I haven't disappointed you yet, have I? Don't worry, Penny for Your Thoughts is going to be amazing. I promise. Is Penny going to be the protagonist of Penny for your Thoughts?
Because i dont like female protagonist Adult games. I wish you make an Avalon 2 game eventually, i like the characters on this game.
No, you havent, this game is awesome and in my opinion you are the Dev that got humor closes to perfect on this site.I haven't disappointed you yet, have I? Don't worry, Penny for Your Thoughts is going to be amazing. I promise.
Oh boy can't wait to meet Leah, please don't change the name!Who is that?
Change her name?? Leah is a great name though! It's an Irish name and she's Irish. As is Byron.
Honestly, I prefer more unique names like Myrabelle and Xianne but I wanted Avalon to be more grounded.
Here you have:Should we expect an incest patch soon? Otherwise the dialogues with Leah are weird sometimes and don't really make sense (Thank you Patreon, NOT, hmpf...).
We need a hero
Yeah I came here looking for same, it just doesn't quite have the same impact when they treat relationships between friends or roommates like some great taboo.Should we expect an incest patch soon? We need a hero
Just started game. Some thoughts.
1) Why "adopted uncle?" What does that even mean? Either make him her mother's brother or father's brother. Or remove the concept of "uncle" entirely and make her something like her father's best friend.
2) why is the guest room already her room? "Always your room already. I haven't changed it." That makes no sense. You're her uncle (adopted, whatever that means), so why would a room at your house already be her bedroom.... and if you had something set up for her, why would she go to a motel first?
3) this game is going to a slog to get through if Byron doesn't shut the fuck up. Take the "did you sleep on the couch because I shouted at you" line. His follow up is
Yeah.
You shook me up pretty good.
I'm a big guy, not many people can rattle me.
But that shout last night...
I didn't see that coming.
Are you part barbarian?
Because I seriously felt the ground shake.
I'm pretty sure there's a crack in the enterence hallway mirror.
Dude... SHUT UP. I don't want dialog so short that it strips the characters of personality, but holy shit, it's like this almost every time he talks.
4) GAME ALTERING PATH!
A decision, from nowhere, where me make a choice to influence the direction of the game... based on what? Who are these people? Why is this choice here? Yes, I know they're mentioned in OP's blurb, by why are we making a choice here? If these are Avalon's friends, wouldn't we meet both, and then have the choice take place, more naturally, later?
Are any of these game breaking?
No.
But it all feels weird, and I'm harshly dialing back my hopes and expectations for this game accordingly. Hopefully, that's hasty on my part and I'll grow to be much more interested in the plot...
Oh boy, you are too nice. Our lord and savior Keanu Reeves would be proud of you.I really don't think you'll enjoy Avalon. It sounds like you'd enjoy work from a developer with a little more experience. I'm still in the early stages and I've got a long way to go. I know Love of Magic is supposed to be really good with a lot more choices and even a gameplay element. Light of My Life has more choices and the dialogue flows better. The Headmaster is a great sandbox-style visual novel with lots of sexual encounters but it uses Honey Select instead of Daz3D.
I certainly want you to have a good experience in this niche of AVNs, even if it isn't with Avalon. Sorry to hear your experience here was less than desirable. Perhaps check back when I start my next visual novel. Thank you for giving it a chance!
It's not uncommon for close family friends to be referred to as uncle even when there's no relation.1) Why "adopted uncle?" What does that even mean? Either make him her mother's brother or father's brother. Or remove the concept of "uncle" entirely and make her something like her father's best friend.
It used to be her family home back when her dad was still alive, her mother moved out when the dad died and gave the house to Byron, Ava still remained close with Byron for many years after her fathers death so it makes sense that guest room would be hers whenever she needed it. As for why she went to a motel, she had cut herself off from Byron in the last couple of years, so she couldn't assume he would still welcome her into his home. Distraught teenagers aren't exactly known for making well thought out decisions.2) why is the guest room already her room? "Always your room already. I haven't changed it." That makes no sense. You're her uncle (adopted, whatever that means), so why would a room at your house already be her bedroom.... and if you had something set up for her, why would she go to a motel first?
Not really seeing a problem here, but to each their own.3) this game is going to a slog to get through if Byron doesn't shut the fuck up. Take the "did you sleep on the couch because I shouted at you" line. His follow up is
...

That's how life works dude, you don't always get to make informed decisions, sometimes you just have to make a choice and see where it takes you. Luckily for you, in this case you get to go back and make a different choice, would be great if life worked that way too.4) GAME ALTERING PATH!

1) Byron was adopted by Frank and Wendy. Their biological daughter, Sharol, had a daughter herself who is Avalon. Byron being adopted is significant to the story because his real father impacts the story. If it's not your thing, that's fine.
2) The guest room is already Avalon's room because it was hers when she was a baby. The house Byron is living in was Avalon's father's house before he passed away. Johnny, Avalon's father, left the house to his wife, Sharol, when he passed but she gave it to Byron when she found it too difficult to live in due to the memories of her husband. It's all explained organically through the story.
3) This is my first visual novel and yes, the dialogue does improve. But Byron is a bit goofy and if that's not your sense of humor, I've listed some recommendations of other games you might find more enjoyable below.
4) Yep, just like every other visual novel, there are choices that don't actually do anything. I'm just more forward about the fact that they're just flavor text. There are four paths in Avalon that are significantly different from one another and you'll have to experience all of them to get 100% of the sex scenes.

Most of his comment were either included in the novel but he could not wait till he kept reading to start complaining or he just complained because he dislike a character.
yeshey guys I have not been playing Avalon for couple of updates, did we get some scenes between Byron and Dallas?
That's Leah from the game "Acting Lessons". She was the one who set the fire at the MC's house. And then you had to choose between the two main girls - you could only save ONE of them.
And ever since then this name is worse to me than Darth Vader...
Alright this is starting to bother me, I'm sorry for posting your whole game but:Ahaha. It's actually kind of perfect! I have a running joke about an 'upcoming fire' in Avalon. It sounds to me like Acting Lessons has soiled the Leah name! And it's up to me to redeem it. I have a responsibility here, KoGa!
