Moving to unity was a mistake.

Baal sucks super hard at programming and the added development costs of using a tool that you don't know how to use (keep in mind that he has tried and failed to use Unity for loser for a while now) just means whatever hope this game had of ever being properly developed are gone.

He needs to either grow as a developer (he won't) or accept his limitations and work with simpler tools.

I stoped playing the original beacuse it was sooooo long winded for no reason at all if this has the same level of teadium Im automatically out on principal
Lol, about sp1 one word... cheats make a hell of a lot of difference.

I cheated rep...
Money
Stats with girls...

rep to get the resistance...

Money to get more powers..

Rep to get the grades for school quest done faster.
And that means school grade rep + school rep...
after that i just bought powers and unlocked fun with lots of girls hehe...

Funny. I poked thru the first couple pages...and it seems that people forget that the Renpy version was NOT the original version at all. It was a remake of a RAGs engine game. Hope at least the renders look better...Unity actually seems like a stronger engine to work with for the type of game Superpowered is.
To use Unity for a visual novel, you have to be a pervert)))

without the assembly for rolling we cant even test most of the stuff :), supercharged wont help when he put in a d20 and you have to beat it with a d6 dice :p
i like loser and this new remake but some things have to be adjusted.

Actually, he has grown as a coder/dev, etc I dare say quite a lot... The real problem is I think his projects are very big
and he could use 3-4 more people in graphics and coding on each project...
Both for quantity and quality. If we consider about 1 girl per month, that's 12 girls a year.
But also then there are Harem scenes, story development... Powers development...
Fighting development it's no wonder it has taken years for him to get anywhere...
if he had 8 more ppl than the current ones on Graphics and Coding I believe
90% of the problems would be/have been fixed since long ago.

It does matter though, just how hard etc someone works and how much-skilled that someone is, and how 'interested/and invested' they are, but more hands and heads usually make better and bigger games really unless they are only bad at it. :)

If this gets finished it could be pretty good. Not promising that the prequel only got through less than half of the roadmap.

Does anyone know where there's a copy of the original rags game? I've played this version and superpowered 2 but not the first game so I'd like to try it.

I'm not going to write a negative review just yet, but it seems no lessons were learned from SP1 (and early Looser feedback).

Good:
The general vibe and look is very similar to SP1

Bad:
-The grind is WORSE than SP1. I played the game for hours today and didn't get one scene, only repeating the same daily grind over and over again.
-Lots of unneccessary time wasting mechanics. The die rolling and picking in the morning can be somewhat excused (even if they just work to extend the grind and thereby "play time"), same dialogue every morning and evening is just dumb and adding hours of reading the same text again.

Do not play without cheats.

SP1 was one of my fav games. I expect SP2 to be equal or better.
That being said, the grammar and typos here drive me up the wall.

Example:
It is "Oops", not "Opps"
It is "Maggie's Room", not "Maggies Room"

Moving from Rempy to Unity is just so people can't easily skip grinding.
Python is much easier to "hack" than Unity in that sense.

I tried this out for about 5 minutes. It seems that even after a year of training, Billy is pretty incompetant with his powers. He has forgotten everything he might have learned previously. He now can only use a max of 4 powers per day (at least at present). And his control of his powers is pitiful with the way they have been implemented. The only power he seems to have any control over is the polymorph ability. Everything else is a crapshoot.

The original rags game is still the best implementation of this game. 7+ years later and we have yet to see anything as good.
