This solution assumes you're running a Wineskin Winery wrapper. If you're running something else, use this procedure as a guide. Run Winetricks and install the dlls listed.
- Right click on your wrapper and select "Show Package Contents"
- Launch Wineskin.app
- Click "Advanced"
- Click "Tools"
- Click "Winetricks"
- Click the arrow by "dlls"
- Select "allcodecs", "devenum", "quartz"
- Click "Run"
- Click "Run" in the popup
- Pick the default selection when installers ask you what to do
- Click "Close"
- Quite Wineskin
When the videos start up a small window will open and take focus, stopping the video. Just click back into the MotH window and things will work fine.
For other wrappers or command line, you want to run winetricks allcodecs devenum quartz .
I have not used WINE on Mac, is there no way to disable winegstreamer on it? I am sure this will disable that popup and the game will behave normally.
@Faerin might want to add our guides running via WINE on Mac and Linux to the first post so it is easy to find, its not till pretty far in the game that these crashes occur.
