Hi y'all!

We just registered on this here site and now we'd now like to introduce ourselves: We are Mal and Liz, aspiring programmer and fledgling writer respectively. We're a pair of fairly perverted nuts that enjoy AVNs, and hopefully we'll also be contributing to the constantly expanding soup of visual novels out there by making our own (under the future name of MalLiz Studio.) Given that we live together and do basically everything together, we figured it'd be easier for us to register under one pseudonym (or account if you prefer) instead of two. Hopefully that isn't against the rules! If it is, then Liz wishes to make it clear that Mal will simply be the one in charge of the account, as the "public face" of our up-and-coming little online presence. We'll be writing up our own "separate" introductions below too.

(Okay, you can do this... Deep breath, big guy. Here goes...) Hey guys! I'm Mal, short for Malcolm. It's not my real name, but I've always liked it so I figured I'd make it my alias for the purpose of this whole thing we've got going here. Unless the moderators have any issues with this joint account shenanigans we're doing, then I'll most likely be the one posting stuff on this forum (and wherever else we'll be active.) I'm also the one who'll be doing the programming on whatever our first project will be. Oh, and speaking of that, please don't get your hopes up at all for whatever garbage we'll be producing. "The first is the worst," as they say, and that'll undoubtedly be true for our first novel. Still, I'm excited to try! Now over to my partner!

Hello everyone. My name is Liz and I shall be the one writing the story for our project. As it stands, our plans have only barely reached the fetal stage of development; we shall not likely be able to provide anything tangible for quite some time. We may also have to enlist the help of someone more visually talented, as neither I nor my partner are particularly - or really, at all - skilled in Daz3D. In fact, neither of us have any usable experience with 3D modelling overall. Nevertheless, if it comes down to it then one of us shall simply have to learn and acquire whatever skills are necessary to continue our endeavour. Thank you all for your time.

Best of luck, I know a few devs who have their SO help them or provide moral support... If you need any advice, feel free to reach out. :)

First of all, I'd like to state up front we both genuinely love your forum title! *Golf-claps*

Secondly, thanks for the welcome! Though I'm not sure I would call Liz my "significant other" even though we are lifelong partners. (After all, SO implies marriage doesn't it?)

And last but not least, I may just have to take you up on the offer of advice. I've never once done any from-the-ground-up developing of a game, even something so simple as a VN. My programming experience so far has been limited to just writing simple QoL mods for various games like Skyrim and Cities: Skylines. But you gotta start somewhere, right?

Welcome! And best of luck to both of you!
Thanks and thanks again! We're definitely gonna need droves of the latter, I'll tell you what.

Yeah, that's what Projekt Moon is about if you go for it... I personally am a fan of pregnancy games. Felt bad pushing devs to add to said fuck it, I'll make one myself. And here I am.

No, it isnt necessarily marriage. Marriage is becoming outdated some places anyway. If you have willingly chosen to work with someone you are romantically engaged with... I would say they apply to be a "significant other".

You have more experience than I did, but Skyrim and C:S code is different. Not sure, but isn't C:S run in Unity? If so, then you have a massive headstart compared to many...

Heh, well... you certainly won't have to twist any of our four collective arms to get us to consider adding impregnation to whatever crappy games we come up with! We're both fans of the stuff, though it may not feature so much in our first project, since it'll likely be something short n sweet to cut our respective teeth on it.

And well, I'd rather not go into the details about our relationship, but let's just say it's not conventional by any means or standards...

...oh, and you give me way too much credit for that modding really. All I did for those mods was to change a few values in the code to tweak them a bit. Any muppet with a basic understanding of coding can do that! :D

Still, you have a small headstart.

Next up, what are you using to make your game? Renpy or Unity or something else... :)

Well as Liz mentioned in the OP, we're still in the earliest stages of development for now. Honestly I'd say she jumped the gun by using the word "fetal;" it's more like we're barely at the conception stage to use that metaphor! But anyway, we're definitely going Ren'Py all the way. It's the easiest to work with, has low system requirements for both developer and player, and uses a more basic and easy-to-learn programming language than Unity. And let's not forget last year's debacle with Unity's shitty announcement regarding licensing fees and whatnot... While our games will probably be freely distributed, neither of us feels the least bit inclined to use Unity if they're gonna be pulling shit like that!

Roger that. Anywho, need advice or something. Keep in touch and best of lucks.
