RPGM - Completed - Desecration Of Wings [Final] [Sierra Lee]

This game is awesome, epic level awesome... at least storywise.
Game mechanics are good with many customisable skills and equipment.
Sex scenes are... one time only, slice of life, kind of? Protagonist is a prostitute, so most of scenes is her working and the rest are story bound. Art is... two art styles?, two artists? And a lot of it is reused. But still, writing is amazing, at least in majority of them.
I had a lot of fun playing this. Thank You Sierra Lee.

the bad guys got what they deserved, even at the bad ending

*Gameplay.
//Play as a historian whore! The game makes sure to demonstrate right away that the whore part is non-negotiable.
\\Typical RPG gameplay i love. Go places, do quests, kick asses. Fuck. Not necessarily in that order.
//Can name unique characters. Travel and fight together, find friends, improve relationships~
\\Travel the world on an airship! A bit later in the game though.


*Combat.
//RPGM. But modded a bit. Various skills with various interesting effects. Fun~
\\Gear provides skills, freely equip skills learned from various gear pieces. Mix anything.
//Limit skills. Fill up your oomph-bar to unleash your degeneracy upon your foes!
\\Well balanced. If you can't defeat something, try sucking less. It helps.
//There is some grind, to learn skills if anything. Please don't QQ about it.


*Art/sex.
\\Quality art, but just one static pic per scene, no expression additions or anything.
//Well-written sex scenes that are not too long and not too short, as expected from Lee.
\\No animation.
//Low sexual content. Yes, you won't 'smash' often here.. ahem, i mean, 'get smashed' often.
\\Some art is reused.


*Sound.
//Sound settings available.
\\Sometimes pleasant, sometimes okay-ish ambient. Low variety.
//Characters are not voiced.
\\No sex sounds, such as moaning etc.
//You won't lose anything if you turn all sound off and tune in to your own stuff.


*Hints.
\\Hold shift when changing sound controls, this way you can increase/decrease by 10% instead of 1.
//Press F1 to enable/disable BGM and other stuff.
\\Changeable window skins, perma-dash, instant text. Find them in the settings.
//Various guides had been provided to you in the beginner's hall. Don't be like some sucker and go read.
\\Has autosave.
//Careful with the dogs finding quest, they can get you stuck. Avoid corners.
\\Gold is precious, don't waste it.
//The steel sheep can be defeated with a crit that can produce damage equivalent to its hp. Red can do it easily.
\\Dark Mimic will heal itself, continue dealing damage anyway, you will eventually kill it if your dps is higher than its heal.
//North-west of Benan's palace there is an island, you will find interesting slime monsters there.
\\Max amount of SP is 40, you will get it at character level 70. Certain items can increase it further.


*Afterword.
As is typical for Lee, the story is amazing.
It has lessons to teach, feels, and laughs..
Frankly, i want a sequel... I really dig this mother/daughter adventuring.
Overall a fantastic example that demonstrates quite well how to use RPGM the right way.
Take notes if you're a prospective game dev or a writer.

And a final shot, to remember all the good times i had here.
Never thought i'd sink 42 hours into a 100mg game. Heh.
Worth it, absolutely.

More a game with porn than a porn game.

Cute story with a big immersive world and nice character. I wouldn't play it if you are trying to fap. Also, in my opinion, it gets a bit slow and annoying towards the end.

Play this if you like RPGs with some porn sprinkled in.

I must first say that Sierra is very talented,she was the brain and soul of KoD and Noxian Nights and she continues to put out great games,among them is Desecration of Wings or DoW.

The game overall is very good and with the exception of the h scenes here and there,which arent good nor bad nor frequent but fit in ok with the story,its easy to forget its a h game because of its quality of non h elements.

+Good Music,usually i dont like h game soundtrack because its just the basic RPG maker one and rages from lame to boring,this game has a music that is both relaxing and engaging,depending on the context

+Very Good story, i usually rate negatively h games because they take a scenes first approach and the story is more like a accesory,here however the story is first and although this means that scenes suffered,the game is a true game in the sense of the word and could easily be put on steam (if its not alreay) and make good money.

=endings are something im not exactly happy about,the "perfect" or "good" ending is anti climatic and kinda weird,not al all what you'd expect from freeing a eldritch demon in your world but whatever,i haven't tried the other ending so im not sure how it is but its implied its worst than the former.

+Good characters and some character development,im writing this a couple of months after i finished it but i still remember the characters and some iconic moments,thats how you know you did something,although the game feels a bit rushed and so they are not expanded as they should.

+Map is not the scale of MGQ but its surely big,locations are kinda small and not very unique but aren't bad either,i enjoyed exploring the map and some of its secret locations.

+Solid combat,something that is normally lacking in h games,unless its a battle fuck type of system,i enjoyed most fights,boss fights however were very repetitive and didnt pose any thread,just grind enough,spam and you win any fight

-The leveling up system and items are kinda unbalanced,you can fight a boss in a new dungeon and loot it only to get worst items than you already have or can buy from shops,items from shops are also very expensive.

-In some parts of the game you can get very lost,like the forest of shadows and there isn't any guide,i had to look at comments on this site or lose time figuring it out by trial and error.

-No map,something this basic isn't available at all,even late game nothing,you can download a picture of the world but its quality is very poor,good luck.

-H element is vey lacking,its worst it for the sake of story but its possible to have both like in MGQ

+I like very much that this game sneaks in some inspirational quotes,mature comments,characters having a moment of self-awareness like the protagonist admitting her role as a harlot and taking a mature approach to it and some comments on our world that make alot of sense,those hidden games appear here and there and make the game so much better,it shows dedication from the dev.

i give it a 9/10 by H game standard

Come for the Porn, stay for the compelling story.

In the same vein as the last sovereign, the main characters treat sex actually maturely, and you can actually see the world existing. Wouldnt actually play this to get off though, not that this is necessarily a bad thing.

The resolution/display size is far too small to get any real enjoyment out of it, which is a shame because the story seemed promising. This is especially bad if you have bad eyesight like me. I have no choice but to give it a 1 star rating due to playability issues.

That is a full motherfucking RPG with geniously done plot, character development and art. If you like RPGs but have somehow ignored that game until now, go play it, or I will come to your house at night, ring the doorbell and run away. 10 out of 10 and I think I'd rate only very few games that high - it really has to keep high standards in every aspect, and Desecration of Wings succeeds with that.

The story is great I agree with the previous review but, the art, soundtrack, and the money system is not for me....
It's difficult to go to some places without a map. And what I hate the most is there is no hint for some quest which is needed for that type of quest.

Desecration of Wings is a truly excellent game. I downloaded it without any real expectations except for it being a generic RPG Maker H-game, and was shocked at the rich depth of storytelling and compelling characters this game presented, coupled nicely with solid game mechanics.

As a narrative experience, Desecration of Wings is outstanding. Just the right blend of familiar and exotic, tropes and subversions, and a few really creative developments that I've never seen before but that felt right at home in the genre. Good pacing too; gameplay, story, and sex are all interspersed as the game progresses without ever focusing on one to the detriment of the others.

Gameplay-wise, it's an RPG Maker game competently done with a good level curve, interesting exploration, and a few interesting mechanics to set it apart from the rest. If you generally enjoy RPG Maker games, you will likely love this. And if you haven't played one before this is a good place to start!

The art is slightly limited by the display size, but is solidly done nonetheless. The game relies heavily on stock RPG Maker art assets, but not too heavily; main characters get the full art treatment in a style that feels natural, and of course the H-scenes have lovely images to accompany the descriptions. There is some art re-use at times, but I certainly found it didn't hamper my enjoyment.

My only criticism is the display size. It's quite small! However as with other small RPG Maker titles, there are a range of zooming and enlargement tools for Windows that work will with it, so I found that to be a very minor issue. Windows Magnifier is obviously an option, though I personally played it with the free Window Watcher from Airesoft.

Overall I enjoyed it very much, and would highly recommend it.

good story, great writing, great amount of play time (11+ hours to get ~100%), decent difficulty curve with fun combat (battles eventually becomes unlosable though), great artwork while unfortunately there isn't much h-content (a lot of scenes are re-used), forgettable dungeons, older version of rpgmaker, no standing image or clothing interaction.

Desecration of Wings is an impressively designed game from Sierra Lee. In terms of writing, it's above almost all other western h-games, and even though it uses an old RPGMaker version it really has very sophisticated game mechanics making it very fun to play. Honestly, it's a game I play for fun as much as for eroticism.
