You can thank payment processors and credit cards for that. They threatened to withdraw their services if Gumroad didn't clean up their act (and Patreon was also being held up in that fashion).
Alternatives exist today, there's no excuse to just nuke your own company in fear that payment processors will do so. I'm always in favour of a "die fighting" mentality, better than just cower on the corner like a loser every time some major corporation comes after you. By surrendering, you encourage them to bully more people out of business.
I'm just tired of feckless businessman refusing to stand up in favour of their own business. Piratry is places like this forum is a better option than to give money to people who are not willing to fight back for both creators and customers. I really hope they at least don't erase my past purchases.
Also, It's really funny that the same people that supposedly support female empowerment and sexual liberation are also behind these payment processors who are bullying companies out of the NSFW business. Makes me wonder what is their real goal by financially supporting opposite worldviews simultaneously.
