This is what happens when your author dies and the people who can't write for shit pick up the pieces, because they presume that they can write... even though they've never written anything even half as good as what the author wrote. Or just, you know, most fanfiction in a nutshell old friend. It's why so much fanfiction is crap compared to the gems out there. And of course, they're incredibly allergic to any criticism whatsoever, even if you bother to take the time to write it "nicely" for their poor little hurt fee-fees.
So what do they do since they can't create shit of their own? They worm their ways up into power so they can steal the creations of others and then re-mold them into their shitty "vision" rather than having the self-awareness to realize their "vision" is shit and is the biggest reason they never succeeded... Sort of like the mods on SV, SB, and now apparently on QQ as well.

I mean, let's be honest. The only thing Monty wrote was "I wanna have cute anime fairy tale girls fighting each other", in crayon, on a napkin. And then he handed that napkin to Kerry and Miles and told them to come up with a story to justify it. And then every once in a while he would come up with a new idea, blurt it out, and tell them to try and crowbar it into the plot somehow.
Sure, Kerry and Miles have basically written themselves into a mess of a plot and the show has completely sucked for multiple seasons now, but it's not as if Monty would have done much better - no matter how much people have fetishized him and his "genius". The man was really good at animating dynamic fight scenes with hot anime chicks. Even he admitted he wasn't very good at actual writing (which is why he gave that job to Kerry and Miles in the first place). That's not really a recipe for a brilliant narrative-heavy show with a great ending that ties up every loose end in a satisfying way.
I'm not going to defend Kerry and Miles (especially since Miles helped ruin Red vs Blue as well), but let's not act like Monty was sooo much better.
