Well they're not entirely wrong, a lot of people on patreon get more customers thanks to the exposure and publicity given by the piracy websites (f95 for instance).
Of course not all of them are going to be paying, but some of them will. Those ones are earned "thanks to piracy", in an ironical fashion.

Yeah, generally speaking I'm against Piracy so long as there are viable payment methods available, and I would probably prefer people pledge to us even if they end up cancelling before paying, because then at least we get the chance to show rewards that Patrons get. But hey, piracy is and probably will always be a thing, and some of our biggest fans are pirates that talk about us all the time which is free marketing, so...

Cool. I'm considering joining your patreon as well. What I think your game does well is the cat and mouse game played by Carmen. It makes you want to replay again because I find myself second guessing decisions in an attempt to be on the "right path". I found myself asking, "Should I be rude to establish dominance? Or should I play the game to have some fun and get some sexy time?" Crow's corruption is great, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you have planned for Glasha ^_^. I'm all for more human, orc, half orc, vampire, and werewolf babes. Are you planning more races like elves or drow or do you want to keep the story more focused and contained?
And like you were talking about earlier with sites like these. I wouldn't know about your game if I didn't happen to be a member here and stumbled upon this game.

It sounds like you had the intended experience, which is awesome. Game design can be tricky so it's always nice to see the hard work pay off. As for your question, we're keeping the world non-magical for the most part, so no vamps or werewolves, but elves live to the east of Amarinthia. We actually have a short comic that features Carmen with one before the story takes place somewhere on the Patreon. They look very similar to half-orcs (of the more Crow like variety) but their skin is much paler and their ears are somewhat pointed outwards.

I actually thought that Carmen was a vampire. Her looks, physical power, quasi-hypnotic influence... Well, now I find myself a bit at a loss.

It's a common misconception :coldsweat: From what we've seen and heard of Carmen, she's definitely a skilled fighter, but in a fair fight I'd wager Markus, Roman, or Glasha could take her. The problem is that Carmen will never fight fair. She catches people when their guard is lowered, uses their own strength against them, and generally keeps her opponents reacting. This works well for her because the mercenaries are under orders not to harm Carmen.
As for the hypnosis, she's just very persuasive. She's good at reading people and working out what they actually want, and then finding a way to give them a taste of that. We see this in Crow's Shift when Crow initially despises Carmen, but a few hours later is corrupted.
Ouch haha. That's a fair criticism. I think any work of fiction has characters which are as strong as they need to be, whether that's physical strength or any other kind of strength. Establishing a plausible reason for that strength is secondary. In Carmen's case, it's because she's spent the majority of her life training amongst soldiers, learning from seasoned warriors, and studying the battles of past generals. Even before she joined the Sanguine Rose militia, she was a deceptive child. I think if we had more time and resources, I'd want to show more of Carmen's early life, so that her skills are better established. But in a porn game, making more porn scenes is usually what the people want.
