I love the artstyle but i will wait for like 0.5 version. too much games that i like went like one update per year xD
Totally understand, I tend to do that too. I admit I was worried that it was too little content to start. However I felt I was pushing my release further and further back without any feedback. I'll keep on working on it and see you then.

Like the premise, but man, people release in 0.01 way too often imo.
I hear that. I lurked on this site for a long time and tended to skip first releases. For me, I felt like I was adding too much without seeing if people liked the idea yet. I'll keep working on it and hopefully see you on another update.

Mmm, understandable. But I think such urges are probably self-defeating.

A good first release on a site like this is probably something more like a slice, where you finish all the basic features and give an example of your best content. Whereas a release like this is more like a demo, which may serve to make people interested but feels disappointing when it's all released at once.

In any case, I definitely dig the art style, so I'll definitely be picking it up once it has more H in it, and I don't think it'll speak too badly of you since it's kind of the norm on this site. But my understanding of a more professional way of devving is to rush down the mechanics first with whatever placeholders you have and get the game up and rolling before putting much, if any, effort into the art. Then again, that model is used more by people who have paychecks and not Patreons, so maybe it's not feasible.

That's an interesting point. I'm coming from another site that isn't as picky on that and tend to focus on the effort more. However, the views to downloads on f95 has been much greater. I'm trying to plan a reasonable update time frame and will keep this post in mind. Thank you for the feedback! :)

I like the game, especially the goth aesthetic. If you have a Patreon, would be more than happy to support it.
Glad you like the aesthetic. And thank you for your kind words about the Patreon. I will likely start one in the future if I can come up with goals I feel like people would support.

Unique artstyles without butchering the actual porn is really all you need. Think about your competition: DAZ Visual Novel About Fucking My Sister #28942, Koikatsu 'Isekai' Point and Click Where Every Character Is The Same Character With A Different Wig, Text-based Game With No Pictures and Google Translate Writing, and "Text-Based" Game With Literally Just Webms of Mia Khalifa

Anything with custom artwork is already on a good start.

Doublepost to note: That doesn't mean you should skip over making the game fun and engaging and binging The Gamemaker's Toolkit to become Pro Developer and make it genuinely fun to play.

Just that you're starting from a lead, and it's up to you to lose it by fucking up more than you have to do something more to get ahead.

I've actually been watching a lot of the "The Gamemaker's Toolkit" recently, it's surprising to see you mention it. May I also recommend the "GDC" talks/lectures if you haven't seen them?

I understand what mean about the oversaturation of certain styles of games on f95. A big part of my project is to hopefully add more game like aspects to go beyond a typical visual novel if I can. I'm currently trying to balance interactive gameplay and adding enough scenes to warrant an update. I've written out the script for the next update and it will hopefully include the first minigame to unlock a usable player power. Right now I'm trying to condense it into something I can actually code.

Realtalk? You can probably get ChatGPT to help you.

IME it doesn't spit out usable code on the first try, but it can provide a very good framework and basic instructions for any section of the task, and taken together can really take the bite out of coding something. It's also good at catching typos and mistakes if you prompt it right.

I've only ever used it for C languages and machine code once or twice, but I'm pretty sure it'd be able to help with Ren'py. GPT-4 is way better than 3.5 as well, if you've got the spare cash to afford it - longer code snippets and less accidentally dumping important stuff when dealing with more complicated, token-heavy issues.

Kinda like having an in-house assistant programmer/teacher, which is really nice.

I'll think about it. If it's possible, I may want to try using it to set up some minigames for me.
