I need a good, free download manager

I don't know if this is the correct place to request such a thing, so if it's not, please some mod move this thread to where it actually belongs. Thank you.

Now to my actual problem: My internet service has been really crappy this last month. Cannot download jack without my internet failing all the damn time, and you know how downloading anything from your browser is - if the download fails, you have to start all over again from the beginning... So, until i sort my problems with my internet provider (or change my internet service altogether), i wanna know a good download manager for my browser, preferably free/pirated. Any recommendations, anyone??? :T
