In the books there is no competition at all between Triss and Yennefer.
Even if Geralt, from time to time, has short stories (or simply sex) with other women (Triss included), his only and true (tempestuous) love is Yennefer...and the same goes for her (Geralt is her ultimate LI).
Triss is beautiful and sweet (but not naive...and that's good) but Yennefer (imho) is a far more complex and interesting character

Never liked Yen in books, Triss was even worse there, they are both better in the games in my opinion and since i liked them both around the same, Triss always won me at the end since she was in all games so you have more of an emotional investment in her, never understood sports like competition that fanbase has with them, you can like one or the other its hardly diminishes they're character and you can fuck them both or dont fuck them at all at the end of the day.
I will check the game when more updates come, good luck to the dev, i hate trainers so i never bothered with Ciri one so i have high hopes for this one.
Forgot to add, i hope there would eventually will be option to cockblock Geralt and steal Triss from him, that would be funny and i always shipped them together, especially after that scene if you mess with both of them when they ditch you together lol.

Haven't read the books, but I disliked Yennefer in Witcher 3. I found her annoying and didn't pursue her even a little. I also couldn't understand why Geralt would have bonded himself to her. There is actually a ciri training game just search ciri trainer also another game is there about corrupting yen and triss but it was abandoned but got pretty amount of content
