September is their own deadline they put in to do all the stuff they have planned. After that comes "future development". Calling that near the end is very optimistic.

Considering that the planned roadmap is for a 10-30 minute vertical slice (according to their Patreon), it won't be anywhere near done when they finish it.
Which is the mistake a lot of people have been making lately. They just got this 30+k surge a short while ago. Before they were sub 10k with a 2 man team. If you haven't been following their progress it's pretty hard to judge it since you haven't seen the full picture. The moment they got the surge in money they went right to hiring people. It takes time to find a group of talented people with different skills and get them all in one location and setup to start production.
Their biggest backers simply want sex animations and don't have the patients for quest lines. They tried that in a previous build and lost thousands of dollars of funding because people are impatient and think things like this happen instantly. They simply didn't make new sex animations one build and it crippled them bad due to how people reacted. SO they learned their lesson and really beefed ups ex animations and are now working on the other stuff on the side with a set date of september to showcase that stuff.
There is also nothing of this quality out there either, So even if it didn't have a quest line it still trumps all the other 3d games out there including honey select and its god awful sounds and clipping. The only other game that even has somewhat solid quality close to this would be Aurils tails of azeroth series.
This game is simply in a league of its own and now has a full fledged team as of this month to really start striking the iron.

I gotta stop you there. Did you play the Jan 2017 build? It was total garbage. Surprised they even released it because it was SO broken. It wasn't about the animations, even though those didn't actually work for that build, it was about the release of a shit build that didn't work. Had I been a patron at the time of that release, I probably would have jumped ship too.

It was the first pass at testing it on their new setup. Expecting every single build put out during the earliest phases of a games creation to run smooth or not have issues is a wildly insane expectation.
Multi million dollar game companies still put out crap on patches or EA stuff. During early access to things you can't go in expecting perfection with each pass. If people jumped ship over a single instance then that's on them, because they clearly don't understand how game design works.
Most people took that as a giant failure, when in reality they probably learned quite a bit on what did and didn't work with that little test build. They even warned people going into that build about most of the poses being wip and not finished. The main goal was to test it and they could've just not released it at all, but they chose to share it with everyone even if you thought it was bad.
They've done nothing but improve since then, but people still wanna harp on a build that was legit not like all the other test ones. They tried something new and it was in the earliest of stages. Even if it worked perfectly fine it would've still received a bad impression because it didn't have a dozen people standing around you could have sex with.
I personally like to see all aspects of a game when it's being worked on. It's exciting and I take all the bad with the good. What you call shit, I call one more step in the process.
Also for the record, I didn't have a single issue with the build in question. I didn't crash, get stuck or have any issues like lots of people described. That was probably another reason for releasing it just to get feedback on how their system interacted with all the different types of hardware/OS. We made the best QA team when there is thousands of us and only 2 of them. The sheer amount of information they gained off of that if you tuned out the whining was probably worth it all.

story can wait. i honestly more enjoy that game for his sexual content than a story. i mean.. some of the best 3D models ever created with insane physics (i mean vagina deformation and all .. :O ), super smooth (even on my shitty i3 PC) ,good amount of poses, nice chars variation (black chicks still my fav for now, Lala)... some furry stuff, cum stuff and all.
meh, shit tons of 3D games dont even reach that amount of stuff, and probably will never reach that level of beauty.
the game as it is right now is amazing for a 2 guy job (they weren't more before, and most of work where done). game have good futur imho. i dont fucking care at all if it take years to be finish, its still enjoyable and i prefer a game that take years for a great stuff, than a rushed game with shit .

How do you access the female on female stuff, such as the animation pose from the Christmas release? When possessing a female and interacting with other females, I never see the option for sex with a female.

Its time for a quick update in this new week.
We want to use this chance to explain how we are structuring our project planning:
Basically we split the whole development into 2-week sized blocks that we call sprints. This makes task management easier and prevents us from losing focus on the big picture. Besides the development, we give the team room to reflect on the previous sprint and make improvements for the next one. In that way our work is more effective.
Since we want to be as transparent as possible we will post a short video every two weeks talking about our progress from these sprints and possibly also answering questions from the QnA channel.
If anyone has questions to a specific team-member or just in general, feel free to also post these into the QnA channel on our discord.
The next testing build is currently still on time and we expect it to be released* on the 25th of february to our Member-tier patrons.

*The Idea is that the 25$ builds are released some time in advance to our Member tier supporters to test. They then give us feedback about improvements they want, additions, bugs, and balances which we work into the game as we can.Then 1-2 weeks later we release the worked up version of that build for all other tiers (public, 5$ and 10$).

How do you play the game? All I can do is switch who I'm controller or make them follow me. There was no intro, or tutorial of any kind, am I missing something?
Its just a sex demo still. Dont look for any gameplay. Just go and enjoy the sex animations.

Yeah so turns out the problem was that I kept talking to female characters as a female so the sex option never appeared
yeah. no lesbian for now.
but they should have some soon i guess... stream show some nice lesbian poses.
