Otherwise, it makes no sense that they ignore the glaring problem of their most popular game
how are all the best ones those with the shit devs
Honestly, it's not even about the best, it's about the best selling. Often products that deserve attention never get it because the effort is more focused on the product itself and it works both ways; this is how we get overpriced shit in the first place (I am not talking about SS in this case). It becomes even more apparent with indie products, that's why you should always talk about underpriced, high quality things you like, because if you don't talk about it - other people might never know it exists.
When is the day that can be marked abandoned?
Are you evil? Here it is (30 April). Here is the long answer, in case anyone else is interested.

Bad comparison. A car needs the required parts to function. An already-working game with just one added scene will still work.

The rework could have been broken down into multiple updates, as one update is a monumental task that takes years to complete. Of course, what's the other reason one update takes years to complete? Maybe it's not too late to buy land in the Chronicles of Elyria.
The already-working game is the version out now v0.20.16. With parts of the code still needing reworked and the posing only partially complete for the change from 4:3 to 16:9 display ratio - there is no version that can function on its own at this time.

Could it have been broken down into multiple updates? Maybe, maybe not. I don't know and you don't know. It's merely conjecture. What part would you want done first? The 4:3 to 16:9 display ratio? Along with that display ratio change needs all the posing for those scenes to be redone. Note that posing is not complete by the posers. One reason why: the posing required new coding for a posing system that would work. Another reason: renaming the layers which go into posing into a consistent naming scheme.

The hodge podge of the current code is a major reason why nearly the entire code is being revised because, as it has been stated, for all the frankensteining done over the years - it's luckly the game works as it is. If you want to just continue to hodge podge code bit by bit it's only moving the problem down the line and not addressing it now.

It is actually an apt comparison if you consider that in order to do one thing for the update, several other things have to be in place and working correctly.

I've seen a couple of animations like that. Are those made by fans? If so DC needs to fucking hire the person or people doing them.
That is dildorog (see lower right hand corner) and dildorog has created a few animations for the game that DC has used in the past. See: 62,211 - in particular I am referencing the Ivy & Jane scenes in v0.20.13 in that post.

dildorog art carrying this thread lately:LUL:
Better than the wallpapers tbh:whistle:
I mean other than complaining about the wait time, there isn't really much to talk about. I just checked some of his stuff on rule34 and there is stuff there that is a lot better than the scenes we currently have in the game.

I think one of the biggest mistakes DC made was that he called what he was currently doing, an "update".

Imo, it's anything but.

Not only is he changing the aspect ratio, but he's reworking numerous scenes, in both story/dialogue and image, and expanding every single background that exists, as well as creating new locations to flesh out the larger map.

Even if he's still not gotten to the next character he's working on, which by his semi daily streams, he's almost done art wise, he's still adding a ton of new content to the existing game.

It's also clear that he greatly underestimated the time it was going to take to get it done, and just how arduous it was going to be for the people (coding/posing) to stick with it and complete it.

For the people that post here complaining it's not yet done, I can say with certainty that it's going to be months before you get to play it.

My advice is to look elsewhere for awhile an enjoy whatever other devs have to offer for the time being.

Yeah, most people figured 'widescreen' meant, just filling in the sides and we're back to progressing the story.

But it is absolutely undeniable, my guy has a continuous source of income for seemingly forever (unless someone/thing makes the patreons pull out) and it would simply be unwise to haul ass and work for the same amount of money.

Did he cut in the admins? Otherwise, it makes no sense that they ignore the glaring problem of their most popular game

right? Breeder of the Nephelim, Dark Magic, Mythic Manor, NTRaholic, Spooky Milk Life, Where the heart is, Bioasshard and so many outstanding games start so well with fast updates and end up just being milk machines for money hording devs that give us updates once a year if we are lucky and that update is close to nothing while people like the dev for light of my life updates every half year, but that update takes 3 hours to complete

He's obviously overhauling the whole game with years of content, and i'm sympathetic to that. What i'm less sympathetic to is his unwillingness to hire more devs for coding. Last i heard one person was rewriting thousands of lines of code for this game and isn't that why it's taking so long? He needs to outsource because i'm sure even he knows this timeframe is unacceptable.

People have been saying that for years and he still hasn't hired more people.

Would just doing them for widescreen and then just downscaling really be that much work?
Maybe I don't know. Never worked on something like this so my knowledge is very limited. At this point I just want him to finish the tech udpate as soon as possible so I am ok with him not releasing those small updates. I didn't even play any of the ones he released after the main story was finished.
