Huh, just going by the dates that the threads for the respective games were opened here, it does appear that Lab Rats 1 came out before the games I mentioned. I didn't realize they were so recent.

I cannot stress how much it does not matter to me how the game ends up justifying its incest. What matters to me is that the characters genuinely feel like they're family. To go through some of the games mentioned here that I have played, Now and Then is great, just as was said, despite it being adoption, you get the sense that this is a father daughter relationship, and that the father, especially, put a lot of effort into making sure that was the type of relationship they had.
For a Family Venture, I don't really feel it, tbh. It's a problem a lot of sandbox games have, where they rely too heavily on repeatable sex events, and not enough on fleshing the relationships out. I have enjoyed the game overall, but they no more feel like family to me than they do roommates. Also, rb813 is correct, after figuring out you can definitely put them to sleep with the tea, you whisper into their ears as you touch them, giving them suggestions as to how their mind will interpret how the body is feeling in order to make them more susceptible to finding you sexually attractive. The biggest problem with the suggestion being, there's not enough tissue to make them feel like siblings or mom and son, so it's easy to feel like you're just a dude who's surrounded by gorgeous women who can't get any and is resorting to devious methods.
I played a bit of Guilty Pleasure a while back and decided I was gonna wait for more, but I did like how incest developed between the first two siblings, quite a lot, and how much the game focused on the familial relationship between the characters. I don't remember how many updates I've missed, but I should probably get back to that, because even if a slutty aunt dynamic enters to speed things up, I remember genuinely liking where things started enough, that it will be hard to fuck that up afterward.
On the subject of the tropes, ICSTOR has been around for a lot longer than they've been developing Milfy City, and they're one of the pioneers in the Daz 3d model AVN field, though their earlier titles are all done in RPGM. Between them, and their clone ICCreations (who are the devs of F.I.L.F.) a lot of the tropes we see in other games were shaped. Man of the House and Big Brother were competing when they came out to have the tropier story, and I think the only reason Man of the House came out on top is that Dark Silver gave up when Patreon started cracking down on incest. I'm sure a lot of these tropes were inspired by some japanese ones, but we definitely have a specific flavor with our online indy dev space.
Anyway... please, do not hold back because the game uses magic or sci-fi to make the sex happen. What matters to me is that the family feels like a family, and not just strangers who have names like mom or sis. Hell, blackmail, coersion, corruption, etc, can make it hotter, as long as the family feels like a family, and the result isn't that those elements kill that mood.

Just tossing ideas out there, trying to think of what a more mature (brother and sister who are both in their 20's, if not 30's) incest story might be like. I'm thinking it could start out with one of them (let's say the brother) just going through a bad breakup, and he has to move out of her place, so he goes to crash on his sister's couch (since she's the only family in town). So at the beginning, he's depressed and lonely, and kinda not fully in his right mind. He hears his sister and her boyfriend having sex, and he's so horny and lonely that he can't help but peep on them. That would piss off the no-NTR crowd, but it seems to be a pretty logical way to start down the route of someone thinking of their sibling in a sexual way; it's kind of an "any port in the storm" type of idea.
From there, how it would develop to them having sex with each other could go a number of different ways. You could go with the more kinky routes of blackmail, fucking her in her sleep, just plain rape, etc. You could do like a porn plot where the sister and her boyfriend want to have a threesome, and the brother somehow convinces the boyfriend to let him be the other guy, and the boyfriend convinces her to do it blindfolded so she doesn't know it's her brother (I guess that would be like the aunt storyline in Milfy City). Or you could go the more somber, dramatic route where the sister also goes through a bad breakup shortly after, and they just eventually find comfort in each other's arms (and genitals).

But back on topic, I am still hoping for any suggestions. Games where the incest is what works. I don't need it to be as well done as what I'm talking about above, I just need to feel like the characters are genuinely related, and thus their incest is actually taboo, both for them, and for society.

On that note for making incest reasonable, haley story made use of trauma. Haley raped or abused in some way
Being twins helps a lot, Less power imbalance and could use the connected by some bigger sentiment.
A big red flag for me is age gap, I do find more reasonable when a story the involved parts are close in age and wait some time before jumping into bed
I do like games where the girl is a siscon and the brother really try his best to resist, and the story gets almost comical. And after a lot of progress maybe he sucumbs slowly to the idea.
Maybe she dated a little but cant shake the feelings for her brother.
Yes the trope about virgin sister is almost set in stone, yet would make more sense if she had a bad experience, or a failed one because the guy was a jerk.

Had a hard time parsing that second paragraph, but I think I got it with the context provided by the third. Yeah. I have an idea that I might do at some point of an NTR plot where the MC is in a loving relationship with a girlfriend, but the sister who has recently come of age, or just recently re-entered their life for some other reason, wants to steal MC from that girlfriend. Would be a really interesting morality plot where the MC is torn between the lust from their sister and the love from their girlfriend, conflicted due to their own feelings, and where the branches involve MC either taking control, and finding a way to satisfy both, or choosing bewteeen the two.
I will have to try Hayle's Story out. I've been putting it off because I kinda got turned off of single character focused games by how many of them dragged on, but I'll give it a shot.(probably also doesn't help that I'm polyamorous irl)

The MC in this one was working as a tutor at the college where his sister goes and mom worked. And of course there's a little sister too.
I think this is the only game I really remember playing back in the day where the Mom genuinely didn't feel like a caretaker dominant, because MC wasn't a snotty nosed kid looking dude, and she respected him for his actual position.
Sisterly Lust also does an ok job of this, but it is definitely not a slow burn. In that dad dies and MC inherits the wealth, so he makes himself useful for the girls and they come to accept him. But it's one of those "he was away for a long time" games, because mom and dad got a divorce when the girls were young and he had been sent with dad.

Haha you are totally right, I tried to play a few games were the main character was a woman, and really most are trying to avoid getting raped every 5 seconds...
There was this game, where you could choose to be a male or female and then persue a few relations, with or without the male (woman-woman, or 3some with 1 male and 1female, that you both could persue.). Unfortunately I cannot remember the name at the moment. (But that game didn't have incest so we are going off topic)
Keep an eye on Afterglow. It's super slow burn (not much with the mom yet) but the whole plot is based on the MC's guilt and reluctance for his attraction to the mom and finding other outlets for it/slowly giving into temptation. The relationship between the two characters feels very real and is a pretty feelgood game despite the synopsis I gave.

Gonna jump in on this conversation with an idea i've been toying with for a AVN that i'm slowly working on (just need to work on my art skills) and maybe get some opinions from you guys.
Its going to be a romance, incest focused game, male mc that has 2 sisters and a mother (typical trope i know but bare with me) and a father that IS still around but hes a cheating arsehole that focuses more on work and his secretary than his family so yes it is another typical trope but i didn't want the "dads dead" story because that's been used sooo many times. I will point out though that there is no NTR. It will also be a slow burn to try and add some realism to family lovin.
The mc works at his father's company, the oldest sister (both younger than mc) works as a barmaid and the younger sister is still at college, the mom is your typical stay at home housewife. They are also a very close knit family.
Basically like i said the family is close so when the mc finishes work he goes to the bar where his sister works so they can go home together when she finishes. He does that a lot. One night however she gets harassed by some guys before her shift is over and they even follow her out the back and try touching her etc but they don't get anywhere because the mc comes to her aid. Obviously being a traumatic experience for her she tends to stay in her room for a bit and the mc goes to see her every now and then to help console her. She starts to develop stronger feelings for her "hero" so she sneaks into his room some nights to sleep in his bed with him to feel safe etc. during some of these nights she touches the mc in her sleep but the mc just carefully moves her hand away and goes back to sleep. One morning when they still asleep (both in underwear) they get caught by the mother who is basically "wtf" but the whole situation gets explained and she is understandable about it, though she still tries to put a bit of distance between them because although she understands, she still finds it a little inappropriate that they are young adults sleeping in the same bed in their underwear when they brother and sister.
So anyways as the story continues the older sister still keeps developing these feelings for the mc even though they are not reciprocated so she goes to her friends for help and she discovers that one of her friends is actually in a relationship with her sister (the friends sister) and so obviously the mcs sister questions the whole morality of it and the friends says well it maybe wrong but love is love, yes the majority of society may be against the whole idea but no one will love and care for you like your family will and you know they will always have your best interests at heart. the sister spends time thinking about what her friend told her and eventually decides that she's going to give it a try, so she starts inviting the mc to go shopping or for lunch just casually building it up to see if there is any interest from him. Her interest in the mc doesn't go unnoticed by the rest of the family though, both the mom and younger sister have noticed how she looks at the mc, how she talks to him etc and they start to realise this love she's developing towards her brother is more than a sibling love but that of a man and woman. So they decide to have a chat with her and find out what's going on yadda yadda yadda. The sister explains to them what her friend told her and that she doesn't know if it is what she wants but its something she's trying to find out and long story short they reluctantly accept but obviously ain't too happy about it.
After a while the mc and older sister eventually get into a relationship, the mother and younger sister are more accepting of it because they don't see it as a taboo relationship anymore but one that is formed out of love. The mc discovers that his father is cheating on his mom and gives him a choice that either him (the father) to tell his mom or he will do it himself. The dad being the arshole that he is ends up getting really angry and lashes out at the mc. They end up having a scrap and the father ultimately wins by hitting his son really hard, knocking him out. Instantly regretting it he calls an ambulance and the mc ends up in hospital for a few days where his mom and sisters visit him a lot. Feeling really guilty about it the father tells his wife and daughters about the cheating and then the fight and how it was his fault the mc is in the hospital. The mom kicks him out and wants a divorce etc etc.
When the mc returns home he gets looked after by his sisters and mother and ultimately becomes the new man of the house. That's when the mom and mc have a heart to heart where she thanks him for trying to look out for her and saying that she had a feeling that he was cheating because there has been no intimacy between them for a while. She then kisses the mc but pulls back straight away after realising what she has just done instantly regretting it. She says its one thing for him and his sister to be in that kind of relationship but something else entirely for a mom and son. After a while of her watching how the mc and his sister are with her and some coercion from the sister they eventually give a relationship a try as well.
I haven't figured out how the younger sister will fit in yet.
Like i said it's going to be a very slow burn and it's going to be focused more on romance than porn.
Anyways, hope to hear some opinions on it and I accept both positive and negative criticism haha.

I also want to add that i wont be on patreon or ss or anything like that so i can make it an incest story, i'm working on this on my own. Its going to be my first project of this type so i'm not looking for any monetary support. I just want to make something that hopefully people can enjoy and work on my art and story writing skills.

You have quite a detailed description of the beginning in the incest story and, so to speak, getting the first Love Interest on board. But then I suggest you should have an even more thoughtful understanding of how to get the other two LIs on board. It does not look this way at the moment imho.
I do not imply that you must write this all here of course
It's something for your own head first of all. 2) The way you have described the story so far even makes me think that the youngest sister is an unnecessary extra character that complicates the story and it might look more complete and well-rounded if there was just 1 sister. It's not always the number of LIs that makes an adult game appealing. So like I said, a lot more thought is needed to believably incorporate the youngest sister in your slow burn incest harem.
3) Also, even though I personally prefer proper slow burn stories to those that jump quickly to the hot stuff, this is not necessarily true for the majority of the players. So you might expect a lot of complaints from the blue balls club

The mother will definitely be the last one to get involved in that way but because i hadnt thought of anything for the younger sister yet i can see how it looks like shell be "quick" to get involved but i can assure you she will be the last one and it will take longer than the older sister for her to accept.
Like i said its still a work in progress, still toying around with ideas. The older sister is the only Lis story im set on, the others are still up in the air. I didnt want to dive into too many of potential ideas for the other 2 characters because i dont know if any are going to make it to the final cut or not but thats part of the reason why i wanted to add it on here so that i can get opinions and like i said i appreciate all criticism good or bad. So thank you guys for your views, it means a lot and helps me create something that hopefully people will enjoy.
