I dunno... I realize it's just a fictional place created for the primary purpose of fapping, but I just get a sort of NYC or Chicago vibe to the setting.
Babysitter has also decent renders and a bit of a build-up before full HC...
Forgotten about Ibiza being 3h flight from GB and there are also Australia and New Zealand. Check your maps gents!
1) I've been studying American history and culture for ten years now at an academic level, I'm about to complete a PhD in American studies, I've been in the States several times, taught in a college there for a whole year once, so no, I don't think I needed a fact-checking trip.
2) As a matter of fact, my recent trip in the US was for research purposes, and I mean university research, I buried myself in a library reading postmodernist theory and XIX century lierary criticism. DMD is an important project, but it is definetely not my main job, and if you think that mrdots leads a studio rich enough to send its collaborators around the world just for the sake of enhancing the verisimilitude of the game's setting I'm afraid you are gravely misguided.
3) Whatever you might think of it, we decided long ago to avoid as many references as possible to any real place in our world, so to maximize the potential for players' identification wherever they live. You might as well imagine that the game is set somewhere in Europe, with an English "dub" and a loose adaptation (dollars) for an American public. I myself like to think that DMD is simply set "out there". That said, you are completely entitled to think that "your" DMD is an American story - that's actually exactly the result we hoped to achieve: every player can decide where the story is taking place without being disrupted in his/her belief by sudden references to actual places.
4) As for the hair, you know what I meant.
Actually I think there might even be an in-game dialogue clarifying the issue once and for all in the next instalment - not sure though. Be it as it may, at least in that very specific respect DMD is indisputably a story set in a imaginary world.

As for the hair thing, I really thought it was obvious I was talking about pussy hair. I was quoting some actress or singer whose name I cannot recall right now who once said that in her opinion no girl should have any hair below her neck. This issue has been already discussed in this forum and on the patreon page, plus it's a porn game we are talking about, so I was really sure everybody would have understood what I was hinting at.
As for the setting, I think it's pretty clear that the world of the game shares all the taboos and common assumptions of our globalized western society. Don't think anybody playing it ever had any reason to think otherwise. The only "peculiar" aspect (apart from the hair thing - that is little more than an inside joke anyway) is that its exact location is left very, very hard to discern. I don't understand what's so confusing or annoying about it really.

I started contributing around v.0.0.7. Keeping the game consistent is hard when different writers contribute their scenes, but I think a general revise to make everything coherent is scheduled as soon as chapter 1 is finished. Hope not to spoil things for d, I've come to like her a lot, like anybody else apparently,

My understanding is MrDots was the entire team when this projects started. Interesting thing about Patreon is the patrons advocate and MrDots has been open to responding to those advocacy points. That alone accounts for some continuity issues that are adjusted on backstory as time allows for this progressing game.
Part of the blame rests on patron inputs - including mine.
As far as hairless goes, I don't have much of a problem with it whether male or female. I suppose it depends on your comfort level, your internal expectations, and the like. I believe all visuals are entirely a MrDots decision. I'd be interested in where someone said the lack of hair was a time/expense decision, as I thought it was an artistic choice. From MrDots level of render quality, I am suspicious in a claim he was trying to save time or expense. But could be wrong.

I have to agree with Aitan_3 that the location of the game is simply "out there" and have never tried to rationalize where "out there" could be, because in the end does it really matter? Living in North America from the center of either Canada or the US you can pretty much fly to the ocean on either coast in 3 hours. But realistically if I want to go to the beach I can hop in the car and drive 40 minutes instead of jumping on a plane to LA or Vancouver... I prefer to experience the game in it's own little fictional world.

yeah, I definitely like babysitter too. and I have since pledged on Patreon. About to terminate Mother Seduction. that one, the visuals are pretty good (except sister's hair is terrible), but the grammar is terrible.
