I want to attempt translating a game in my free time, suggestions on which?

Since I've seen there are a lot of untranslated games, and I want to find myself an interesting hobby... I would like to try translating a game! Won't guarantee success in any way, since this would be my first. All I ask is for two things:

1) Made in RPG Maker. That would be just because I'd find it more interesting to translate.

2) Not too massive. As this would be my first project, a short game would be best to start with. I recently tried Inn My Wife, and I believe a game about that length (very short) would be ideal! If it's longer it's fine, I just want to give some basic guideline.

Any suggestions? If I enjoy this, I may start going down the game translation path ;)

I think you might want to scour the Game Request sub-forum and see if any of the games people are asking translations for in there appear to be small in file-size or CG/Event numbers according to their DL Site/DMM pages, I guess. That might be a good way to judge their scope.

Of course, this is assuming the languages you'd be translating from and to are Japanese/Korean/Chinese/Thai (these are the languages I think I've seen Circles' flags in) to English. Might want to specify that. If you're planning to translate from English to some other language, there's probably tons of very small RPG Maker games on itch.io that you can search for easily using the NSFW or R-18 tags on there.

If the rating of the content doesn't matter (i.e.- it doesn't need to be porn), you could also just check enterbrain and freem's databases for old and untranslated RPG Maker games. Those tend to be rather small on average, as many of them are contest entries for time-limited challenges (think Ludum Dare 48-Hour type deals).

Edit: I just remembered there's also the contests named after Violated Heroine that some people participate in. Those games are usually quite small. The ones for 2015 are hosted here: No clue how to find the rest of the years' host sites.

There's also about the sadistic underclassman Nagatoro that no one's tackled yet as far as I know ( ). Pretty sure it's non-pornographic, though, but it is a single room puzzle game fully in Japanese.
