Because it will be a stream of money, since it will be on Steam.

Update a game that only a niche player base knows about (IaS), or put a game that is really good on Steam that will sale really well? No brainer...
This one of the developers you can get behind because they are thinking from a business sense and being frank about their intentions. Need to have solid cash flows to keep other development rolling.

Same cannot be said about about other developers, some very well known who string their patrons along to focus on Steam releases without just laying out the transparency. Some of those well known developers have shot down their credibility and look like a horses ass along the way. Hint the developers who jacked up their progress bar and had testing for months!

They've were open about what they were doing to from the jump, so we all knew this would be a while before we would see it again. I'm fine with Personal Trainer getting updated to today's standards, it was good back then, plus it should be fun for incest fans who have never played it.

It will be one to add the Steam collection, and I think more are inclined to make a one-time purchase to support developers than constantly sub to Patreon.

Bottom line, if his Patreon's are fine with it, that is all that matters.

They are working on the other game for a STEAM release, Personal Trainer, until that is DONE, there will be no updates to IaS!
Wtf that sucks.
IaS is a million times better.
Steam not even worth the censor dev time. Purity spiral madness going on these days.
Gamejolt + other Indy dev platforms would do better for less effort. (As long as platform tax is lower than steam)

It's still a niche game. It's had 5 or so updates and we are only on page 66, and not many are flocking to support it.

So, yes, Steam is worth it. He doesn't have to censor ANYTHING. Steam doesn't care about incest, they only care about sex in high school, girl in high school uniforms, under age looking characters and any wording with high school.

He is just remastering and adding in some more things to Personal Trainer which is a good game in its own right.

Literally how 'niche' we talking?
PT got 'landlady' game mechanics bro. Those 'porn popularity' credits don't exactly cross over to fuggin normies.
Also how much dev time does dialogue scripts take? ITS BEEN MONTHS.
It's either:
1. PT is steam store progress being sabotaged by fucking fake puritanical steam store moderators AGAIN. Holding up everything.
2. pt being reworked entirely for some reason
3. General mismanagement shenanigans

What?

So, what "land-lady mechanic's"? Again, Steam does not care about incest.

Niche as in compared to a lot of games, it's highly rated, but it's still not that popular, barely any comments in here, some games haven't had an update for a year/6 months and it gets pages of comments a day.

Go back and he said he just had a kid a couple of months ago, so that put the biggest "dent" in everything. He's been working on PT in his free-time with the new born kid and real job.

PT is being reworked because it's not actually complete. There's no real endings, and a vast majority of the routes cut off halway through. It's labeled as complete on F95 because Domiek basically just discontinued it and said it was done. Thing is, he can't actually sell an unfinished product, so because he needs money he's finishing it up and bringing it up to modern standards.

And like other guy said, Steam doesn't care about Incest, just about any mentions of underaged characters (Because allowing games that portray possibly underage characters is bad for business).

Wish there was a progress meter on PT's release though, I actually want to play it again

I want to add that Steam readily accepted the pre-refresh version of PT for sale. I had to submit the original game early in the process to get the Steam page approved. My intensified focus on the Steam release is driven by personal reasons – specifically, my discomfort at the thought of charging for a product that's riddled with bugs and left many feeling unsatisfied with the ending. On Patreon, supporters fund a developer's creative journey, whereas on Steam, customers purchase a product. This fundamental difference is the reason behind my temporary shift in development efforts from In a Scent to PT.

Opting for the most profit-oriented strategy would have meant spending just a month on PT, fixing critical bugs before releasing the game on Steam. That's what I originally intended but my conscious didn't allow it. Although the extra time and effort I've put in may not directly translate into increased revenue, it will at least allow me to sleep easy at night and be proud of what I've created.

I understand that it's a big disappointment to those who don't care about PT and just want more of IaS. I've been transparent with my supporters on Patreon throughout the process. The beta build of PT is almost ready for release on Patreon, which will allow me to shift more development back onto In a Scent. After Steam, it's back to full focus on IaS and spreading the love of Gary.

The problem with releasing PT in it's current state isn't with Steam itself, but with the customers.

If I bought PT off of steam as a new customer in it's current state then I'd be hard pressed to ever spend money on a game from you again, and I'd be pissed (Since I paid for a seemingly unfinished and buggy game that was labeled as complete)

Like I said, the routes feel like they either don't have an actual ending or that they're unfinished. The muscle girl for example doesn't lead to an ending, you do the rimjob scene and it ends right there (Or around there).

That's what I meant by not being able to sell an unfinished product on Steam. The platform allows it, but you have a high risk of alienating your customers and getting flooded with negative reviews.

In any case, I look forward to PT's release, have it wishlists on Steam already

EDIT:
Missed the part that differentiates patreon from Steam, that's essentially what I meant. On Patreon it's alright not to complete PT because you weren't obligated to polish and bring every route to a satisfying end, but on Steam it's expected for the product to be that way.

Not polishing it and finishing it would mean alienating the Steam user base that purchased your game.

Thanks for the update PT was one of the best games I have played, you deserve to get paid for your work.

Hope your game gets finished soon
