I wish someone who was a patreon of theirs would get in contact with the developers and please ask them to drop the Flash platform, it's literally garbage for this sort of game. This is one of the highest potential western porn games out there right now, the art is some of the very best and the story is actually interesting and well written, unlike the vast majority of games here... but the game is really buggy because of the Flash platform. Random freezing when you click the screen at the wrong time (which you do to try and speed through the dialog after having played the game several times already), clunky animation and transitions (again, flash limitations). There's simply no reason to use flash when platforms like Renpy exists. It's so sad that such a high-potential game falls flat on its nose on such a basic thing as using the ancient and useless Flash platform.
The developer is on f95, i linked him in my post about the update

Fear not the dev is on it, this is from the patreon.

"Hey, we're glad you're enjoying the game so far. We're using flash at the moment because it allows us to achieve what we're trying to do with relative ease and we can reach a large audience by hosting online in browser. Ideally we'd like to move up to a more sophisticated engine in the future (whether this is Unity or not we'll just have to see). Rest assured we are looking into alternatives, although currently HTML5 is looking more likely than Unity unless we expand the scope of the product to be worth picking up an engine as robust as Unity. I hope this answers your question :) - Hallows"

I really hope they don't use Unity, Unity is becoming a meme at this point. There is very little reason to use Unity for a visual novel when Ren'Py exists. Unity will mean more bugs, more complexity, for no gain.

Anyone know how to actually save in the game? Unlike other browser games like CoC there is no window pop-up to select where to place the save file. It just tells me it's saved but I don't see proof of that anywhere.

Or is the save function only used when you have the game open and the saves are lost when you close the window?

We're working on revamping the save UI because it's a bit confusing. You have to press 's' to bring up the save menu, and then press the 'save' button in the bottom right. Then, click the save button again to make a new save file (you can have seven save files + the autosave). To overwrite a save file, click the save button and then click one of the save slots, and then click the same save slot again. - Hallows

I mean, I could work out that much. My question was more directed at the fact that once you close the game window, the saves are scrubbed and lost, which doesn't allow for easy replayability.

I know it's kinda a stupid complaint since the game is pretty short at this point and you can get quickly to every decision, but yeah... I suppose the UI will have been revamped by the time you upload a new update.

Save files should persist between sessions, although while investigating this I did find that if you reload the game and then load a save file it scrubs all the saves (except the autosave). I've resolved this issue now but I'm not sure if it's the cause of your problem or if something else is causing that.

We just released 1.0.2 to the public. Content is pretty much the same as 1.0.1 but there's now a fully functional gallery and accompanying music to several scenes.

It would be really awesome if it would be a separate downloadable file :)

This game is legit, is there a walkthrough though? Kind of hard to figure out every path.

I thought this game is about a werewolf girl. Why is everytime i heard the word Sanguine Rose i thought of a wolf lol.
Well the art in this game is cool and has a good storyline, but why is this in Flash.

It works for what we wanted to do, and being able to upload to sites like Newgrounds is huge in terms of reach. For future projects, we'll be moving away from Flash. The tldr for Sanguine Rose is that Renpy was too limited and Unity is unnecessary for a visual novel.

While the art is good, I have no further praise for it. Since the dialogue boxes are glitchy as hell and it keeps rewinding itself like a broken tape. Can't even get past the very first scene.

It doesn't happen to me, you must be experiencing a bug.
