Because this site also happen to be a great pirate site too. I'm pretty sure you're unfamiliar with VN too if you compared it to typical anime format. If that game had no sexual content, then obviously it relied on good story. If your complaint is jus about "no porn", then just don't play it?

They just can't let it die out. In my opinion the Phantom Trigger was already a shallow attempt at mooching off of the original Fruit Of Grisaia. Clones of characters from the original, mediocre plot, a shitty episodic format etc, just garbage.
And likely didn't do so well sales-wise too.
So instead of counting their chips and pissing off, they decide to just dig deeper and reanimate the characters from the original. Not even gonna bother reading what mental hops they used in the plot to justify this mess, since y'know, literally all the characters from the original should be dead timeline-wise. It's just pathetic.

Edit : Btw, the original was always spy action, didn't you read the whole thing ? Granted it had a SUPER LONG common route, which I personally liked, but I can see why you might've quit before the action scenes towards the end of the routes came into play.
Also the sequel to the original, ''Eden Of Grisaia'', is a lot more focused on the action and conflict.
But it never was ''just high-school comedy'' ( granted it's easy to see why people would make that mistake ).

Nah fr the original is a rollercoaster. I always tell people to ditch the anime and go read the Vn.
