Lol, yeah, figured it out after a while, ( it's just that, I feel like you used to be able to save presets ( human form, ( at least when I first played the game ), might be mistaken, but, yeah, it was confusing at first.
I haven't checked the latest versions too much (I mean the ones with the new GenshinImpact-y UI and stuff) so I'm not sure exactly which things changed. I'm just speaking from the things I know from the previous creation system XD

has anything changed since that UI change that took forever?
One nice adition that Derelict added is that you no longer need to fuck nephs on the breeding yard to get them pregnant. You can get them pregnant if you do Wild Sex with them while they're set as vagrants. Before only you could get pregnant yourself if you do it that way. Mind you that this also makes them likeable to get pregnant between each other. So if you have two vagrants and they decide to teach the locals how the arts of SnuSnu works, the receiver of the funtime can get prego hehe

So, to refresh everyone's memory, since I know someone is going to ask why updates take so long (They always do every time an update drops) here's the story so far. If anyone knows what Breeding Season is, congrats. You're classy. If you don't, Breeding Season is effectively what BotN is the spiritual successor of. It was the first time a game made a genuine and successful breeding mechanic that didn't break three generations in.

It's development team is also the victim of internal politics and backstabbing, leading to the game meeting an unfair end. Derelict Helmsman wishes to avoid that fate, so develops BotN alone.

As you can guess, his fanbase is divided on whether or not that was the right call, but in the end it's his choice.

You really don't know how people can work together, right? I mean with this logic, everybody should work alone in the world for anything because of fear of others. All the game devs should be alone and indie..

But no, the world does not work like that. He choices to do this "alone" but not for those reasons at all. He wanted to do it alone to get all the money and all the control. If he had work with someone else, they could easily tell you that he does not doing any stuff for 3 to 5 years at all.

AND he does not work alone anymore as the whole UI done by others and I fixed/redone the game design/systems. He did only the sponsorship code for the toy company for extra money.

I am making my own game with a full time coder and other people for extra stuff like voice acting, music, sound editing, story telling, testing. My previous coder left and I got another one and go on. This is how you do things properly.

Just because somebody failed in whole industry, it does not mean you will fail too, but as I know DH, I am sure he would fail because of his bad and selfish decisions.

Breeding Season failed because of the unexperienced main developer and an asshole artist. Yeah there are bad people out there but you get experience and go on.

i agree a little with the spirit of your argument but not really with the conclusions you draw. i dont know of DH is or isnt a bad person or is selfish or whatever. but what i can say is i think theres something to be said about creative control. which is the part thats the spirit i mentioned. imo DH would prefer slow updates but to where the game is 100% his creative work in terms of direction in an executive sense, i dont think thats a wrong wish to have as a game dev generally speaking. dont get me wrong i want updates to this game pretty bad- buuuut since im effectively getting this game for free on top of the fact its in a playable decent state its not exactly worth complaining about or being opinionated over.

You don't understand. Working with other people is irrelevant with the creative control. You can hire people to do what you want. This is how it works. You boss tells you what to do and you get paid. So I don't understand how you connected these 2 different things.

People seem to be confusing big time, specially the DH likes, as well as most his supporters, that there's difference between founding partners like how Breeding Season started (and ended abruptly) and employees under a main developer's leadership like say MrZed from Skyflare (The creator of Kinky Fight Club and Solas City Heroes), whom many not be doing all the work but supervise everything amd things are done under his request. Which ironically is what DH does, however by doing the "not officially hire process so I dont have to pay their expenses" kind of way. Which is a big dick move. Specially cause the updates' speed goes as fast as if he's doing everything by himself.... Except he doesn't. As Drages, btw, former coder of BotN (my respects for that man), mentioned, the UI was made by a UI designer who lets adress the elephant in the room. Have played far too much Genshin Impact, half the code was made by Drages, part of the translations were made by people like me who volunteered once but almos had to do a full job cause the guy couldnt understand something so basic that English and say Portugues, Spanish, Italian, whatevs, gendering system doesnt work in the same way and the quoting systems required individual pages for feminine and masculine characters cause half half the lines in the game that in English are gender neutral in others they arent. And when I left that team he didnt implemented such, been that it was asked sinxe before I joined and after I left wasnt still there. And so on....

Don't get me wrong, I love BotN and it's possibilities, as well as how hot and adorable some characters amd interactions feel, but you know, is one of those games where the fun needs to pass for some many hoops to start being such that it can be hairpulling at times and then you see how updates go.... Then the part that you dont even know if you should be hyped about another update cause that means another save wipe and "May the SaveEdit be with you, my padawan" situation repeats.

Just wanna correct this that, I am just a designer and tester. So I made the systems, created the formulas, connections, designs and gave them to DH and checked/tested the results with him everything I made for the game. For that reason, the most bug free and working system build is the one before the UI update. I am not a coder. I just tell what to code :).

He tried to change the system with bunch of discord fanboys and mods which probably don't have any idea about designing this type of complex stat interactions. The result is still unknown.. we don't know what they try to do or what is working and what not even after 2 years.

But in the end, DH is done with the game.. he still uses mental problem card for 3. year.. The game is so big to stop milking. I don't think he can add more after this point without a miracle or sell/give the game someone else.

I mean, that sounds even better than the role I described so XD

But IDK I just don't get the whole idea of milking a project forever, doing nothing for it and ALSO not allowing anyone to help on it and shit. Even from a pure greed point of view that's still stupid as it makes less profit than doing it that way.

Tho TBF, is not the first time I see both triple A studios and indie devs doing dumb moves that even if they're moved by greed is still counterproductive to them. Cause like, dude, if all you care is making more money there's a trillion better ways to do so while effectively multiplying the gains without deliberately pissing the fuck off your clientelle/playerbase.

Anyway, been thinking on getting into Unreal to make my own project. Something completely different to BotN but my concern is how long is gonna take for a relatively absolute begginer to get a playable game XD

You and I both. Driven for love of games, wanting to make them, and tired of a whole lot of perpetual patreon cash-voids. (BoTN, WildLife, FallenDoll, MGI, etc)

Can you give traits etc. through a save editor? <3
I'm not sure if you can with saveeditor, I know you can with BOTN Tools, but it's so out of date. No one seem to know who created the program to make an update on it, because that tool was so handy, turning yourself into a nephelym without a spirit form, adding any traits that you want on yourself, or a nephelym. Getting a better chance to have hybrids when turning yourself into a normal nephelym, or a hybrid would work too, might take regular time to produce one. Not sure, been so long since I last played it.

What is the orange bar and what is the blue bar in the top left corner?
Blue I think is spirit energy. You need this metamorphosis into a Nephilim Spirit.
I think orange is your health bar. Upon depletion, you will come to find yourself in the embrace of death...
Literally.

Hey Drages, or anyone who know's how to mess with Unreal games. I know this is very unlikely to be possible in this case but is there a way to mess with the game's textures? Like for example being able to change the design of some of the character's tattos.
