Can't be arsed anymore to check how long ago the last 2 updates were (the previous update didn't add anything new already)

But after not one, but two completely unecessary spin-offs nobody asked for, and no lifesigns of the actual DBA game, it finally seems like this is another "Dr. Bones".



Hard to understand why; the game was on a really good way, so much more potential content on the horizon. Then the talk about a steam release, putting good gameplay over porn. Now it hasn't progressed for several years.

Sure there is plenty of content and gameplay in the current live version, but don't expect this to be going anywhere soon.

I'm not going to try and defend the devs, because I agree that criticism is warranted. However, I do know at least one reason why it's taken so long.

The devs are building this game with their own in-house engine, not using Ren'Py, RPG Maker, or anything like that. After they released the 0.6.5 version, they started heavily upgrading the engine itself, and how it rendered the graphics (i.e. they had 2D sprites that only gave the appearance of 3D objects, now they are creating actual 3D assets). That update is taking a long time, and while they're doing that, they're simultaneously updating the game to release the 0.7 version on Steam as an early access title. At least, that's the plan.

I'm not a game developer, nor a DBA Patreon supporter, nor am I trying to justify their delays, but just trying to give a little context. If I had to guess how long it would take for them to get to the 1.0 release, I wouldn't guess any sooner than 2027. I hope I'm wrong, but I try to be realistic. We'll probably get this before Summertime Saga is completed, though

My #1 smut game of all time! with that said......... the Melissa/Amy rework in 6.5 is garbage. We lost some great scenes. The original Amy/Sonny truth or dare scenarios were some of the best in the game. Sonny licking Amy from behind, and MC eating out Melissa in the basement was awesome, etc. We got some new animations but overall the change was totally unnecesary and made the game worse. Hoping Oni fixes it for 0.7.

This game is definitely one of the "crown jewels" of smut games, which is why it's kinda weird to see sudden reworks like these, the long time between updates is somewhat understandable, they seem to be focusing a lot of work into the engine of the game, likely because they plan to use it a lot in the future, but the content rework really just feels like it came out of nowhere unnecessarily, wonder what the devs are thinking.

hopefully with the Steam release we can get more people working on modding the game, so stuff like the hair color change and the removed content can be modded back in.

Newsflash:

Adult gaming is practically dead.


Maybe some people still remember 5+ years back, where there was at least some kind of interesting update about every day?
Well, these times are over.

• Subscription models rewarding minimal updates, stretched across absurd time frames (see Summertime Saga etc)
• Unprofessionality
• New wave of censorship originating from online payment systems
• Ukraine war removed the majority of russian devs, and russian-ukrainian dev partnerships

That's why you see those 30 game updates every day, but they are all merely combinations of the same thing. Low effort Koitatsu / Honeyselect, Realporn HTML, horrible DAZ renders, and now also AI CGs.

Topics like maledom, teen or incest are almost gone entirely, while more than half the games appear to be some combination of gay, ntr, futa, furry, femprotag, because that's the only types of kinks still allowed under the rising totalitarianism.

And it's not just the adult gaming sites being affected. Classic amateur modeling sites are getting these "guidelines" from the payment processors, having to remove old photosets showing stuff like "dirty panties with a drop of period blood" or "rough sex", otherwise they lose their contracts and thus all their income.

Like the daily flood of Koitatsu / Honeyselect and Realporn HTML games. Tags don't matter for those, they are always automatically shit, just based on the graphics engine used for the images, and the fact that the dev found these acceptable.

But when was the last Inc game which was actually good? Like this one here, not having seen an update in 2 years?
