VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Soul Of The Paintings [v0.9] [TiDeMooN]

I regret even trying this. It's so awful that it is hard to describe and express with words.
Plot is one of the worst I ever seen in adult gaming "industry". Writting is one of the worst I've ever seen, as well. Lame, uninteresting...
Most of the charcters are poorly designed and not appealing, although there are some which are quite nice and attractive. Renders are of acceptable quality.
Adult content is rushed and forced, which is... preposterous and not acceptable at all.
If you seek for good story, absence of forced sexual content and freedom to choose with who MC will have sexual encounters - than, by all means, stay away from this.

Plot of this game is really lame. Each one of the girls we met want to fuck with us even without using super power, just like that. Sex scens are 1 second loops of poor quality.

I liked this game a lot, but it has some flaws.

Things I liked:

1) This is a fundamentally nice game. It's really easy to play through while keeping the MC very sweet-natured.

2) The protagonist can, by painting or drawing, magically makes someone horny and suggestible - IF they're already attracted to the MC. And even then, characters don't always do what the main character asks for (i.e., "I don't want to blow you right now, but you can eat me out if you want.")

I liked it. It makes this game feel less "rapey" than many mind-control games.

3) The girls are really hot - for my tastes. By which I mean, their boobs aren't insanely huge (not even the MILF's!), and some of them have tattoos or dyed hair. If you're into that, you'll enjoy this game.

4) The MC's penis is not ludicrously huge. (It's big, but not so big that it's distracting.)

5) The facial expressions are often lively and nice to look at, rather than oddly frozen.

6) I like that the costumes have thoughts put into them, and characters don't wear the same outfits every single time you see them.

Cons:

1) The language is stiff, and I noticed one or two typos.

2) The characters usually aren't well integrated into the backgrounds; they often just sort of float above the backgrounds.

This can be distracting - i.e., sex in the studio feels like they're just floating in air. Or a scene in a hallway in which Kylie, if she stood up, would be fourteen feet tall.

It might work better if the backgrounds faded partway to black for the sex scenes, so the non-integration between characters and environment would be less distracting.

3) The "strange old woman" character looks 40 at the oldest. If you said she was 30, I'd buy it. (If you look at the banner at the top of the thread, that's her, the big floating head in the middle). If you're not going to make her look old, then why call her an old woman? Just call her the "strange woman."

4) The figures look superhot and nice when standing and posing. But in more complex poses - hands on hips, or hugging - they can seem stiff and unnatural. (That's very common in these games, of course).

5) In version 0.8, there's a bug at the end where you skip from the middle of one sex scene to the middle of another. I assume that'll be fixed with the next update, though.

I like this game a lot. Despite the flaws, it has a sweet nature and some really hot women. I'll keep on downloading the updates.

Cons:
- Update too Short

Conclusion:
Love that you dont run around senseless, plus the game doesnt get boring at all.
Also the Renders look very Good.
The Game is also going at a good pace,not pulling useless game play to the Max.
The Animation is also Top notch.
The only thing that bothered me was that the Version 0.8 just had around 5 Minutes of Game Play,otherwise Top notch.

This review is for 0.7.8, which was (a) my first time trying this game and (b) a complete play through. I enjoyed this visual novel, but I'm giving this a 3-star rating mostly due to the quality of the visuals.

The story is entirely linear, with choices affecting points with girls that enable some scenes, but is pretty good for a contrived porn plot. Technically, you can check if you've make the best choice by the Lust Points menu, but using the walkthrough is much less clunky. The models are pretty good and there's variety between the girls, though they are rather 2-dimensional, and the girls change outfits regularly. Writing could use some work, both in terms of English (more so later in the game and there's one place where MC is used rather than the selected name) and in clarifying which character you're controlling (genre should include "female protagonist" and "multiple protagonists").

There's no audio in the game. The gallery is very broken in that it's available from the start, doesn't show all scenes and the wrong scenes, and acts like a load rather than a replay.

Visuals have some issues. Background style is inconsistent, particularly the art studio. A lot of the renders are grainy, sort of like taking a picture where there's not enough light. There's at least one render where a girl is missing the lower half of an arm. Characters sort of float against the background, particularly during animations. Animations are jerky (not enough frames due to using transitions between images rather than actually adding video files), often have too many repetitions, and in at least one place doesn't pause at the end of a scene.

This game is great, but it is reaching new levels of slow updating. Each update brings very little, and I keep being disappointed. My advice, play this game once (because it is a very good one), then wait at least 6 months, maybe even a year, and maybe you will have enough material to enjoy it.

Keep in mind that my Rating is based on the Version 0.4 of this game. Content currently missing in this Version does not influence my rating.

So ... I like it.
Characters look good, they are not copied from other games and they don't have unrealistic tits and ass. Facial expressions are really good also.
Storyline is not the strength of this game. It's used to combine all the scenes with different persons to a plausible story. Not much more, but it gets the Job done. The main focus of this game is the (sometimes rather fast) development of relationships with different characters.

The speed of development seems to be very good aswell. Sure, the game doesn't take that long to complete but there is more than enough going on considering that the game was releases less than 3 months ago.

So definetly worth keeping an eye out for it.

The game with one of the most beautiful female characters I have ever seen... Kylie is nearly perfect, i love her. She looks like an Angel and she is not a Bitch, she is sweet and even a little shy, I love it.
Also the Story is good so far and has a lot of potential. I really enjoyed the Game and i was a little sad when it was over. i hope it goes on fast, with a lot of content.

I absolutely loved the gorgeous girls. Especially their hairstyles.
All 3d models are fresh, all game characters are distinct and human like. I love it so far.
This game made me start supporting stuff on Patreon.
I can't wait to see more.

The following review is based off my personal experience with playing this Game/Visual Novel... I try to be as brutally honest and detailed as I can, and these are my own opinions and thoughts, from one or more play throughs...


(02/18/2018 - Original Review - v0.1)

This visual novel/game is a very short introduction and doesn't even really reveal much about the existence of the plot at all...

The visuals of the characters are decent, although the landlady (referred to in game as the landowner) looks familiar, as though I've seen her model in another VN/game, not sure... The backdrops for inside the protagonists room look kind of quickly thrown together... The outside backdrops are pretty much all real photos that have been slightly modified to look drawn/painted... Not sure if they are placeholders or not?

The script is ok, but has a lot of spelling/grammar errors... There were even a few misused words, so unsure if that was accidental or a case of mistranslation... There is not much revealed about the plot at all, because all that this current content really does is very quickly introduce 3 characters, and tease one fantasy dressed character right as the content ends... I'm going to guess that the fantasy character would have actually revealed the actual plot of this VN/Game? But that didn't happen...

All we know from this very short introduction, is that it revolves around a male protagonist who is jobless, owes rent to his landlady, literally runs into her daughter, meets a half naked artist offering an art class, then he runs into a fantasy dressed woman (doesn't even speak with her or have thoughts about her) and the content is over... Slam bam thank you ma'am, done...

Overall, there is an extremely low amount of content in this initial introduction, with very short character introductions, a very quick breast visual, and that is about it... I expected a bit more story and/or plot reveal content for an initial introduction... The author/s tried to be humorous with the brief introduction of the narrator, but I didn't find it humorous and it really was not necessary... Totally unsure about this VN/Game so far, as so little is actually revealed or hinted at or even said by the characters... There is literally about 2 or 3 minutes of reading and seeing visuals before it is done... Feels a lot more like a Concept DEMO or Tech Test then a VN/Game introduction...


(02/26/2018 - Review Update - v0.2)

Decided to check out the update to see if I could find out a little more about the plot and so forth for this VN/Game... So far the script from v0.1 content looks mostly fixed, but still has some misused words... The text from the new content has several spelling/grammar errors as well as misused words scattered all through it... Definitely needs some more proofreading...

The erotic/sexual scenes are very short and feel a bit rushed and chaotic... Such as the Zoe scene, the positions change so rapidly, it almost feels completely unnatural... Not enough text or so forth between changes, which again makes them feel very rushed, as every click changes to a whole different sex position...

The plot feels a lot more revealed now in this update, showing the protagonist having a mystical type ability granted to him by sources unknown... It seems to follow a form of corruption type motif... Increasing something in the women around the protagonist when he creates different sorts of art, that makes it easier for the protagonist to be more sexual with/around them... It's a unique way of going with the corruption theme... Once the story text gets some more proofreading and so forth, I can see some potential in this VN/Game...

As it is so very early in production, I expect some issues... There are a few moments now and then, that the story feels a slight bit rushed, but that is easily fixable... The current content is mostly plot introduction as well as meeting various prime characters, while also introducing the mystical corruption concept... We'll have to wait and see how things progress... I went ahead and updated the stars to 3, as it is showing some improvements... But it still has a ways to go and more improvements to put into place, before I can rate it any higher... I will most likely re-visit it sometime down the line, perhaps several versions into it's development, to see if it has fixed it's key issues and is improving overall... Only time will tell...
