Does the translation display window not have a transparency option? I just figured I could put the display neatly in place with magpie's desktop duplication option and have it be visible with always on top, but it's a bit annoying to have a black/colored rectangle covering the screen.

As long as he does not put DRM on it, it is fine. If there are enough users interested in his software, then having the community mirror it every once in a while is a worthwhile trade off for the dev to continue their development and encourage, but not require, people to donate. If that is how the dev wants to give away his software, it is a worthwhile trade off vs it going closed source, getting drm'd or fully paywalled.
Isn't it also available on kemono since they don't put any measures to check. As long as you have the original download url you can get it, and that one leaks pretty fast.

Does anyone here have Deepl working in T++?
Textractor(x86)+deepl works for me if that is what you are asking...

Download link changes quickly so not always... though it is working for now. (27th import)

Cohere is rad. Their recent model to be on par with older GPT-4 / Claude 3 Sonnet in Japanese to English translation while being totally open source.

The downside is that it's monolithic and corporate oriented so you need to have at least 300Gb HDD space/100Gb RAM/Tesla A40 or two to run it smoothly. That also means that adding moans knowledge to it would not be easy, but who knows. Maybe Sugoi will take on a new qualitative leap with this.

Did someone else try that with hentai?

Sugoi_Toolkit_v8.0

For preservation.
And also modified menu for those who don't want to see the site every time (file with the original window included).
Thank you, windows decided it was a good time to break anything that uses tcp for some weird reason. I learned my leason and I will keep a copy just in case something break again

If you run the local Sugoi server then you can translate using your own hardware instead of cloud translations. Then you can translate as much as you want. It is worth it to get CUDA or CTranslate2 running if you are able as that speeds up translations immensely.

So Textractor good, fast and pretty simple to use but fail to find hook code sometime (or maybe many more time...so happen with some TinkerBell Visual Novel that i try to play) that when i try to find another solution and got Lunar Translator, i think Lunar Translator better at find and get hook code but it got too many setting o_O that why for now don't know how to make it do offilne translate so the online translate is not fast enough... now this Sugoi Translator as some tutorial i watch, feel like it capture the screen and translate the text just like what we do with hand+smartphone+google trans on a computer screen so no need hook code or limited by game engine and it work with most everything since it just screen capture? What you guys think Textractor, Lunar Translator or Sugoi Translator which one is better (for Visual Novel)?

You can try (better to find hooks than Textractor) AND sugoi translator offline. Alternatively you can try Visual novel OCR+sugoi offline. i personally use lunahook with newer VNs because it is easier to find hooks that way.

if your offline translate is slow you can use CT2 script and CUDA script. included script seems broken.

May i ask where i can down Visual novel OCR+sugoi offline separate from the rest, because the free link from the dev is about 7GB+ but i need the translate function only.

There is only one link for every Sugoi toolkit version so no seperate link.

You can try "translator++" which supports GPT and koboldAI. i never used it though. There should be a topic about it.

Visual Novel OCR Web Site :
old version :
youtube demo :

In my opinion, there is not much difference in usage and effect between the old version and the new version.

There is something called pyugt : . I think it is more convenient and simpler to use than Visual Novel OCR.

However, Visual Novel OCR and pyugt both use Tesseract-OCR, which requires adjustment for the recognition of images with color backgrounds. It is more troublesome and the effect is not good. If Tesseract-OCR is replaced by Microsoft OCR, the recognition will be better a lot of.
