There is an option to just skip to the end of it. (I'm not sure if you can avoid the free-play looking around the crime scene, but if you intend to skip the trial it doens't much matter if you find everything...)

The bug described sounds similar to the bug you were chasing about a year or two ago. Back then you sometime ended up with the dialog for a different person when trying to talk to Amanda or the girl at the book shop (can't recall her name). This game is officialy a joke. I played it a year ago but stopped due to the lack of content. After full year I gave game a second chance but amount of content is almost same. Club got 1 or 2 basic scenes and thats all. Girls got some quest with 5-6 erotic or sex scenes. Oh! And lets not forget longass court drama. Why?!? Why spend time on useless flaff and add bare minimum of sex scenes for game that consider porn one?
I even checked all scenes from game files:

Hannah - club hangout level 1, club massage level 1-2, her Questline
Hermione - club hangout level 1-2, her Questline
Jennifer - club dance level 1, club hangout level 1, club bar level 1, her Questline

If you played this game a year ago, you should know that this dev. is not developing the game based on what we players would like to see, but what he finds fun to spend his free time developing. And that is also the answer to your question regarding the court drama. Because he felt it would be fun to make an Ace Attorney parody.
Would I like to see more sexual content, specially in the club. Oh. yes. No doubt about that. Does it annoy me that the spy scenes and all club scenes all ends before it gets real interesting. Like hell it does. But this dev's. fetish apparently is to keep us with constant blue balls. If you don't like that. Just ditch the game and move on. No one is forcing you to play the game. Life is too short to waste time bitching about a free game on F95.
Edit: In your list of scenes, you have forgotten all the spy scenes, the story line with the clerk in the convenient store, the coffee shop scenes, and probably a bunch of scenes, which I have also forgotten about or have missed out on.

If I did this as a day job, there would be more club content, but I'm working on this when I have the spare time. It seems like not a lot when you list them out like that, but out of curiosity I checked myself and there's about 2,2k renders and according to RenPy there's 25 695 rows of dialogue, 243 464 words, so it's like three books worth of dialogue and story. I initially felt bad, but after checking this it doesn't sound so bad

I too would love to see more sex scenes, and see the spy scenes and club scenes ends with actual sex etc. But it's your game and I would rather see you develop it the way you like it than not having it at all.

Also when I try to click on the Hostess Club Icon the game displays an error, I need to access the Club by the map.
Not sure if this is what your issue is, but worth asking:
There are two icons for the hostess club. The one at the bottom, along with all the other rooms, is where you click to actually go there. The one where you click to change who does what job, is at the top, to the left of the timer (research, hostess club, go to class, DUSK, rest, journal, inventory.)
If you already knew that and you're clicking in the right place but it's not bringing up a menu for changing the hostesses around, you need Yorma to come along and figure out what went wrong because I don't have a clue.
