Well, just wait a few hours for the final version and most of it should be fixed. At least I managed to play through mom's story without any issues just now without any fixes.

Every storyline will get at least 2 updates so the only way to avoid playing things several times is to simply not play a story until it's at least finished to the largest degree, like for example Mom's story now.

On several Ren'Py games they won't open any more. Sometimes they say the exe is pissing or just won't open at all and I can't figure out why.

i'm running Windows 10 Home

of course i know it's unfinished,but it's also true that there are a lot of games with less attention but with a good testing before the release of the update
and just to point,i LOVE this game and i followed all the develop like a lot of users in this forum i'm sure,and i'm saying this because i would like to see improvements where's it needs,'cause this is actually i think the 3rd time that is needed an important bugfix after 1 day of the pubblication

That doesn't really change the time table though. Either the internal testing needs longer or they release the game and those who really don't want bugs have to wait. The result will likely be even better for players who want a bug free game since 1000+ players are much more likely and faster to find bugs than just a few testers. A lot of players don't really mind smaller bugs and are happy to help.

To be fair there was a lot of people bitching about the release so I expected to see some game crashing bugs. So best thing to do now is play the game as is and report all the bugs to DC and crew so they can fix them which usually gets posted a day or two after release.

and i'm one of them,i think it's fantastic when a group of indie developers manages to find such a great success deserved
with a cool product and share it with everyone,i'm saying all of this things because i found useless post everytime "great,awesome game,i would like to f*ck the teacher" and blablabla,'cause that will ends in only fan-service.
instead I find it much more constructive to draw attention to a major bug that ruins the gaming experience after a day of release and if I did not give a damn about the game, I would not have posted any comments.
I also think that it is for the same reason that you and many other users defend the game so tenaciously

Please excuse my use of harsh words but what the hell is wrong with these developers?
Instead of creating progress in the game you have to start over and over again with each update.
If you write a story please learn about continuity.
NOBODY wants to see the same thing for hours just to get back to where they were before.
Pissed of and deleting this game NOW

To be fair there isn't many devs on this site that releases an update that doesnt need a bug fix. DC and crew usually have a decent track record when it comes to releasing a stable version down the road. Also theres nothing wrong about voicing criticism that's how things get better, but this update changes the game so even if you could transfer saves it wouldn't work for this version. Also its a patreon game and DC's money making cookie. He has to appeal to the people paying his bills so fan service will always be there just like other games here.

They implement what the community is demanding. In addition full continuity would likely mean whole updates without any major sexscenes and those wouldn't be tolerated either. Hence there is not really a way around the concept of base story lines (including final h scenes) which then will be improved and extended via several updates.

Most likely none will work, if that's what your save is also. We can try it, but more than likely ANY save from previous versions won't work. Don't think there is a workaround.
