If MMC can later flip the roles on that character. I'm ok with that. I understand that power dynamics will work in story and that will change as the story moves on.

I think it's meant to represent them being covered in dirt, dust & grime from the mines, i guess.
The art and overview make the setting and story feel fresh and promising.
The genre tags being all lumped together makes me strongly suspect very little of that content is actually in the demo yet.
Looks like it's "waiting game" time to see what the creator actually delivers then, at least for me.

There is one girl who is clearly in a public bath who does not have them. (instead she has water droplets).
This makes me think those black lines are coal or iron dust from the mine.

Promising game – I like what's available so far. The characters have distinctive personalities (although the fat slave was an anachronistic sight), the lore exposition was done well in a simple shadow puppetry-like sequence, and the AI generated backgrounds add to the atmosphere (open expanse for the desert at the intro and the claustrophobic underground mines for the rest of demo).
On the negatives: please get an editor, or a beta reader. The spelling and grammatical mistakes were many and made it hard to follow the story. Unfortunately I can see this putting off some people.

Even at maximum text speed the text seems to crawl out quite slowly, but if I click to proceed mid-text, instead of skipping to the end of the current line of dialogue, it skips it outright and goes to the next line of dialogue.
Either needs a faster maximum text speed or an option for text to appear instantly instead of typewriter-style. And independently of that, click behaviour should be to conclude the currently-appearing line of text if one is in progress.
