Others Android Issues with XML

I'm having issues with several games as of late. There are some games out there that I've downloaded on android, but when I open the file package, I don't see the APK, rather I see a XML file? I tried running the XML by simply opening it in case it was just a different type of APK file, but I always get this issue (see the attached file for details). Also, while yes it sounds stupid, I was desperate and tried renaming the XML file to APK to no avail. Someone help?
