Because Miia is a Lamia and all Lamias have scales on their cheeks in

. Although she looks especially strange here but I think it's because of the lighting, I guess it's supposed to be night. Also her scales seem to be extending down to her chin.

Correct :D
This scene were the inspiration so i tried to get close to it as much i can but with a fev extra touch like the face scales details.
