Maybe it's just me problem, but I really hate Patreon's voting system. They really should've planned the plot from start to finish. Especially if they're still inexperienced in making game. I know that they're just catering to their supporter/ making more, but at least finish your damn game first before thinking of adding another filler girl/feature. I personally just lost interest on the story of an incomplete game (especially the one with generic art/story ) then forgetting that game existed until I see it on latest update tab.

Of course there's an exception to that. But you still need to have the talent of making something good while taking suggestion from basically a bunch of coomer.

Japanese VN for the win fuck all the western game and their generic 3D girl [/ISPOILE]

I don't know what some of you are talking about, the "industry" is better than it's ever been. Just download completed games or ones that are very far into their development, it's crazy how many good games we get every year. I still remember the days when our only options were softcore VNs, AliceSoft RPGs, and the occasional Newgrounds meet 'n' fuck game, lol.

2º Too much feedback from players: Many people comment constantly on what they like or not, limiting the developer's vision of their project, there isn't anything more weird that characters acting out of their character so that a certain scene is made optional and I get it, we all have likes and dislikes but I believe that we need a basic tolerance to fetishes that we don't personally like.
I do think this is a bit of a problem. It is fine giving feedback and it is fine for the devs to even take the feedback. But they need to stand firm on what their vision is and not bend to what is typical vocal minorities. Three examples from GL that gets asked a lot.
1) Can we have sex with our mom - no, because we feel it doesn't fit the mothers personality.
2) Can we have sex with Ed aka Anushka's father - no because he is protective of his daughter and other teen girls to a degree, him taking advantage of his daughters friend doesn't match his personality
3) can we have sex with Zin - no, because she is not a lesbian or bisexual. Not all NPC's are bi in our game and it to me kills immersion if everyone is sexable. We have a much higher percentage of bisexual girls than there is in RL, but it is a porn game, but no not all of them are and never will. Just like not all the male NPC'swill be interested in girls or young girls, or just the MC for a variety of reasons.

If we did all the above and all the other questions like them, to me it would ruin the game. It would make it less immersive, since part of GL is to create a world for the player to play in.

Maybe I'm insane, but the "western" market it the only one that interests me in the slightest.

Yeah, the japanese market has actual, legit porn GAMES, some of which are good quality. Frankly, though, a lot of them border on disturbing (hardcore rape/snuff) or are the same old same old re-skinned game like all of that Miel garbage. Western 2dcg is better if you aren't a lolicon, and even the western loli stuff in daz is better if you aren't a weeb, there I said it.

The absolutely FREE and open market we have right now is incredible. The quality of stuff you get from mostly small teams of amateurs is far and above where it should be for what they are getting paid for the most part. I don't know how many of you have every tried drawing OR 3d rendering, but this stuff becomes a full time job very quickly.

Except if you are a professional you can't go to your next coding interview and tell them that you've spent the last 2 years working on an 3d incest harem smut novel. So if it's not making you money, and you can't put it on a resume, then you are left with amateurs and hobbyists.

All in all we might be in a small lull after the boom of a couple years past, but in general things are only getting better. Getting more "mainstream" and professional will absolutely smother any creativity, be careful what you wish for.

I think we're close to the point where a lot of people have good skills with 3DCG and can create visually interesting things. Sad part is they all mostly suck balls in the writing department and have serious self-esteem problem so they all create the over-repetitive One cock to rule them all family & friends incest big cock MC plotline. Everyone has seen the success of many good dev and they are all trying to get a piece of that pie. Most realise there's not a lot of money available and as more and more of those come out daily it takes a lot more for us who actually support the games on Patreon and Subscribestar and fuck knows other websites to open our wallet. So we keep seeing those V.00.00.00.001 that never go anywhere because either Dev lost interest or saw it's not gonna paid dividend soon.

Not a big fan of visual novels myself, I see mostly VN out there. I see them as consumable stories, animated, but basically it is like reading a comic book. You could print them... Participation does not feel interactive with these, imho.

I wish there were more realistic 3D simulations with physics based interaction. When will we have RTX enabled raytracing games? When will we have games that let you do fun stuff AND give you useful feedback, like muses that teach you what/how, not sirens that give you wrong feedback and will lead you into a life of isolation.

The day a team of two dozen professional 3D artists and coders will agree to works their ass out during five years for their share of US$ 200/month.

Necroing a one year old thread to say this, not sure it was worse the pain.

Didn't know it was that much work.
