HTML - Degrees of Lewdity [v0.4.7.5] [Vrelnir]

I was hoping for a sandbox, got a railroady rape conga line.

One example: I had my character go for a swim, and she got assaulted and stripped by squids, but was able to fight them off. Direct consequences. So far, so good.

On the way back, she was confronted by a pair of friendly lesbians. There wasn't a way to "decline" sex with them, so I tried fighting them off. Instead of getting discouraged or backing off, the friendly lesbians raped and beat my character and left her for dead.

Then, a pair of beachcombers found her bleeding on the beach, claimed they would help, and then sodomized her.

Shit like this happens repeatedly, more so if you resist at all. It seems there is an all around lack of agency in the game. Sandboxes are supposed to be all about player choice; Degrees of Lewdity seems to have only a single valid one: "Lie there and take it".

Do you want to get raped? That's about it.

There isn't a story, and the NPCs are so one-dimensional that you don't really care one way or the other when something happens to them.

The art is basic, and limited. Descriptions are exceedingly repetitive. Combat is boring (just spamming 1 until it's over).

It lets you toggle things like bestiality and tentacles, but most other content is locked.

So why am I giving it 4 stars? Because it has enough areas and scenarios to keep you entertained for a while. It's easily moddable, so you can get rid of the things that you don't like, or add decent art.

It can easily give you 20h of gameplay, and it has a lot of replayability value: being a sandbox, you can roleplay the character as you wish; play a complete slut or try to remain virgin.

This makes it stand out from the pile of HTML games, most of which are a collection of stolen porn and piss-poor writing, and even if there's many aspects of this game that could be done better, it provides a much better experience than most games out there.

Pros:

• Lots of variety in content in terms of events and fetishes
• The community produced some really cool mods (modified instances). My favorite is probably the BEEESSS mod (improved sprites).
• Speaking of mods, BEEESSS is fairly easy to apply yourself since it's just an image replacement. The code in the main game, while messy, is relatively easy to modify (the devs were pretty good about calling out the fragile areas you don't want to change carelessly). You'll want to be comfortable with version control to keep your mods compatible with the latest version as the game develops. Anyway, modding is pretty fun.
• Settings options are pretty thorough. You can toggle specific fetishes.
• The achievement system offers a lot of variety in new playthroughs.
• Dev takes polls regularly and seems very open to feedback.

Cons:

• "Combat" and the general gameplay loop can get a bit tedious at times.
• Dialogue is noticeably repetitive

Degrees of Lewdity has got to be my favorite sandbox title. There are loads of situations you character can get into, and the experience is highly customizable. There are mods and cheats as well if you're not fond of some aspects of the game.

Honestly, I spent a lot of hours into this game and it is great, your character can be heavily customized ranging from clothes to hairs and even tattoos, relationship also exist and pregnancy, but there's some love interest that are greatly lacking in content like the great hawk however there's also some that have a lore.

The only thing that I hate from this game is how tedious bailey's rent is, especially if you decide to pay for the rent of a certain love interest, aside from that I would greatly recommend this. I also recommend you to check the wiki, it would help you a lot!

I think everything has been said already but still. It is a classic already despiste not being around for thaat long. I must be the only poster whos not super into all the pregnancy stuff, but honestly its still is the best out there literally. The art is hot and there is contenta to play for hours. Amazing for a free game especially.

One of my all-time favorite games on here. It was always such a fascinating game that drew on all the fetishes and kinks of being used and abused for no real reason. Just because people could. One thing that I do dislike about this is that, I swear once you were able to pick your own age. And you could even be underaged. This simple addition was everything to me, but it was removed very quickly. One of the early updates ripped that option away from us. Maybe I'm just misremembering. Anyways that was just a personal rant that was probably false due to my bad memory, overall this game is very amazing for those who like humiliation, bullies and a world that's just out to get you. For anyone who rates the game lower because you feel its unfair, the game page literally tells you you will always be in unfortunate situations and never in power.

Degrees of Lewdity is, without a doubt, one of the best projects on this site.
The game is a life-sim set in a world of depravity, depravity of which you are always on the receiving end.
You will never dominate someone, you must choose wether to submit to others and play along, or fight off whoever tries to dominate you.

The scale of the game is incredible, it's one of the most expansive text-based rpgs on F95. Loads of content to read and interact with, loads of characters and storylines to play through and most of all an original (and fun) combat/sex system: yes, sexual encounters and combat are the same thing in this game.

There are A LOT of customization options at the start of each run, think of it as a rogue-lite. You can get achievements in your runs that unlock coins, with which you can boost your next runs.
You can customize pretty much any NPC in the game and how they are distributed, how many random encounters you find and lots more. There are cheats, too, if you find that the game is a bit too unforgiving.

Also has a fairly active modding scene, which is always a good sign.

If you're looking for a sandbox adventure, look no further: this is the game for you.

Has a lot of potential and gameplay loop is surprisingly addictive. Best part is the MC can be pretty much whoever you want (although the dom scenes are still not there yet). Developer team seems very active too so content a year from now will be worth the wait.

This is the first time I played a game of this type and I was positivly surprised.

There are a lot of fetishes and things that can happen which I love.

The story is not really there but that isn´t a problem because that wasn´t the intention of the game so it is good that you can decide everything without a real story.

The animations and sprites look really good.

The dialogue is okay sometime it can get boring or repetetive but other than that good.

The biggest problem is that the game is pretty complicated for someone who is new to these kind of games.

I love the game its a text game where, surprise surprise, there is an actual GAME and not just wall text after wall text (There is but it has a cute art style) and it has a nice gameplay and I like the events and characters, they are different from each other (The principal possible romantic partners at least)

I like sprites, and I used to play a game similar to this called Slave Maker, so I'm "used" to this game style. Unlike slave maker, the degeneracy of the female MC takes an uncomfortably long time. Which can make this game kind of turn off if you aren't in for pretty harsh sex. Game is great, but for a niche audience I believe.

Some games make the heroine fall really fast, so harsh sex only occurs for the first like, three encounters. But in this game? Female MC only warms up to sex after being raped like 10-20 times, minimum. Even if you choose all the options to make her consent, she doesn't degenerate fast enough, so the content is pretty harsh.

The flipside is you DON'T consent, here is the real kicker, you either consent to sex, or fight. But since you just started the game, it's REAL easy to encounter rapists on like day 1, even without trying to, at which point you haven't trained enough of your physique to do a good dice roll to win the battle. So that ends up you losing, and returns to harsh(er) sex again.

Also there isn't a lot of leeway in terms of progression if you want to play legit FIRST TRY, so I recommend playing the whore route and prostitute your first run in order to learn all the mechanics and the fastest way to earn cash, because pure route first time is just not possible without knowing your way around, because you HAVE to pay an exponential cost every 7 days, the first two weeks is "relatively" easy to get the money, third week onwards is impossible unless you really PLAN your first two weeks to min max your stats for higher earnings.

I'll be honest, I disliked the game from start, but seeing the praise it has received from so many people, I kept playing. But after an unfortunate series of events which essentially left me holding "1" for nearly 10 minutes, I just gave up. The game is a sandbox where all odds are stacked against you. You would be right in thinking that overcoming the obstacles the game presents should be fun, but it absolutely isn't. Every location you visit, every npc interaction, every stat that you grind just makes the game rape your character in some different or more efficient way. Your character almost never enjoys these sexual encounters and if it does, you couldn't tell, because sex descriptions are mechanic, plain and to the point. Combat, which you'll be doing lots of, is just selecting a preset and holding 1. Fighting back leaves your character's confidence shattered, itself anxious and a sobbing mess. Complying 9/10 times just makes you faint from pain inflicted by your rapist. It's annoying and plainly not fun. There is no good art, no hot and descriptive sex, no character building, no story. The game is simply an abuse simulator, so if you don't enjoy that, stay away

Story: 4/5 (Sandbox)

The game provides a great sandbox-like RPG experience where options for how you choose to live your live are very abundant. The player customisability is excellent, and so is the world customisation. You are given many options to add or remove whatever fetishes you would like to—such as completely removing bestiality, changing it to only beast-boy and -girls, or having it all in—with viable pregnancy toggles included.

You can even choose the genders of main NPCs and the gender ratios of random NPCs, as well as their aggressiveness, genital preferences, genitals, etc. All these options make for playing in your preferred world much more fun, whilst not negatively affecting the events and story in any way. There are also plenty of easter eggs, like beast/divine transformations, to unlock.

The reason why I am rating the story 4/5 then, is because I feel that the writing itself could have been improved upon in some parts. It is not particularly poor at all, but for a text-based game, I feel it is an extremely important aspect to perfect on.

Edit: It has occurred to me that some interactions/events are much better written than others. I assume these to either have been added in newer versions, or by a different writer. Either way, it seems that as the game updates, new content does not disappoint, but the most common info that comes up usually remains a bit dull.

Gameplay: 4/5

The main gameplay involved is just making different decisions. Seeing as decision making is meant to be the primary focus of the game, I did not rate it lower, but the frequency of combat and how one interacts during it, drags the rating down here a bit. Clearly a lot of thought has been put into giving you a lot of options during combat, but sometimes it gets very tedious. This is evident in instances where you cannot do anything but press the skip button for 7 turns at a time. It could probably be improved by adding a "skip while no new options are available" button.

Visuals: 3/5

The visuals could be improved, but with the sheer amount of content available, it is completely understandable. Even just replacing the character model with a higher resolution version would go a long way (such as is done through "BEEESSS Mod", which is now very outdated).

Sexual Content: 4/5

Oh boy is there is a lot.
The flaws with combat drag the score down, as that is what most of the sexual content is centered around. The customisation of what you want in and out of your playthrough pushes it back up.

Overall, due to its great customisability and plethora of things to do and that can happen, this is still without a doubt one of the best text-based RPGs I have ever played.

I scrolled past this quite a few times while searching for tags I like, and decided to finally give it a try, despite the fact I haven't really enjoyed primarily text based games much in the past.

While I haven't gotten too deep into it yet, I've really enjoyed it so far, to the extent that I've subscribed for now. The actual game mechanics seem good, and I've enjoyed interacting with the two love interests I've met so far (the person living near you, and dorky person).

Two of the tags I came here for, that I actually got to explore a bit in my relatively brief playtime are the female dom and exhibitionism tags, and there was plenty of content for both.

The female dom is pretty much prevalent the whole game depending on how you set your game options, so I got my fill of that, and I appreciated that it seems like I was able to customize it through options to remove any of the more hardcore stuff I wasn't interested in.

The exhibitionism content was pretty nice, although it seems to mostly be streaking. There's a decent amount of public sex, but it seems like it's all non-consensual, which I admit to being a bit disappointed about. Hoping some of that gets added in the future, but I enjoyed what was present well enough.

Additionally, there is some pixel art to represent your character and the scenes. Nothing too fancy, but I appreciate having since my imagination is a bit lacking. In particular, I enjoyed being able to see the outfits I'm wearing lol. I'll probably try out a female mc soon since it'll probably be more fun dressing them up for me haha.

Currently, it seems only the MC has pixel art, while everyone else has nothing and is a shadow in scenes. I'm hoping in the future, they can swap out the shadows for the same pixel art. I'd hope the same framework used for generating the MC's character could be used for the other characters, hopefully at least the love interests.

A really good text adventure game that runs on any browser and pretty much a no brainer if you want to play as a female MC and stay a pure virgin or become as corrupt as possible. Many possible love interests, interesting encounters and a lot of possibilities of playstyles.

Why am I giving it a poor review? The combat. The most central part of this game which you will be doing maybe 95 percent of the time is utterly outdated and the x-ray animation sprites are hilariously bad for a porn game. The sprites look like they were made for a 90s flash game that haven't been updated since then. There is no female anatomy here, no vagina, no uterus, no cervix, just a bunch of muscles that you are supposed to assume is a vagina or anal rectum (see the images in the post itself).

The game also focuses so much on your hymen but there is no difference in animation while defloration vs normal vaginal sex. There are only two sex positions, missionary and doggy and mostly your character is static and does absolutely nothing except taking it. Your other partner is just a black character model with no colors or details. Even the sprites of your body are basic as it gets.. unless aroused, the vagina looks like a butt crack line with no clit or labia or any sort of details.

All in all, the game requires YOU to have a good imagination because for a porn game, it does not have much "porn" in it. If you ever wish to play it, play with the Firemod and BEEEES mod because the vanilla game sprites and animations are downright atrocious.

ok i guess it's time to rate this 5/5 after playing it for so long despite all its annoying and bad design decisions. for example there are many sex scenes which would make the participants stay in an impossible position. this happens a lot especially with multiple participants.

plus the writings with pens on you is way way way overexaggerated and dumb. i know you can remove it, but occasionally it would be fine but it happens all the time. you can literally whack the pen out of someone's hand and they still pull another pen out of their pocket 5th time in a row. like how many pens each ppl hold wtf?

plus you have so few options when you are getting raped. i really like non-con. especially when you are the underdog and you feel helpless. but here this is a bit repetitive. same text repeats so many times. enemy gets angry and behaves retardedly more aggressive than it should be. and you can rarely calm them down... it breaks the immersion and it's boring. too excessively nonsense.


so why is it 5/5? i have no idea. i fapped to this game so many times and it doesn't even have good graphics, but the non-con stuff is just so erotic. too bad it's not done properly, but even in this half-bad state it's still an awesome game with a lot of stuff to do.

My first ever HTML game ever, and by god its ruined every other HTML game released currently. every other game in this engine heavily relies on the use of IRL Pornographic content, whereas this creates its own Mildly animated scenes to show you exactly whats happening, with an in-depth explananation to the deeds being done. this game is an unforgiving game that doesnt hold your hand, and allows you to roam its world, full of different people, beasts, animals of the like, which usually have a one tracked mind set. MOLEST, RAPE, BRUTALISE. this game isnt for the faint hearted, but by god i always find myself coming back to it and playing, as no other game really offers you the variety in Darker Kinks and Bi gameplay.

the only reason its not five stars, is well due to the engine and its limits in what can be done. the fact a HTML game has sprites animated is amazing. however i have seen more detailed animated sprites in like minded games. maybe this game could provide that extra level of immersion and detail scene (visually) wise if another engine was used. just simple things like if your MC is flashing their butt to someone, you can see their sprite spread, and the hole on display. those minor details, is in my opinion what would make this game perfect. seeing the actual hole lol. sorry to be so grotesque. i know the engine limits the games capability visually speaking. but this is my review, so yeah. just minor little things like visual improvements, im an ass dude, so i wanna see some butt holes xD. even options to move out of the orphanige and get your own place by yourself, or live with a romantic partner like robin or whomever else. but still have those paying elements, but from a landlord instead. offering branching gameplay is what this game does so fucking well. however, i do feel more could be added to truly make it shine. and if you even added more visually exposed sprites in certain scenes, id be happy and it would go up in rating. fantastic game, very daunting at the start, with all the UI and options. but after reading on reddit, and on forums, it becomes "easier" to understand some of the base mechanics and functions of the game. i just wish mods were an additional Expansion/dlc to the exisiting game, rather than their own game entirely. so lets add traditional modding support as my critique too. although the developer is very honest with their wants for this game,. and of course does embrace mods, but i wish it was more integrated into the existing game as extra content to add to the already great experience, rather than a separate experience from the vanilla game.
