New update's out, although my anti-virus flagged it and immediately sent it into quarantine. I'm guessing it's a false positive, and , but I have a feeling this might be connected to how my computer went haywire when I first started up the last update. I suspect the antivirus may have actually quarantined some of my sound and/or mouse drivers when the game tried to interact with them, which is... very unusual. I already had my suspicions at the time, but seeing something similar happen now has me wondering if the game has some behavior that's causing these flags. Even false positives usually don't get such an extreme response.

...And it's doing some really stupid stuff when I try to get it to restore the file, so it might be a bit before I can actually play.

I've needed to do two quick bug fixes tonight already anyway, so it may be for the best that you had to wait (will probably have to redownload though).

Oh dang, I've already started the run. If you're still tweaking, there's an issue with the dungeon song list going behind the UI in lower resolutions. I've got other stuff in my in-progress bug/feedback list, but that's the only "definitely a bug" for now. I'll save the rest for when I'm finished. (The description of "No skill teaching" may also be worth making more clear as to how it affects imprinting.)

Edit: And I'm guessing one of the bugs you already know about is the fact that curses start out with +1 level even if you didn't take that NG+ option? Kind of a big, immediately-problematic thing.


Edit 2: Alright, I've gotten as far as I can in this run without bugs making the rest completely pointless. Including the main scene I was going for. Ugh. Here's my report/feedback so far:

The music selection list in the dungeon ends up getting cut off behind the knights' status UI on lower resolutions, even in compact UI mode.


All my curses are at +1 level despite not taking that NG+ option.


Something's up with the mantras and/or the new thing showing how much control it will use, as my knights keep waking up even when it shouldn't be eating up the whole meter.

On a related note, if you select the same option twice before confirming it, the visual will show it eating up twice the meter.


Checking the curse available in the Eschahn Shrine just says "null" (at least for Nature's Reclamation). Edit: This stopped happening in subsequent visits, even for Nature's Reclamation. And I feel like this isn't the first time that's happened...


Hey, guess which trap is still bugged? Hole of Nothing! Now, trying to click on it where the knight would be while she's "Lost" causes nothing to happen. Like, including focusing the cursor on the room.


Err, I'm guessing "Rearm time: 46.875" is a bug.


Not a "bug" per se, but the "Other Knights 2" scene still ends with a note saying the "Other Knights 3" scene hasn't been implemented yet.


I still don't have the "Corrupt" command despite starting with that NG+ option. (This was a thing in the last version, too.)


Was the effect of Sheltered changed, or am I thinking of a different curse? I don't see it mentioned in any of the recent changelogs. However, the Rank 2 effect of the skill says it causes you to get Captive and Shaken after getting Well Rested, but all it actually does is the original version of the curse (or some other curse): Cause the AI to not leave the safe room.


...Oh. So I'm guessing one of those emergency bugfixes was the fact that the "Other Knights 3" event just straight up doesn't trigger when you "buy" it. Goddammit. That was, like, the entire reason I wasn't waiting.

Edit: Nope, still not working even in the fixed version. Assuming that's the one that's posted here. I don't even know what's going on anymore. You should probably say like "Beta 1.0.1" even if it's just from a quick fix ten minutes after the initial upload.


I've gotten hit a lot (at least 10-15 times) by Lady Ambrelin while she had less than 50% health and wasn't guarded, but can't seem to trigger her other scene.

...Uhhhhh, and I killed her with sex and now Lucette is stuck sexing nobody. Also, still no quest credit from the sex kill.

Not sure what the point is in using a hole-puncher on the side of the NG+ bonus selection. I guess it's supposed to be a circle for adding a check mark or something, but it doesn't really fit with the little floating white particles (both literally and figuratively).

On that note, the "M S E" stuff on the bottom is definitely gonna confuse people. It's not immediately obvious that the pages are associated with Melos, Syra, and Eschahn (I remember feeling proud of myself for figuring that out like four months after I first saw it), and even then, it's not gonna be immediately obvious that's what the MSE stands for. Not to mention, I'm not sure why it even needs to be visible there? Not that I usually complain about too much info, but if even the reason for it's existence isn't clear, then that just makes it even harder to figure out the meaning.


Does the "No skill teaching" option also prevent imprinting? The description says you can still memorize, but doesn't say you can still imprint. But "No skill imprinting" is a separate selection which isn't a prerequisite for "No skill teaching". And an "imprint only" option WOULD be a good difficulty customization option, so I'm gonna assume that's what this is, in which case the tooltip should be made more clear. Otherwise... Yeah, fix whatever part of that needs fixing.


When opening the song list, some indicator of which song is currently playing would be nice.


The threat health/counter bars feel like they might be one pixel too close to the room border. Maybe it's because the bar border is too close in color to the room border, and it feels like they bleed into each other.


I can't seem to figure out what the criteria are for the new mantras? I thought it was just the control level, but Lucette lost the ability to get the Focus Mantra at the same time she gained the ability to get the Combat Mantra. (Still haven't seen Maid Mantra yet, or any sign of how I would get it outside the tent stuff.)

In the "Raine/Lucette Sex 2" scene, Raine should have responded to Lucette's "come now" comment with, "Wait, was that just a turn of phrase, or are you asking me to cum? Because this is just a strap-on, and--" (That's actually something I've always wanted to see in "evil mind controller monologues to his victim" scenes. The E.M.C. offhandedly says "come now" and has to stop for a second because and wait for his victim to finish cumming.)

Edit 3: ...Wait, was the fixed version already posted when you said that? I thought you said you were still working on putting together some bugfixes, and I swear the thread title still said "Alpha 16"... So what *were* the bugs that you fixed? Because now I'm not sure which parts of my post are relevant or not.

So I can't trigger Other Knights 3, though I did manage to see the Good Faith one. I thought maybe I needed to trigger Other Knights 2, but discovered myself unable to trigger any of the floor-end scenes (I'm assuming I need those to trigger Other Knights 1). Likewise, I can't trigger normally, from NG+, any of the older knight's scenes (relaxing, frank talk, curiosity, etc.) that I've previously unlocked outside of the research notes. Not sure if this is intended or not (time saved, but bonuses lost and also no scene progression).

I will also add that I AM able to get the Corrupt command from NG+, unlike Rosen.

Other than that, just rushed and unlocked the 2 newest camp scenes (can't trigger Raine's fishing one from last update which I hadn't unlocked yet, which I'm guessing is because I can't trigger the relaxing scene either). Haven't tested anything else, haven't found the boss(?) enemies either.

Given any amount of difference between Rosen's bugs and mine, I hope it's not an "easy" fix of deleting save data and starting over :p

Because that's also something that stuck around even after I grabbed the other version, but I'm not sure if that's just because it wasn't fixed. I don't want to start a new run to test yet because I'm just a few clicks away from the Other Knights 3 scene that took me hours to get to from the start of the run...

I'm too brainlet for the gameplay, does anyone just have a save with the researches unlocked?
I've got one with only a few missing, but there's currently a bug blocking a plot-critical scene, so I'll hold off on sharing until I've got that.

That would be rather nice. I appear to have just lost my save which I'd spent the last 5 hours or so working on so I'm a bit frustrated and in the mood to skip some of the grind. Normally I wouldn't but repeating myself is soul-crushing.

Just putting it out there on the MC part as the game is in early development..just why stick to having male for MC why not give options for a female MC..just sayin' as I've been on f95 and really the push on games overall for male MC specific is a bit much given the LGBTQ+ community going full throttle in today's society.
You haven't actually played the game, have you

Haven't seen this reported here (apologise if it was and I missed it). So
1. game crashes when casting a spell targeting an ally (i.e. Unbinding) and clicking on portrait instead of the Select button
2. Visual hints in the mind control bar stack when I select multiple actions without enacting them (only a visual glitch, actual control changes are working correctly)
3. Clicking on a curse in a Shrine gives "null" as a description for the first time (have to cycle through ranks for descriptions to reappear)

Basically just to make the particles, and therefore what options you have selected, a bit easier to see (since it's white particles on light background).

Emergency bugfix 1: Fix an issue that was causing save files from A16 to not update properly to B1.
Emergency bugfix 2: Fix an issue that was causing monster/traps to not be properly identified when assessing requirements for various effects ("monsterid", "monsterhastag", "monsterhasstatus", etc.).

Huh. Looking at this, it's probably been broken for months actually. It's supposed to open that ally's stat page but tries to refer to nodes in places that they haven't been since the last time I changed the structure of the full stat page, which was a while ago.

I'm surprised no one mentioned that Lucette's Aspiring skill is bugged. It's supposed to do damage to the trap but it actually doesn't do anything. If I activate it immediately, the HP bar for the trap isn't shown. If I try to use it to get the moral bonus, it does no damage.

And IDK if this is a bug but when I'm trying to manipulate the girls, the bar isn't even emptied before I am forced out of doing anything to them after 3 moves. I'm glad the game said I didn't lose favor with the knights, but its baffling how its only three things at the start of the game and moves a huge chunk of the control bar.

And I think this last one is my fault and me being stupid. I started NG+ and the game didn't put the spells that I carried over on so when I'm doing my dungeon run, I'm wondering "Why are the knights not getting thorns?" and then I checked after I bought Withdrawal from the Witch and none of them were on and I'm like "God, I'm stupid" :KEK: but I want to make sure it's not just me whose spells aren't turned off despite selecting them in NG+ (I will feel less stupid).

And the game crashes randomly again. IDK what the trigger was besides "It's Lucette again". I also noticed that the game was showing me events I already seen despite putting it on "New events only" and then when I turned it off, the game crashed on Lucette's turn.

I've put up a bugfix version and updated all the links and such. It may not have 100% of everything fixed, but it should be a lot better than Beta 1.
Also I forgot to update the text on the main menu to say Beta 1.1 but the filename will at least say 1.1 so you rename your game exes for some reason it shouldn't be too confusing what version you have.

Before I go through an entire run again to see if that fixes it, can you confirm that you properly hooked up "Other Knights 3" and didn't just make "Good Faith Offer" repeatable? It could just be because I'm loading a run from a previous version, but I don't see how that would specifically cause GFO to start repeating.

Edit: Okay, wait. I did get OK3 to show up, but it seems to be random what appears, and that includes GFO despite already having seen it. I'm gonna check if OK3 ends up being repeatable from this as well. Probably still counts as a bug, but not an emergency one.

Edit 2: Okay, the scene is repeatable. But I guess that's fine. Time to end the run and then upload my save to the people who were-- ...It didn't get added to my research log. I'm guessing that's related to the same issue that makes it repeatable, because the Wrath curse I researched just before talking to Coraline did get saved.

Speaking of ending the run, maybe it's best not to label the abandon run button under "data deletion" and give the message "delete it now" when it's actually the only(?) way to SAVE your data before clicking "New Game" without winning/dying? I was sitting there sweating and making sure I read everything properly before I clicked that button with the explicit intention of saving the meta file so I could share it.


As for the scene itself, I'll admit it's anticlimactic, though a lot of that is gonna be because of the whole "wait three more days so you can actually see it without bugs" thing. I was hoping that, even though we probably wouldn't get the third knight's name yet, Coraline would at least tell us about Olivia as a compromise. (Especially with the tease that she might show up in person in the next update, which I hope will still happen even if she's not voted on to be the main focus.) Also, typos: Coraline says "chang her mind", and I think at one point she says "It's" with a capital I despite not being the start of the sentence.

So this isn't as complete as I'd like, but here's my Meta file for now. It should go in "Users > [Name] > AppData > Roaming > Godot > app_userdata > Going Deeper". Still missing from the research log are the sex scenes from the Shadow Doppelganger, Hungry Room, and Drider (along with some scene that happens during sex with the Drider), one of Lady Ambrelin's attacks, and one story scene with Coraline (which just ends on a cliffhanger anyway). Also some skills and spells, but there are no scenes associated with that. Note that there are also story scenes that aren't included in the research log and happen as you progress through the dungeon. I *think* my current NG+ setup should let you auto-play down far enough to see Coraline's introductory scene as long as you send the knights back to rest every time they lose the Well-Rested buff. At that point you can view the Other Knights 3 scene for yourself, and maybe even get the quest to fight the Drider and/or Lady Ambrelin.

Continues run with the new beta patch. Patch removes all event scenes in the dungeon and I have to start from scratch. And I was at 99%...

Um, wow. That did not happen for me. Both continuing my run in progress, and starting a new run, my research notes seem to be intact. But, hey, good timing for me uploading my meta save, right?

I'm so sad. When I booted the game up again, I lost everything and gotta start over ;v; But its one of those games that won't take long.

In other news, Lucette is bugged because every time I try to do something with her, the game crashes.

I'm not having any problems like yours. For the most part, I've not experienced any issues doing a full run after the recent bugfix (huzzah!).

Did you perhaps start in the middle of a run after downloading a new version? While I can't help you figure out what it is specifically, it sounds like a problem happened somewhere on your end.

One thing I've yet to test is why the "Other Knights 3" scene did not unlock in research after seeing it. My current guess is because I viewed both it and the "Good Faith Offer" scene in the same dream cycle.

Edit: Just remembered, I found a potentially unintended interaction. When scene hunting with the hungry wall, I allowed Raine to get caught in sex with the thing. But when I sent Elli to go free her, on Raine's turn, Raine would immediately get caught in sex again without attacking (this despite the fact that the monster's counter gain was +16 in a 0/27 bar). While Raine suffered no damage, Raine and Elli repeated this start-stop loop until I sent Lucette to help (though I could have let the corruption break happen and killed it that way).
