Please a Dreams Of Desire direct sequel with all characters and music... You'll have glory and money

Dreams of Desire, the original, for me was a mixed bag... It started off very strong, and I really enjoyed it... But past the half way mark, the Pro's began to be slightly abandoned and it began to be a bit off on the story aspects, and started catering more for the porn fest crowd and less about the deep story and overall character development... The inclusion of the holiday events in the middle of the normal game play, also felt completely out of place and I believe should have been separate entities rather then being dropped in the middle of content... Because of all these things...
The only way I could see a Sequel being better, is to learn from the mistakes of the first, pay far more attention to deep story, meaningful characters who feel real, consistent attention to all aspects of the VN/Game without pandering to the paying minority, good character development for not just the main characters but for the protagonist and side characters as well, and the list goes on... If it's just gonna be done for the sake of having a sequel or to just to keep the donation money rolling in, then I'ld rather see something new from the developers... Taking some of the lessons they learned the first time through and placing their attention on something unique, rather then a re-envisioned version of the same VN/Game, or a re-hash of the same, and so on...

Which mean, from my point of view, less "no" votes.
Personally I'm like Zippity , full of mixed feelings. The game started as a real hit, but ended abruptly. It let me with the impression to have seen a Z movie made by some wanabe Stanley Kubrick, that suddenly discovered that he past half of the time he have to make his movie, filming just the first ten minutes.
The game start slowly, trying to raise the suspense, to deeply install the story, and even trying to install interesting game mechanisms. Then, the more the game advanced, the more the pace goes faster, living with the impression that the time was running low and a lot of sacrifice had to be done. Alas, like Zippity said, what was sacrificed was what made the game interesting at first.
It's not only the fact that it start like a game and end like a visual novel that is a problem. In the first half of the updates, we almost know nothing about the story, then, while we still don't know much, it ended in three updates. Going from "alright, so it's this" to "everybody is dead, you'll now live happily for the rest of your life", like this. The MC, full of question, full of doubt and suspicion, forgave his sister in two seconds... His life became a hell because of her, his other sister almost died because of her, his mother was in danger because of her, but it's wasn't her fault, hop, everything is forgave. And his father ? It's the center of the story in so many updates, but it's almost if we know more at the end, that we knew at start.
So, wanting a sequel ? If it answer the questions, why not. But if it end being like the original, it will be a loose of time. An interesting loose of time, because I liked reading the story, but I'm still waiting for Dreams of Desire episode 13, like people are waiting for the next episode of an abruptly stopped TV series.

Depends if you want it to be good or not.
If the dev had no intentions of making a sequel and does it just to keep his playerbase quiet he's not going to put his best effort into it because it wasn't what he wants to do.
I just wish that you could play as female in the first game since you can the protagonist's body with a girl's and little of value would be lost.

I wouldn't be opposed to it, so I'll add my name on it to bring the possibility up, but at the same time it seems like DoD is pretty much wrapped up and good to go in the stage it's in right now, albeit the ending with the MC's father. If the sequel was primarily a prequel game, taking place with mostly new characters with some returning familiar faces, or primarily focused on the MC trying to find and free his father after a certain ending, I'd see it as a possibility. However, I'm still interested if LewdLabs considers it.
