No, he didn't "get out of the way" when he learned about the mod. He knew about the mod long before he joined the Discord channel. He had such a strong work ethic and drive to innovate with his game the only thing I can imagine stopping him are death or imprisonment - so I hope I'm wrong and he did just move on
Considering before the last release Vren was in the middle of trying to port the game to using live2d models, which had taken up way more time than was expected, and that people were voicing concerns that the new system looked worse than the old one I could actually see that demotivating him. This was also being treated as an excuse to learn about coding, and the future was going to be many hours of mindlessly importing the live2d images into the game. It would also be a pretty big coincidence for the game to get an "open source" release just before Vren's death or imprisonment.

Anyone know how to change eye colour?
There is a trait called ocular dyes that can change eye color, you'll need to research synthetic hair bleach to unlock it. Though I don't really remember if it was in this version of the game or not, might just be the modded version? Been so long since I played the game without the mod.

There must be some way in the code.
Doesn't make sense to have to change family eye-colour with serum half way through.
But at least it would be something.

I decided to play this through.
So far it's struck me as much less of a kinetic, sloppy harem-centric fuckfest.
The girls seems to leave me alone, as opposed to unwantingly landing on MC's dick with him insufferably saying how (you) want it so bad.
Modded is also very cucky; and the girls are much, much more whorish: both in the text and mechanics.

Just tried this game and found it overwhelming. I liked the concept, but just couldn't understand the research paths, and missed the first contracts. After that, the second week I came to work on a Saturday to barely make the second contracts, and all the serums produced that day disappeared into thin air. Probably missing something, or maybe a bug.

Would it help if I played the first game before, to better understand how the serums work?

The first game is not necessary or helpful to understand the systems in this one. It was mainly just a VN with a smidgen of management. Take Over is a lot like it was. For learning this game, I wrote a few guides that are linked in the OP that might help

Thanks for the reply. I checked your guide, and I now realise I made many mistakes. I'll give it one more try and see how it goes. By the way, excellent guide. (y)

No, they are completely different (even if the first game can seen as an introduction to the story of the second game).
You could try the modded version, where you can choose an easier start if you want (more money). Besides that the mod is still in development and has more content.
I would like to play the modded version eventually, but I wanted to check out the original first. If I find it too difficult I'll definitely play the mod next.

May I ask how to translate it into Chinese
Either know or learn English, which is the language the game is written in, and Chinese, or use a translation tool like Google translate. Determine which text in the .rpy files is code and which is UI/display text and dialog. Translate the UI/display and dialog text only, not the code, and replace it with Chinese in the .rpy files

Can anyone help translate it? Or help mark the files to let me know which files need to be translated. thank you all.
