Enlighten me. I didn't even know there was a version of hgg besides the ones inside the hgg download folder, so you know a lot more than I do about CoC mods.

well i mostly deal with the source code on gitgud I believe i saw in the commits that the swf output was being deprecated.

I think you misinterpreted things. The Belshazzarii git is being deprecated and the main branch is Oxdeception's. Flash swf is never going away though. Unless there's another fork of hgg I don't know about, it's still releasing on flash like every other CoC mod out there
Though Ox does compile a bunch of other versions too.
What is you favorite version of the game guys, i see alot of support of HGG here, but i can hardly tell what is different from original there since i dont care about loli stuff(i like starting as a different age tho, that a cool feature), i really like Xianxia personally, i hate some of the new sex content that written not that great, but other stuff like quality of life and better combat is pretty good, its not the most balanced but the original or HGG is just as unbalanced and just more boring, i play both from time to time btw, just curious what you like about them like pros and cons of different versions.

I've just recently gotten into the Xianxia mod and have really enjoyed it but it appears it doesn't get updates anymore and I've also been curious about the HGG mod but am also unsure if that's getting updated

Yes. massively so.
HGG takes removes some cuckold content and adds loli (optional). It also lets you optionally erase urta from the game.
it has a very conservative approach to the mod.
Xianxia drastically alters the game balance, adds a new parallel system of magic, focuses on biggatons (your numbers get REALLY REALLY big. and you have so many perks and levels). introduces its own new content (characters and locations). suffers from bad grammar and bugs.
It focuses on reincarnating repeatedly to collect massive amounts of points. And has some convenience tools like neigh infinite inventory.
I have mixed opinions on xianxia. I honestly wish they did a proper replacement. instead they went with "random xianxia town gets portaled into mareth, whole. and introduces new characters and magic system to mareth".
Ironically, using mareth magic in xianxia lets you have better DPS.
With xianxia classes only being used as a source of raw stat points to fuel your magic build. It isn't very well balanced.
Xianxia motto seems to be "just add everything. more more more MOAR". with a typical update being "I added a 30 new perks to choose from. with zero balance testing. nor did I bother to run a spellcheck"

Design philosophy: Xianxia is an all-in chinese light novel inspired ascension game. Big big big big numbers, big abilities, tons of nameless mooks that die from your thousand soulforce dual wielding divine wrath axe charge. None of the base game's lore is preserved, and many characters are giant 10 foot tall super strong combatants or anime maids.
HGG is restrained to CoC lore and power levels closer to the base game, though with expanded content. Xianxia also has very poor English, while HGG rigorously corrects the English in all submissions.
Mechanics: Xianxia has a million perks and abilities. HGG is more like the base game with a few dozen abilities and maybe an extra 20 perks. The writing is more the focus. There are no nameless golems with 0 sex scenes just padding out combat, but you also aren't getting universe-tearing samurai sword that you attack 30 times a turn with. Expect HGG to be like vanilla+.
Writing: HGG is in English, and tries to stay in line with the lore of the base game, correcting inconsistencies in the writing, and developing characters that are already in the game in ways that stay in line with their personality and backstory. A lot of sex scenes are added, and there is a lot of expanded support for strange body types like centaur and naga (though still not as good as being a biped)
They only removed cuckold content that was unique to them in the first place. You can soft-disable some of the vanilla game's with some changes to choices, like it's easier to keep helia from being slutty with the fox girls in the bar and you can disable Urta so there's no Urta x Amily scene. But no cuckold content was removed that was in the base game. HGG never removes anything from the base game unless it's actively inconsistent, like changing Akbal's sprite from a black panther to a jaguar, to match his writing, and fix some later addition scenes that called him black. He was called tan-furred in early content.

I wish. Actually all of the game base lore is preserved.
They isekaied a xianxia town INTO mareth.
The xianxia are outsiders, and the two magic systems live side by side.
It is a xianxia expansion pack that poorly integrates with the local world.
Basically, the base dialog is unchanged.
They just reworked the stats on enemies to fit the new combat system.
You do have xianxia's huge numbers though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they botched the corruption system entirely, didn't they? Pretty sure there are other things from how CoC works that got mucked up too. I thiiink there might be something that consumes corruption for power, reducing corruption from stuff, but that might have been a submission that never got finished/implemented. If anything is botched from the base game lore, I expect it to be related to corruption, demons, and souls. I only played a few hours though

what do you mean by botched?
corruption is still a thing and remains largely unchanged from base game.
They added a way to cheat it with soulforce. where you just spend soulforce to raise or lower your corruption score.
And the entire thing is entirely mechanical.
In camp I click soulforce menu.
I am now faced with half a dozen options.
I pick [Adj. Corr.] (tooltip: spend some soulforce on affecting your current corruption).
this brings me to a new screen that says
Where at my current level I have 8 options (4 raise, 4 lower).
I click on the [high] button whose tooltip says

Isabella is a human with cow TFs, so she makes human babies that you can molest. I think that's all... Not sure.

The regular save editor works for most mods for me but anything unique to that mod wont work with the save editor, you can still edit a lot though. I haven't heard of any new save editors, though I wish there were

the HGG mod has a save editor built-in to spawn items, change stats, etc, when you enable debug mode. Also lets you trigger scenes from a list
