Why did "Behind the Dune" by this artist got a HUGE fanbase that posts things regularly, but this game couldn't even get an update for weeks?

BtD had the advantage of catering to the fanbase of an established franchise (Dune) and to a very popular fetish (incest). Interest for Horror in Hongdae might increase once it gets released on Steam, which is supposed to happen in the near future. Hopefully.

That's the version for May, though. The newest version is from July.
Still, the frontpage had an even older version, so good job on the find. I didn't realize we were that far behind.

Arguably, interest for BtD derived from what the game could have become. Now that the game is "done" I can confidently say that it leaves a lot to be desired in gameplay, world, and story mechanics.
It's a very linear game that doesn't really build up at all. At first, you can't do anything sexual, but once you can it's like the game throws everything at you as fast as it is capable of... There's no build-up or anticipation. It's just a smutty rollercoaster ride with contextual prompts every now and then.

Just now learning this game exists. Super dope to see the Behind The Dune dev making another game. I knew the artstyle seemed familiar!
Out of curiosity though, the thread for this game was posted like two years ago. Whats the dealio? Figured this game would have a lot more attention on it. Was it announced 2 years ago and now theres a playable build? Again, just now learning about this game.

It is and always has been a short and simple fap game and never pretended to be anythinge else. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I like a game that doesn't waste my time with loads of poorly written dialogue and pointless busywork.
If you prefer a slower pace and a bit more effort put into the story and characters, then HiH might just be the right game for you. Although it's also pretty short.
Playable versions have been around for quite a while but with a paltry amount of content at first, so they didn't generate much interest. Also, everyone just prefers Dune. Balsa had to learn using entirely new development tools after the death of flash, so that slowed him down in the beginning + going back to update BtD every now and then also doesn't improve his productivity on this game.
Game was posted here 2 years ago, had a bunch of playable updates spread out throughout the 2 years , you probably just missed out on it. Dev is slow at making games as you can see with Dune, but I guess it's on person? and the arts very nice
