Edit: To clarify the one of the main things that's important for a porn game is the art the other main ones being writing and gameplay. If the devs can't afford to get unique art they're missing one of the three main areas that anyone plays porn games.

ive had many black screen moments that ive been through all through the maps, etc never bothered mentioning them because the bug fix tool got me through UNTIL i finally opened up fvar...please tell me the house in the pic included isnt the mayers house ...everytime i try to enter this house i get black screen YES the bug tools works (sort of)just cant enter house

Fun fact: Crouler was not the one who put the bug fixer into this game. (oh, how i suffered when we didn't have this magic item)
Once upon a time, in a galaxy far... or maybe not so far away, there was another developer who was helping Crou-chan because Crou-chan used to really suck at the techie stuff.
Anyway, black screens are rather common in RPGmaker engines, especially the older ones like XP in which Alone is made.
Moving on, Crou-chan has a terrible terrible habit of releasing unfinished content.
So yeah, don't be surprised if something doesn't work or is broken. And save often.
But this particular house... i don't remember it being broken.
But if you can't enter it may be connected to some quest, although i don't remember any quests there.
Also no, major house is bigger, i think it was located northwest of where you are at on the screenshot.

theres some sort of quest connected to the house its a couple wanting to have a baby and making a deal with a demon
no idea why i cant get in that house but the black screen surely dont help (gave up trying after not being able to enter THAT house) as far the mayer your right for now i cant get into the mayers place some sort of funeral happening and waiting for their daughter to show up or something a long those lines and not sure how to progress further
theres another weird quest thats way at the end of area end of making a deal with some weird monster guy and wants you to fix the deal suppose to go do something tho not sure what and been trying to dig through google searches to see what im to do and where to go, etc theres lots broken with the game BUT man still enjoyable as hell a side from a few annoyances
lots of word goin around the forum here about possible reboot love to see this game fixed up its pretty good game been playing it about a week and thats rare on F95 lol (for me anyways)most games done and deleted with in a hour or so at most

im doing a quest outside my castle off to the east and killng zombies, etc click a tree and a little dialog box pops up says

i find it hilarious how people are getting mad at this dev here for taking art from other games but when it comes to html games like the company everyone is suddenly fine with it. for adam&gaia we also shamelessly used video scenes and turned 'em into gifs. all stolen content, still got its fanbase.
get it in your brain, not every dev has a thousand bucks at his disposal to use it for new art. its the waqy it is. want to change it? fund him.
If you can't afford to make a porn game just don't lol. I wasn't mad I just said I'm not playing it. It's like making a story game without a writer so you steal someone else's story and say you'll replace it later when or if you get the money. The art doesn't even have to be hand drawn. Koikatsu or Honey select is way better than straight up stolen art because if the characters look nice the players/devs can have whatever scenes they want with that character rather than being limited to stolen artwork scenes.
The html games are low quality and I don't really like em. They're barely games so this whataboutism means nothing to me. Also do you really want me to hand money to a dev that can't even get basic artwork like from Koikatsu or Honey select? If I'm giving money it's to the devs who can be bothered to draw/model or pose/create the characters themselves.

AloneXP is a remake of Alone (same author), the remake came out in 2013, honey select in 2016, koikatsu in 2019.
The original alone came out... I don't quite remember the year but it was several years old by the time of the remake
I don't think you realize just how ancient this game is.
And its not like people just all jumped on the honey select bandwagon the moment it came out. Or that everyone even heard of it immediately. This also predates patreon (patreon started in 2013, the same year as the remake. so the original predates patreon by several years)
The author plan was to use stolen art and then never replace it, on a game that he had zero plan of ever making a single dollar off of. Because again, the game predates patreon and even when patreon started most people have not even heard of it. Back then these kinds of porn games simple did not make ANY money at all. The author never expected to make any money off of this.
Instead years later everything changed, patreon became a thing and suddenly he could make money off of his game. Honey select came out and suddenly he could realistically make his "own" art.
He considered his options and between honey select and patreon funded commissions decided on the latter. New content is made with patreon funded comissioned art specific for this game, and he is slowly replacing the old stolen art with patreon funded comissions. However there are tons and tons of it to replace. the game is vast.
The vast majority of games on this site are using a stolen story. they are set in harry potter, or naruto, or dragonball, or what not. The number of games here that have their own story is very small.
Porn parodies are different to just stealing the story and you know that. It's like saying naruto doujins just stole the story despite them being about things that didn't happen. It's more akin to stealing a setting like making a new story set in an already existing world. Also just because the game predates those games it doesn't mean that he has an excuse to not bother with it now. There's a reason why he only has like 7 supporters now.
It's good to know he's replacing stolen art but until it's gone, and his new art quality is visible in the preview I'm sure most people wouldn't bother with it and I doubt with 7 patreons the art quality would be better than what he could make in honey select or koikatsu and even it is it's gonna take years to replace.

That is true. Although I think a bigger issue he is going to have is how he is still developing on a 16 year game old engine.
An engine that was trash when it came out.
Honestly should have called this game completed years ago and moved on to a sequel in a modern engine, with only original art.
I thought it was a remake? Did he not update the engine? Also the story thing was meant to be in relation to writing a book but I forgot since I posted it yesterday. The main part of the porn game is the porn. It is the bait on the hook to get you to play the game. Since substituting it for stolen assets was my issue amongst other things I mentioned.

He remade it in an older engine.
RPGM XP came out in 2005
RPGM VX came out in 2007
RPGM VX Ace came out in 2012 (outside of japan).
The original game, Alone, was made in VX (2007) version of the engine.
The author was growing increasingly frustrated with it over time, as they have cut a lot of features that were available in XP (2005).
He started trying to familiarize himself with VX Ace (2012) with plans on rebooting into it but found that one endlessly frustrating as well. Again many cut features, improvements but also breaking stuff.
RPGM is notorious for being extremely impractical to port between editions. Eventually in 2013 he had enough, posted a long rant about VX and VX Ace. Said he is remaking the game in RPGM XP. the new game will be renamed from Alone to AloneXP (the XP is from the game engine name) to distinguish it from the old game. So he remade the game into an older engine.
To be fair XP, VX, and VX Ace were all trash. VX Ace is just a mostly fixed version of VX. where it took them 5 years to sort out most of the problems in VX, but even then not all.
The notoriety of being impractical to port between editions is one of the reasons people keep on calling it a trash engine, it is not just the 8bit graphics or the grindy JRPG style combat.
For example RPGM keeps on switching which language user scripts are written in. So if you want to port a game to a newer version of RPGM you need to learn a different programming language and then manually rewrite all user created scripts into the new language. And zone tiles have to be redone manually, again not something that can just be imported from one game to the next.
This is why less than 5% of RPGM games on F95 use the latest version of the engine, RPGM MZ (2020), which is actually somewhat decent. There is also the MV version from 2015. which was still meh but the first version of RPGM to ever have a proper resolution.
Shrug. I am mostly saying that it is not as bad as you originally said since this game predates a lot of those alternatives you mentioned. I am not saying that it is good that the game was made with stolen art. Certainly not if you judge it compared to other games available today
Oh yeah understandable. It's more acceptable considering it's age. The whole RPGM thing sounds like it might be a coding thing in general. I'm trying to learn a bit of unity myself but unity wanted to do little updates daily and the tutorial I'm watching has edits where he has to explain how to do something in the current version because shit keeps changing from the old versions.

ima not wait til some rich fuck decides to make a porn game and im glad that even poor devs are making games. the more the merrier and the more diamonds we will find.
ever used honey select or koikatsu? doing models and scenes with it is a chore and doesnt even look good. not to mention that you also need to code the game, write the story, do the audio, the balancing, compile it properly, make sure it doesnt lag like shit and so on. time is essential here. dont forget the game is on rpg maker. using 3d models in 2d style game with cartoony looks feels out of place. you can do it but personally im glad he chose not to. id rather have stolen art at this point.

I'm not very into html games because I prefer to look at my porn rather than read it. That being said I'd personally prefer no cgs over stolen ones. Partially because if I recognise the characters it can take me out of the "immersion" of your game world and partially because of the inconsistent art style etc.
I mean I like Koikatsu games but some of them have had characters I recognise from anime but labelled as someone else and it's a little jarring. I guess now that I think about it I might not be completely against stolen CGs if they came from a game or VN I couldn't read because it's not English but they are limiting to devs because they are limited specifically to the scenarios presented in the original VN. But generally speaking stolen CG games aren't great and because I don't consume porn faster than it is created I probably won't play stolen CG games for a long time if at all.

I mean if it's temp art they should at least state it. I have no reason to try games with stolen art right now when I can play original games. Visual novels aren't games btw. There is no gameplay. If you can complete the "game" by holding one button it's not a game. They're something between manga and anime. Sometimes mixed with a choose your own adventure book thing with branching pathes. Also with html games almost all the ones I see are pretty obviously using screenshots from porn. I don't think I've seen any originals outside of that one game where you play as a kid.
