I agree. In my mind options given to the player should not result in game over and should serve an actual purpose. Look at all Telltale games. Every choice is meaningful, their consequences can be hard to predict and it feels very engaging.

I tend to stay away from games that include:
1. Incest and/or beastiality- Family and animals are a no-go for me
2. Lolicon and/or shotacon- character age and/or the fact that it's just "creative work" can never justify an interest in seeing child-like images in a sexual way.
3. Extreme fetishes, depravity, and corruption. Many of Lillith's games are prime examples and then some because of the endings.
4. Rape and blackmail. Gomly1980 stated the reasons best.
I'll admit that I have a few exceptions like Rune's Pharmacy (I can bypass a lot of what dislike) and Monster Girl Quest (losing is mostly an option in that game), but I prefer games without those aspects in it. Otherwise, I'll play the game if the storyline and artwork is good.

Sorry if this is off-topic a bit, but I'm curious about the people for whom incest breaks the game. Does the circumstances of incest-adjacent content change anything? For example, if it's a step-mother, step-sister meaning there is no blood relation, is that different? If the MC is simply a house guest, no relation at all, is that acceptable?
I guess my point is that in all three scenarios (family, step-family, house guest) you could have the MC be an 18yo guy who lives with an older woman and one or more girls/women closer in age to the MC. Incest, with me, is a violation of family code regardless of blood relations or not. If you're family, you are family! That's not to say that I do not understand the situations where person A grew up with person B (or even just spent some time person B) and eventually fell for them. I can respect that it happens in life and I respect the games that take the time to flesh out the story and depth behind the situation. I just can't respect a videogame that uses flimsy excuses (ex: he's / she's been looking hot for a while) just to get family members in the sack. I also don't care for the more creative excuses either (mind-breaks, hypnosis, spells, etc).
Step relations only makes a difference if the characters involved are both clearly adults (look at least mid 20s) and did not grow up together. Housemates and guests are far more palatable even if the result is often cringy in that how-can-I-pay-the-pizzaguy sort of way. It IS porn after all so bad writing is to be expected. Besides, from what I've seen, most of the characters in incest games don't even look remotely related, so a simple pronoun change is often enough for people turn off by incest.
Now, the main protagonists in these games often being extremely creepy, incest or not, is an entirely different matter...
To respond to the OP, I'm sure there are countless trauma-inducing fetishes I luckily don't even know about. Among those I have seen, my biggest turnoffs are

I enjoy good pacing and pushing the boundary. The most enjoyable parts of a game for me is the beginning/ middle where a female characters defenses/morals/etc get whittled down. Later on when it's essentially nothing more than just mindless sex scenes i lose interest because at that point i can simply watch porn. I like seeing a buildup and progression.

Bit of a tangent here, but here's my take on futa content. If you enjoy looking at nude women, it makes some sense you might enjoy two nude women having sex with each other.
