Yes, you have to download new version everytime if you want to play newest version of the game. If you don't want to do this buy the game on steam, it will update your game and you won't have to download it again when an update is released.do i have to download new version everytime and play game from new files or can i still play with my old files

If fighter, make money and level up the halbert damage as much as the game lets you. This is the most important thing to level up as it greatly increases damage.
If you're doing a slut build. Make sure you have the titfuck/vaginal sexskills unlocked and most importantly having healing thoughts mind skill unlocked.
Either way if you're still stuck after, might be time to reset.
I mean, I'm sure with the way they're coding it now, yes, it would require too much work. My issue is that from the offset, the new art assets should have been coded as a swap and not a hard coded replacement (they did it with the other cosmetic toggles). It's extremely common practice to work any potential cosmetic changes into toggles separate from a base model. The issue here is that they seemingly didn't plan for that, so now we're stuck with how things are atm.As much as I'd prefer old face, choosing to support both art styles would be really poor decision.
It would unnecessarily increase complexity of the code, increase development time, increase time of fixing future problems or adding new features, and add new bugs (since code became more complex). Furthermore, it would be either extremely hard or impossible to make cimpatibility code that adapt old layering to new without redrawing old layers. And if you want to redraw them, artist workload would also increase.
For me it would be way more rediculous if they have actually decided to implement that toggle with the team of two people. Let's go, +1 year ETA!
I like the new art. Alot. Her body is filled out in a more consistent way (biggers hips/ass) and is way more emotive. The option to toggle between them seems like a pretty obvious no brainer. Even if it wouldnt work with the newest P-cup DLC or whatever. Maybe enough harrassment will get em to add the feature.Am I the only one who likes the new art style?

If by common practice in development you refer to "feature toggling", then you might misunderstood its purpose. I don't fault them since they're a small team and at the of the day it's the dev's choice, but it's at least something for them to keep in mind for any future projects. No point in burning bridges unnecessarily as a dev, imo.
Thank you.For those who are trying to run this on Steam deck without buying the game, the best solution is to simply add it as a non-steam game and force its compatibility with proton experimental. You don't need to add it using lutris, and if you do that, then it will simply not run
