What software to put together custom loop animations? (Overwhelmed with all the options)

I would like to create some custom porn scenes. Animating them myself would be okay too, but I also would like to have something with a large variety of free assets.

So that I download a few characters, put them in a scene, add lights, SFX, atmosphere, background and then film that cinematic to create a nice loop.

So Blender would probably be the GOAT. But: Difficult to learn (?), huge rendering times.

Honey Select 2 looks very good with the next-gen shaders and has lots of characters, but as far as I am concerned, it's very limited with creating custom animations and doesn't really have many resources out there for new sex scenes.

Virt-A-Mate 1 won't be developed further, loading times for scenes take ages, and the system seems to be overcomplicated and fiddly.

DAZ is more for static images as far as I am concerned.
And regarding Unreal Engine I read that it features too few bones or something?

Blender and Unreal would be cool in terms of that what you learn will carry over for other things too.

But they might be overkill for my purpose..

So, what do you recommend?

In my opinion, it's worth learning Blender.

Yes, it's complicated, and yes it has a steep learning curve, but the skills you would learn by learning to use it to make smut are very transferable.

Unreal is cool, and the bone limit is easy to work around, but it's not nearly as flexible as Blender. It's getting possible to animate in Unreal, but that functionality is new and still not particularly refined.

Fuchsschweif You'd be amazed at how many top-tier games animated in Daz3D this forum's got...
I know that! I've been playing these games for years now. But I figured out that Daz3D probably isn't good as a mere "scene viewer" where you put together your favorite scenes and enjoy them in real time. I would have to render them out all the time in order to have good quality, as opposed to let's say VAM, where I can just enjoy it in real time.

Blender is insanely hard.

In Daz you can learn to do relatively nice-looking things quickly.

You can argue that Blender is more applicable skill in the industry - but I can't underscore enough how difficult it is.
