Did an experiment today and thought I would share the results with you guys. For some reason, when I render one character with an alpha channel, I get the same quality in a few minutes as I do when I let it run for hours while I'm at work.

3) Is there a special tips for posing two caracters together and not have like the hand of a caracter go through the body of other caracter.
You have other detailed answers already, my only other tip is to remember that you only have to worry about what can be seen by the camera. I do plenty of renders where bits that aren't visible aren't posed and are poking into objects and so on.

@Xavster
Thank you for the quick response. Looks like I'll have to stick with simple portraits for now or schedule my renders for when I have the time to let it run. It will be nice when I get a better system in a few months.
That's what I do, make my computer work when I'm not using it. :) I also try to do my test renders when going to the bathroom, grabbing a bite to eat, feeding the dog, etc.

Cops and Robbers:

(I went through every trick I know to try get that robot's eyes to go green in post, but nope, too much color spillage. What I should have done was edit the textures like a normal person ... but it was late ...)

awesome use of lighting and reflections I almost want to ask how you pulled it off.
Thank you. It just kind of happened honestly. I had the idea of using the big glowing sun HDRI to silhouette a character standing at a large window. I didn't have a good large window so I enlarged one but the asset's glass had two panes which created a double reflection so I just tossed in a plane primitive with a simple glass shader, bumped up the reflectivity to 0.75 and just kind of ran with it. The lighting on her is just the HDRI with an added spotlight at 1500k temp to make the highlights stand out against the red tint from the HDRI (which is about 1200k). The interior lights are emissive surfaces mostly but I did add two spotlights placed at the ceiling lights aiming at the floor with a wide angle and low intensity to brighten up the foreground a bit more than the emissive lights did. Add some random sci-fi junk and presto! a picture :)

I wish I could say I had this master plan that was perfectly executed to get that result but honestly I just kind of screwed around until I liked it. The hardest part really was getting the camera lined up so her reflection was clear, the lighting just worked with very little effort this time around.
