Do H-scenes really need to be animated?

Do H-scenes need to be animated to be good?

  • Yes, how can i jerk my johnson to a slideshow?

  • No, the imagination of the human race is not bound by such limiting conventions.

  • Depends, i leave it to my dick to decide

So should games and the industry itself work to switch over where every game requires animation?
I could accept a lack of animation back when i first got into gaming, which was at the beginning of the 90s. Games on Amiga were animated properly. Some of those animations were even impressive for the time period. But its not the 90s anymore. Its the second decade of the 21st century and developers dare release games without animations?

Unacceptable.

My answer would be that I always prefer animations, but that a game can still be solid without them. The same sex scene is almost always sexier with than without. Its just the current step in the evolution of the format, I think. though some of my favorite all time games have zero.

Over the years, I've gone from mostly reading erotica, to reading erotic comics, to reading adult VNs, to playing adult games without animations, to now playing the games with them. While I can and do appreciate the older formats, I still focus on the newer ones.

I personally don‘t need animations, but lewd scenes should still be very dynamic and well composed.
I can also enjoy pure writing. I have read already some very nice stories, that catched me much more than most lewd games and porn. But they must be very well done in structure, logic and writing and additionally hit my own personal fetish.

I actually find just rushing a VN, looking at the images and choosing now and then the right choices to progressively corrupt some characters often quite satisfying. Often even reading rather harms my own perception in a VN, as what is written is way less satisfying, than what I imagine when looking at the sequence of images and only catching some shreds of the written story.

Honestly 99% of the time I see an animated scene, I feel like it would be better if it was a still. And the other 1% I don't think it's a scene that was significantly improved to the point that the animation was worth it. And the worst is when I have to sit and watch a really shitty animation for 5 seconds instead of moving to the next thing.

I'm actually been very motived recently to learn to use timeline on the Illusion games that have the studio editors. So to teach myself i've been finding non animated static scenes which are good for inspiration, and animating them.

Well, if a game lacks animation, it might still be okay.

But if it doesn't offer any gameplay elements (essentially, the vast majority are simple visual/kinetic novels), or a decent story complemented by music and atmospheres, or a plot that changes based on choices, with well-written dialogues, perhaps using fresh and unique assets...

then just do a online porn comic.

I would also like to add that there are a few artists that do non animated scenes that are 3d renders and animations that are exquisite, they appear to use the both from the same resources. The best one that comes to mind for me are the Affect 3d series. Still waiting for the Celine updates to get released....
