It's getting rarer that I can find regular updates for my beloved games. FILF,

For FILF I believe the dev is actually working on another game while he is still developing FILF that's why it's taking longer to update.

One for me right now is The Gift Reloaded think it's been 4 months since it was released and what makes it worse is it ended on a damn cliffhanger which makes the wait the more unbearable.

Sisterly Lust - It'll be the last full episode and I'm looking forward to seeing how it ends.
My Sister, My Roommate - Another one that's ending and I've loved from the beginning.
Personal Trainer - This is yet another that's getting close to ending.

No More Secrets: Probably the Lizzie update, she's been neglected lately, so seeing her again will be amazing.
Private Community: More content for everyone's favorite girl, Hollie.
Timestamps, Unconditional Love: After the last episode's cliffhanger, I need to know what will happen next.

I'm getting sick(!) of health problems from the devs. It has become worthless because of every scummy dev used it as excuse for so long.

Bad Memories is one of those games that look incredible interesting (I mean, Ellie just looks incredible cute).
But also one of those games that got on the "to-do" list.

Looks very interesting, very fun and very beautiful.
But I am afraid that I won't play it anytime soon due to being busy

J..D take your time, the game won't run away, the next update needs probably the whole year 2019 to get finished and there are plenty more to come.

I played one adult game in the last 3 months.
And I made it to the naming of my character screen before work called again.

As a developer yourself,
Well... You know that it's a very busy life... Very busy.
Especially combined with family/home life.

But if I find myself in 2020 with some free time, your game is certainly one of the few that I am keeping my eyes on.
(I mean... Who could ever take his/her eyes of Ellie....)

Yah, I know. It is ridiculous I think. For me, you should finish what you've started before you begin on a new thing.

A lot of beginner dev's give up because they think it's easy money and misjudge the actual workload. One update per month is a lot to ask for, especially for one man dev's. Even small teams miss their deadlines, and/or don't even try to release monthly.

I won't argue about it but I remember monthly updates from a lot of good games. For example, if you think you can't handle it like let's say sandbox game; then start with something linear and go from there, hire other people in your next bigger project etc.

Don't misunderstand. I am just giving my two cents and I am not underestimate the work that going on with a game even if it is visual novel.

If life gets in the way, of course it can be delayed. I am talking about normal daily life.

While I agree that some might use health problems as an excuse

I think ''some'' are not using as an excuse and it is their real problem while a lot of them use it as an excuse.

well since there isn't a rule WHAT game update it has to be, i'm gonna throw age of empires 2 DE in.
i so hope they will fix all the lil' problems and make this a lil' heaven for aoe2 players ^^.
the devs already promised bug fixes and rebalancing.

Roughly two month yes, but I take the time I need and don't make any definitve dates. Quality goes first.

I don't think a set release schedule makes that much sense anyway. It makes more sense to me to find a reasonable stopping point in the story and just take however long you need to finish that and then do a release, whether that's 3 weeks or 3 months.

If you're doing some complicated event it might not even be possible to break it up into a smaller chunk. Something with a lot of branching, etc might just flat out not work at all until it's finished. Something more linear like a series of scenes with just some dialog would be easier to break up but you still want to have a reasonable scene to hit the pause button for the next release.

People seem to forget that a lot of the devs on here are a 1 man shop (or at best a very small team). They can't just add a few more people to the project to meet some deadline. I do think some devs could do a better job of keeping the fans updated on their progress. I don't really care how long it takes but some devs go dark for months at a time and you're left wondering if they got hit by a bus or something. Just a note with some blurb about your progress (without mentioning any dates) and maybe a teaser shot or two is all I would want personally, but I'm not the type to complain about deadlines regardless.

I'm still checking Epic world. Unfortunatelly there is no update longer than a year. Looks like dev take a rest.... It's popular this times.
