Ren'Py - Big Long Complex [v1.3b] [DonTaco]

While I'll miss freely roaming, I'll review this as if it were stand alone. First, the pros. The animations for the lewd scenes are nice and as expected looped. This version introduces a wide roster of girls that can be interacted with, but most having little to no content. Lia is the only one you can actually do the dirty dance with as of Version 1.3, as the others only net nude scenes/stills.

Now for the negatives. Most will tell you it is significantly more grindy than the previous game. While true, its own shortcomings are apparent even as a stand alone via the minigames. Talking to girls earns affection, but requires an RNG minigame of selecting an icon and hoping it gives a +1 to affection as opposed to an X. Each talk event can potentiay earn 4 points of affection. This makes the grind fundamentally longer as it is now RNG based.
Now, there are ways to level up skills, however as of 1.3 on android, it only crashes when attempting to take classes to improve skills. I also have no idea what the skills do, if anything.
The game's shortcomings also become more apparent when there is a slew of interactables that clearly have no purpose yet. On one hand, one can see it as things to come to be excited about. On another, one can presume the Developer isn't quite focused and is adding ideas as they come to mind.
Either way, it isn't bad, but it is very bare bones in its current state. To the very least, you get decent animations with Lia, if you can stand the minigames to unlock the scenes.

it's good. could use some work though. would be nice if there was some easy way to track where a girl is, aside from opening the journal. Just like seeing on the door if they are in that room. the game definitely needs more content though.

This is like a terrible knock off of the Unity version of the game. Even the models look comically worse somehow. Everything is more of a grind for no reason.

I dont understand why someone would remake a perfectly good game into trash.

DonTaco ultimatly fail to make BLC on UNITY, so... he desided to make absolutley the same game with minor changes and implemented awful features. The only things the game have a plenty - the bugs, some of them breaking the game! It's hilarious how comebody with experience in game development (i suggesting) can fail the previous game and trying to make exactly the same with really poor content delivery... and fail to do it too! And all that locked beyond the paywall ofcourse!

1 - very bad decision to implement mini-game interaction in "CHAT" and in "TRAINING". That thing just wasting my goddam time and absolutley NOT FUN!
2 - poor content. Nothing to do, very small reward for doing home chores, working and learning. There is no "Gallery" option, in game where unrepeatable scenes included!
3 - Bugs with minigame when training when you fail even if you guess word right! Or bug what's crush your game when you try to interact with girl in gym shower. Also in Sex Shop "working" background never loads, in other scenes pic just can freeze and appear when loading.

Aniway, there is nothing to do here.Only one thing in game is good - scenes now animated. But that definitely not a reason for you to download this game, or buy it.

This is inexcusable, how is it possible that a game in its VERSION 1.1 has almost no content and has bugs, it almost seems that it is a REMAKE made in ANOTHER SOFTWARE with changes in the story that will mean that the gameplay and development must be changed, this is incredible...

Sarcasm aside, this game is a remake generated in another program (unity->renpy) with some changes at the story and gameplay level, it is obvious that the dev is still learning to use the program and that both the renders and the gameplay They had to adapt to this new environment, for now 3 stars is fair, a balance between promising a lot and still lacking many improvements.

So, if you played the Unity version, this will be a massive disappointment. The grind to get their affection up is harder than before, because now the whole system of talking with the characters to increase their interest in you is more complex. Instead of just spending time with them, you now need to choose a topic for your talks from a list as long as my arm. Some topics won't do anything, some will give one affection-point, and some will give more. And it's not like you can somehow determine their interests, like going into their bedrooms and checking their book shelves. No, which topic gives points is completely random! And the game also keeps track of whatever topic you chose last and then expects you to find a different one the next time you spend time with them.

If you somehow manage to push through that grind, there are no rewards. In the Unity Version, you could have a lot of fun with Lia. Now, you can get ONE blowjob, and the scenes are not repeatable. The game has a bunch of new characters though, that you can grind affection with... that then doesn't lead to anything because, while the game claims your affection rose every time you spent time with them, that affection isn't tracked.

Which leads me to the bugs. Click on Ginny in the evening? Get an Error message because some variable about Lia isn't set. Try to access a room on the top floor of the building? Get thrown into the map. It seems like the object mapping isn't done very well.

And then there's the stuff that seems like bugs. Like Lia's computer in the painting room. You can enter a password to log in.. but then still have to play a weird numbers game to hack it. And then you can hack it indefinitely. I don't know if there's simply no content yet, or if this is a bug. Just like with the Affection that isn't tracked every time I work in the paint shop.

There are also quite a few instances where you lose resources simply because the game lets you do stuff that doesn't lead to anything. You can find a box in the shelves in your room and lockpick it as many times as you want. Only the first time will give you a porn video, that you can't use yet, and no matter how many bobby pins you break, there's nothing else to gain.

My biggest problem with the game, though, is the fact that there is no help whatsoever. You don't know whether you reached the end of the game or if there's some more gated content that you need to fulfill some secret condition for. You can endlessly grind your affection with them, you can endlessly work, you can endlessly gamble, just like you can endlessly pick doors and chests and hack computers, but nothing ever comes of it.

Also, there's a promising incest backstory in there... that you only learn the bullet points of, if you care to read MC's diary. But, other than that, the whole theme is NEVER explored. Just like with the Unity version, these characters get introduced as your Aunt, Cousin, Mother, or sisters... but it's never used as a kink. If you like incest, it's on you to constantly remind yourself you're not just screwing a random woman who took you in from the street, given how your bed is nothing more than a cottage right next to the washing machine in the store room.

All in all, I will take a break from this game until the dev catches up with the Unity version. Right now, it's just disappointing.

As of v1.1 this is not worthplaying. Game is very grindy and tedious and this grind needs to be quickened up. Very little scenes and is currently worse than the old Unity version of the game. The game also seriously needs a gallery to show you all the scenes you've unlocked.

The game looks good in many ways mainly because it's still in its early stages, but the camera movement gives me a bit of a headache, it has some collision bugs. I had a good impression of the remake, I would love to see it unfold.

I have played the original game and this remake seems much more original and alive. The graphics are impressive and the gameplay has a lot of potential, I would like some groping options with Lia and her daughter, that is something the original game lacks

Back to square one but this time with POV and nice graphics (if you ignore the fact that the skin looks like it's made from 89% oil).

Seems to be a proof of concept more than anything. You can see Lia going about her routine without teleporting and with some jiggly physics, which is a great improvement. You can interact with the doors and with the bed to sleep I assume? No indication if time is passing, outside is always sunny; sometimes it will trigger Lia's next routine, sometimes not. Once she gets in the shower, the game acts like she's always there though you can see her on the bed and interact with her. And that's about it.

You got no more phone menu so no clue what time it is or how and if you're improving relationship through dialogue. The dialogue seems to be available in some rare instances and no matter what you select from the options it seems to pick something else most of the time.

If there is sex in this build, it's not worth the frustrating clicking the bed waiting for the chat option to be available again only for it to pick something random and possibly lead to nothing anyway.

Judging by the time it's taken for this much to come out, I'd expect it to have the same content as the original game in at least 5 years time.
