I've noticed that with a few projects. One infamous example that comes to mind immediately are the works by Kyle Mercury or Siren. They're basically at the mercy of their artists. The latter of which had to switch art styles 3 times.
I can't even come up with a viable solution other than locking down an artist on retainer/exclusively, but that's obviously going to be far more expensive.
And the lucky case where the artist is so much fan of the genre that he works for free to get a character implemented via mod like in Monster Girl Dreams has not anyone.

It definitely would be very expensive, because in order to have a faster pace of artwork, you'd have to be able to pay an artist enough for them to be able to survive off of it while they take no commissions/additional work. And even then, drawn artwork still takes considerable time when it's higher quality.
We were able to have Soapmonster work almost exclusively on Insexual Awakening artwork, but it quickly became difficult with Erolon.
For many artists, (especially those in expensive cost of living countries like the USA) it's nearly impossible to work on one game for minimal pay.
As a matter of fact, for Erolon all of the income from patreon has exclusively gone to paying artwork for the past 6-8 months, and DrX and myself have not received any income from it. So all the programming DrX does and all the writing I do is being done for no pay at this point.
This isn't a complaint, it's just pointing out how much the slow art cycle has contributed to the vicious cycle of losing support.
This is one of the big reasons why DrX and myself have had to resort to working on more than one project in order to make a somewhat viable income.

I don't want to get too negative about Erolon though, because it's a world we'd like to keep exploring, and we do intend to release a new update for it. It's a matter of balancing the work between IA2 and Erolon.
Fair enough. What you wrote is about what I expected.
Looking at the projects and what works and what doesn't, the interest is kept through builds. Some guys run multiple games and some guys just have one with TONS of support. Support that I wouldn't normally expect.(I'm kinda new here)
I wouldn't blame you if you were at least a bit frustrated with your situation. In any case, I still wish you guys luck. Clearly IA2 is moving swimmingly. (I haven't played that one in a bit since the update bringing in the new girl, the daughter of the teacher)

I wonder how is the progress going on for Erolon. I have just never seen a single post on Patreon for more than half a year. I'm not demanding for an update right now, just for some clue, that this game is not abandoned.

I posted a lengthy outline on the discord about all of the things that have been going on with Erolon, but the tl;dr is yes, we are still working on Erolon, and Avante has been completing more artwork!
We haven't posted anything on Patreon because we know what supporters want to see is a new build posted, and because we don't want to post spoiler images for some of the upcoming scenes.

Well, it was in Insensual Awakening from the same developers. Maybe, it will come to that eventually.
