honestly I will never understand why any devs would release to public such a short demo. its barely even long enough to be a de

if they are looking for backing then all it shows to me is that they will make short updates, as anyone backing this will be showing that's what is expected, and that they are not really sure what the game will involve, as the overview has more groundwork and content than the 'demo'.

it really does show more negatives than positives to prospective investors, which IS after all, the reason for patreon.

if they are NOT looking for backing then it shows they lack patience and it will end up being a quick squirt of a game.

not sure what other impression anyone is supposed to make as its just a quickfire renders+words at this point and this site has seen many

Hi there,

Please don’t take this in a wrong way but even this short demo took relatively large amount of work. Setting up the interface the music and of course the quality of the renders is something I like to dedicate time to.

Our aim was to give an initial impression of the tone of the game. It also allows us to get feedbacks really early and listen to them. I’m sorry that it felt too short for you.

personally I have no knowledge of how much work it takes to make a game as coding is not a language I know, my PC artistic side is small enough to draw on a pin head with plenty of space left too :)

my comments are more about public impression as a demo normally is a short demonstration of what the game will be.
this demo shows no type of gameplay and if I had not read the overview then I would not have much of a clue as to what it will be about. surely a few flash scenes with a brief story outlook or brief backstory(just on a first release for better impact) and maybe even a short explanation at the end (just white text on a black background kind of thing) of the demo to say what type of gameplay will be involved, for any future first releases is worth thinking about.

I have a history of sales and customer service which is why I consider first impressions to be lasting.

I certainly don't take your words in any negative and I hope you can see some wisdom in my own, they are after all, just my own impressions. food for thought if nothing more

I will have to agree with @buttlovinmagic in the sense that while we have a good sense of the quality of the writing and the render we still have no idea on how it will pan out gameplay wise.
Will it look almost like a kinetic novel with few choices or will it veer to the sandbox/russian grind where you have to test every possible combination of 23 variables , the time of the day, the day , the places , the weather,...To do advance the story. That has an impact and good render and good writing can't always make up for bad game design.
Don't take this too much at heart tho I suppose it take a lot of time to make a game. But if it's "only" the render that take time you could've always add a "gameplay part" with placeholder to get early feedback on the base system.

You are right. Let me put this in a bit of context.
When we decided to freeze our previous project we had the luck that few of original patrons still stayed to support us.
Their dedication and support for me was really heartwarming and motivated us to show them something as early as we can. Once the demo was out, it was my idea to share it as well in this forum.

Gameplay is coming, it just takes us a bit more time.

I havn't played Fall of Ashenburg since I only discovered this site after it was put on hold, but that game seemed to have some glowing reviews about the dungeon crawling and combat mechanics. As I understand it, the dev decided to move on to this project because, the previous game's concept, while good at what it was intending to do, didn't have the mass appeal. I think this game will be a lot more story driven. I'm sure we can expect good things in future updates. The overview seems quite interesting and superhero genre is perfect for porn games.

We all understand it takes time to do things. Especially with the high quality renders, which from playing around with DAZ and Blender myself, are a bitch to do over and over. Its admirable you wanted to get a quick version out fast to your loyal fans, but hopefully they will be loyal enough to give you some slack on dev time in the future. So we can get longer updates ;)
