Mod - Ren'Py - Witch Trainer: Silver Mod [v1.46.1] [Silver Studio Games]

Even though it is still being worked on and occasionally tweaked in a slightly different way, this game has the best combination of artwork, game style, character interaction and adult content that I have found.

This review is based on the v1.42 Silver mod content, not the original Akabur Witch Trainer game.

Are you looking for a mod that expands the original game in meaningful ways like adding in new scenes and expanding original events? Well, that mod doesn't exist.

Are you instead looking for a mod that adds in meaningless new clothes and new characters that have next to no content and will likely never go anywhere given the glacial development pace? Then you're in luck, this is exactly that mod!

Two stars because what little content has been added over the 5 years of development is okay. Minus 3 because its an unfocused mess that hasn't really gone anywhere in 5 years.

Lots of characters, outfits, story, locations, sex scenes, photo mode... All with the respect of the original game's art and spirit

Love the art. The story's fine. It's just way too grindy and there are too many basic animations that make everything take forever.

Good history, good game. Waiting to see a 3D version and more and more content. I prefer new scenes, and possibly a "cheat" with the values necessaries for costumes. A new characters also, Ginny, Bellatrix, etc!!!!!!!

If I had to put a defect, it is that there is not a complete translation into Spanish.

I tried the original work, much more limited and less showy. A lot of new features have been added and it shows a LOT ... Totally recommended.

Great game, though not for everybody. I enjoy the slow burn, it makes the payoff more rewarding. The corruption mechanics make it more entertaining to see the girls behaving like sluts, than if they had started out that way

How come I have been ignoring this gem? The animation is neat, not my cup of tea, to be honest, and not too many of them, but the art itself is exquisite. I also love the idea of clothing progression, we just don't lewd them immediately. The card game is great, but the I wish we could choose our rules in the 2nd tier. But what I like best is the script. The cameos are great, 4th wall breaking moments are great, the ending is perfect, the new characters are great, their stories are beautifully written. The best of all, Snape bromance! Whoever wrote this script is a genius!

I've been following this since the developer switch from one individual to a 'whole team' and from what I can tell, for every piece of 'content' added, 1.5-2 pieces of content are being removed. The obsession with trying to set up different clothing rigs for multiple outfits has resulted in less, not more content. I'd be able to forgive the lack of visual content if the story lines and writing were of great quality- but the text is serviceable at best, nothing to really praise or write home about. I imagined that spreading the work out among several individuals would lead to a speedy and plentiful series of updates- but after 1.5 years or so, after I come back to this game, even accepting that a great deal of additional content for Cho and others are planned and implemented to varied degrees I've encountered very little that I did not encounter 1.5-2 years ago. Indeed, some scenes and scenarios I really enjoyed have been totally gutted from the game with no signs of them being implemented in the future or changed to add a layer of freshness to playing. I know it's a lot easier to critique something than make it- and overall I have had my fun with the game, but this is the only project I can think of where each passing major update focuses more on 'bug fixes' and adding clothing pieces rather than expanding the general content of the game. I even enjoyed the pacing of reading the different books- as the chapters went on, the writing and scenarios became saucier, so you could even get your kicks while 'grinding' imagination. Never before have I seen so many removals and reductions in a game's content without subsequent expansion into other content of similar length and quality. It's very strange.



On top of removing content at a rapid pace, rewriting scenes and characters that have been established for years that also removes content, and going from one person passion project to ‘an entire team,’ the updates are slower, contain less, and they have the gumption to request donations!



I just can't wrap my head around the logistics of it. A significant portion of content is removed (and I am not even including potions, I couldn't care less about those additions even though they were good content) and then a bare minimum trickle of writing is added to pad out 'storylines' that are less well put together than a script of CSI Miami. If they want to turn this platform into a dress-up simulator for varied Harry Potter characters I'm fine with that vision- I just wish they would inform players that this is the direction they are going with. The mirror additions, meant to be funny and humorous, fall utterly flat in terms of comedy or intriguing content to me. I think it is a poor series of design and pacing decisions where I as a player recall having MORE to do and MORE to experience in a version 2 years ago than the current working version today. Once again, I don't know how their team is set up or how their scheduling works and I am well aware I am 'owed nothing' from them, but I find it very hard indeed to believe they can think they are making great progress when more time has been spent gutting existing content with each subsequent update than actually adding content. I guestimate off the top of my head about 45 minutes to an hour of additional reading/content has been added while roughly an hour to 90 minutes of reading/content has been removed. How is this building upon previous iterations? It's as if I am watching a demolition of a project in very slow motion. I think it's time to go back to Princess Trainer Gold.

I played the original, it was awesome, along with Princess Trainer. I never bothered replaying them, because i saw no reason no. However, i played through this 5 times at least,if not more. This game keeps bring me back,because the writing of certain scenes along with the very good art,and now some "videos" getting even better. With this latest release. 1.40.1 it felt a bit shortened in some areas. Potions were gone (temporarily if im correct,so they'll be back later) Luna's story got rewritten,which is good,but its much shorter now,compared to the previos ones, instead we got more Cho content and Tonks. I can't wait for the future updates, if they manage to add fullscreen CGs to most of the scenes eventually,and videos for iconic/high tier events, this will be the best trainer game of all time. I played almost every trainer game which is posted on this site,but i never played through more than once none of them.

So my conclusion is, if you like trainer games and don't mind a bit grind (for money mostly, but you can cheat it aswell): it's a must play.

Oh,and i almost forgot,if you finish the story it won't end the game anymore,if you don't want to. You just go back a bit in time,and you can resume playing. Also,if you decide to play NG+ you can bring all your hard earned gold,so you'll be freed from grinding without cheating!

Art is great. Everything else about this game is not. Progress with characters moves one millimeter at a time. You spend 8+ hours playing and you're still barely getting flashed by characters. It's especially frustrating when you start hitting the end of current content walls for characters without ever having received a single reward for your time.

This game is a prime example of stretching a very small number of art assets over a long period of play-time with ridiculous amounts of grind. Every scene is basically a slight variation to scenes you've already seen 10+ times.

This game has gotten so lost in adding clothing and accessory options that it has waylaid any real progress. Apparently, this developer would prefer to play barbie and dress-up rather than making a porn game with any actual content. I took a look at all the clothing options and laughed my ass off when I realized where the vast majority of this developer's work went.

Frankly, how a game with such a disturbing lack of unique content has so many fans and high reviews is confusing and makes me lose trust in the rating system on this website.

Rating above mine is immensely downplaying the amount of grind in this game, acting as if there isn't much. That is just not true, at all.

What's the whole point of having "cheats" when you can't even get Hermione to do basic "favors" such as groping her. Even with lv23 she doesn't do a damn thing. The whole point and favor system seems to be a complete waste of time. Even if I changed it to lv30, she still wouldn't go beyond the 3rd favor of showing her panties.

The sprites are ok and the music needs a major overhaul. I felt I wasted 2 hours of my time not being able to do anything in this game. I was hoping by now more locations would be available, but still only 4? I don't know how long this modded game has been out, but seems like a complete waste of time . You call only summon a small group of people to your "office", talk, get a few sexual favors, and that's it. Even with the cheat it's a major grindfest to see anything halfway decent happen.

I mean what I'm going to add. It's a rather lewd and hot game about Harry Potter girls, with solid sense of humor and plenty of gameplay elements. I do hope this game get's eventually fully finished. Will surely replay it then.

Wonderful game full of options, decisions and customizability. The game feels about 1/3 done, but still has a lot of content. The main story line is basically done, but it looks like there's room for a ton of additional content in future updates. That content will be nice, but the game provides a complete experience as-is.

The game has great dialog with very few errors. The dialog is humorous and well written. I only noticed two minor typos in the whole story.

Some parts of how progress is measured seems a bit strange and hard to understand at first. However, understanding it isn't necessary: just enjoy the game. It makes up for it.

The animations are minimal, but they make up for it with a well written story and a consistent art style.

So there are things to improve on, of course, but the positives far outweigh the negatives making this an excellent game that's still in development.

The beginning of the game is a bit odd and confusing, but that fits the story: the main character is also confused at that point.

I played this for 3 hours after enabling cheats just to explore the improvements and I am really disappointed.

First of all the lag is just unbearable. I see the textures have improved but the lag makes it hard to enjoy. I would rather have normal textures and no lag. My laptop is no beast but I have played many 3d renpy games and not seen any lag this bad.

Some cgs have been added. Most notable is the hermoine sex cg and its just not worth it. The genie is grabbing her head instead of her ass. And it just doesn;t look that good.

And the CGs are only for few events.

I have only seen hermoine content and this is solely based on that.

Love the interface improvement that this mod has, also the way that the new characters are included into the story, really like this mod and how it changes the game, especially the costumes, and the difficulty setting that has been added to the game.

Great extension to an awesome game!
More events, more clothes, additional mini-games, that's not just a few additions, the game is really enhanced.
A must-have for whoever enjoyed the original game.

This game brought me a lot of joy. It might be weird, but I actually do play these games for the plot, and the plot in this one did not dissappoint me. I'm not even a big HP fan, but the game kept my interest. I haven't laughed this much in a long time, probably since I finished Four Elements Trainer. I didn't care much for Cho, but Luna was a great addition. My only complaint is that there's not enough of her. She was basically my favourite girl. As for the base game, it was a little clunky when it came to unlocking new things. I got stuck for a long time, and then Hermione suddenly went from "that's gross" to "please give me coke". So I suppose the biggest issue this game has is pacing. Other than that, I don't really have any complaints. I had a great time.

I 100% absolutely LOVE Silver Mod and I will tell you why.

It adds on a huge amount of content for free on one of the classic adult games of one of my favorite, non-animated, childhood movies. They expanded on outfits, characters to dominate, quests, stories, places to visit, and the map itself even!

I absolutely respect the people that keep this great game going! I only have a couple issues though and it's not game related so don't you worry!

My personal cons:
- Wish content was added more frequently.
- Wish the "Latest Updates" showed this game... I have to physically hunt for it just to update my version!

Good game, hope it continues, as the original was great and few of us want it to die. The amount of changes is substantial, hopefully they get a regular artist and more substantial new scenes.
The amount of interaction from the team is a great selling point as well, please keep up the good work!
