Sandbox games are notorious for being 'grindy' with Big Brother being basically a one game reason why that opinion cemented itself, doesn't matter if the sandbox game in question isn't actually grindy. Similar to RPGmaker, which people connect with gameplay, something that runs a bit counter when the reason they are playing is to rub one out. Now combine that together and you got a mix people are more likely to bitch about. You're probably right, I sometimes forget that people often value tags a lot. But what's wrong with a sandbox or rpgm? It doesn't seem to matter how good the execution is.
Far too many people seem to only care about the porn part of porn games. At this rate, there won't be any global improvements at all. AI sex chats is the future, I suppose.
You really need something to tickle someone's fancy to make them play such games. Be it a good story or really good art.
