So, I want to learn playing with DAZ, mess around. But i can't spend any money (for now). I heard the base software is free and some basic models too. With that, how much can i play around ?

TL;DR - Can i recreate sex scenes for free (even if its with limited girl) ?

Everything is "free" if you know where to look. I buy my stuff legit from the official store and Renderosity. I wouldn't give a damn if you download it for free from sharing websites. This is a pirating forum for crying out loud. :FeelsGoodMan:

As for your question, no, you can't do decent sex scenes with the free stuff. You'll be missing the genitals and body morphs (eg. boob squishing) that would make your scene more realistic. Use your google-fu and render your sex scenes pronto.

Ahh.. yes i know the irony of it. I wouldn't mind pirating but just wanted to know the limits of the free packs they offer. Also, would really help if anyone give pointers on where to start with DAZ and POSER

"Broke people" can't afford computers that can render 3d images, pay for internet service, or waste time on pirate porn sites...

Not that i'm one to cost anyone money or even promote pirating on this here pirating site buuuuut if one happened to, oh I don't know ... stroll merrily upon a bay of pirates and browse a certain SuperBay forum they may stumble upon some pirate booty.

Well, 3D booty that is.

They have a Daz forum where pirates do piratey things.

You know, because we're pirates.

Nothing in life is free .... except if you know where to look.

On this topic, what are the payment methods for buying DAZ resources? Is it only credit card?

I'm asking because I don't own a credit card (and neither want one, honestly).

More or less. You need a credit card for the PayPal and gift card options.

Hmm... That sucks...

I guess I'll have to stick to "alternative measures"...

I don't know if it'll be a problem when I release my game...

There is a 100% free alternative to Daz, called XNALara / XPS pose studio. Thousands of free models, and very simple to use. Very popular on DA.
I'll check that out when I get home, thanks.

But then, I think the vast majority of games we see here use pirated Daz resources anyway...

The basic free free stuff won't help you a great deal.

I wish you good luck in your endeavor. I have been playing with Daz3D since Aiko 3 just came out and can't call myself experienced in it. Keep in mind that your machine performance will affect your renders drastically. Before I upgraded my machine a 1600x900 3Delight render could take up to 5 hours to complete (walls, furniture, clutter, 2 characters, with hair and clothes). I am under 30 minutes for a much more complex render in 3Delight and Iray, well Iray you can force it to render to ridiculous amounts of time, but the longer the render time, the sharper the image quality (one character portrait and sun only, no walls, no other light sources, no clothes only can take up to 20 minutes but the render quality is comparable to DMD and Big Brother before post-render touch-ups)

Good luck!

Edit: Have a look at Maya as well. Way more complex but almost limitless compared to Daz3D.

Back to the original question.

Yes, it's possible to try to go the 'free stuff Daz route'. There are a number of free resources out there that don't involve pirating.

I visit renderosity.com and sharecg.com regularly. They have a lot of freebies. There is also this page:

Pay attention to the usage rights of the stuff you download. Some are unrestricted, others are personal use only, and the rest fall in between r.e. usage rights.

Googling can find you a number of other files as well.

As to whether it's possible to 'make do' on the free route, I think so but you will be a bit limited in characters, hair, wardrobe options and similar such. Especially if you use older models such as the Victoria 4 era models. Lots of 'free stuff' for V4, etc.

Another place that you may fall short is in setpieces/locations. With a bit of skill, you can find a number of royalty free images on the net, if you want to go the 'put character on top of background' route that is popular in RPGMaker, RenPy, etc. games, but if you want to 'natively render' the character in an environment, well your selection of environment/location models will be rather limited.

Should you decide to start buying stuff from the Daz store, definitely get a Platinum Club membership for your first year, when Platinum Club goes on sale. It usually goes on sale for 1/2 off for a couple of days every month or two... This will open the door to a whole bunch of freebies via the Daz store throughout the course of the year.

Unless you go the pirate route of course...

Very subtle. I will try those "bays"'.

Interesting, never heard of this one. Will definitely check it out.

Thank you so much. This is the response i have been looking for. It gave me a overall picture on what to expect and be realistic. Faith in f95 restored.

Any adult games using these models?? Would love to check them out!

Thanks, this is absolutely for personal use only. Well, at least for now. Once i am confident with my skills, will move out of the ahoy route, but for now it seems to be the best route.

A lot of comic books, fan fiction, and videos, but I don't know of any games made using XNALara.
Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, MetalGear, DOA, and hundreds of other games, have all been ripped and models converted.
