That's right. During day 2, when Carmen asks what you should do with Crow, say you want to hear Carmen's ideas. Don't send Crow out to whore. You should unlock both of the new scenes towards the end of day 2.
Ooooh, when it said to not send Crow out to whore, I just stopped Carmen before she could share the idea. Silly me. Thank you :)

There really isn't a consensus or best practice in naming builds, besides having versions convey useful information. In our case, the first number refers to the number of complete days you can play through, the second number refers to the number of additional scenes we've added since the previous day's release, and the third number represents minor dialogue changes, ui edits, etc. I feel like it's a pretty compact way of letting people know a lot about each version without even having to read the changelog. Besides, the content of a game should matter more than how 'final' it is, so it's kind of silly to have a fixation on something being finished - You should be more concerned about how much content a game has, regardless of its version number.

I thought that might be the case, glad you're all sorted now :D

sorry just got the 1.0 set in stone in my mind so when i saw "generaly" it was really a laughing matter to me, but even if i don't think that the "generaly" was coherent, i don't have anything against the way builds are named, and just having the "rules" of naming explained is already quite helpfull to understand what there's to see in the demo, so no problem for me, game seem nice i'll test it quickly later and i'll may follow it later ^^

seem like it miss word, even if it had all the word to make a complete sentence, it would not have anything to do with what i was saying as i wasn't asking information but giving a comment ... dude i was just laughing what are you pointing me to read more information about >< so get yourself together before saying useless stuff (feel like i wrote this not long ago ^^) if you're wondering why i was commenting, it was just cause game that need founding tend to have a hard time looking like a good investment in the early stage so being laughable doesn't make a good first impression was just thinking this would be nice to point out ^^

edit : you where not that wrong i guess, did not saw the advise well ><

The demo is great and art is fantastic. Debating whether to go for the patreon swing or not but so far I'm impressed by the dialogue.

Glasha is best girl tho. Wish there was more content from her (am a sucker for muscular fighter women).

This game, I started it a couple of times in the past, and forgot about it after a few minutes of gameplay. Now I have started it again, and I find that is amazing. Why is that? Because, at the beginning of the game, I felt like trying to understand the second season of "Game of Thrones" without haven seen the first one. I even thought that this game was the second part of another one, and looked for it.

I think that this game would be more popular if there were a prologue with a few images to explain the background of the characters and the characteristics of that fantasy universe to put the player into context and to help him to "enter" into the game.

The first 15 minutes of gameplay are critical, IMO, because they are the ones that will make the player decide to continue playing or to leave the game and forget it. The devs should do something to "hook" better the players at the beginning of the game, IMO, because the rest of the game deserves it.

It's a common misconception :coldsweat: From what we've seen and heard of Carmen, she's definitely a skilled fighter, but in a fair fight I'd wager Markus, Roman, or Glasha could take her. The problem is that Carmen will never fight fair. She catches people when their guard is lowered, uses their own strength against them, and generally keeps her opponents reacting. This works well for her because the mercenaries are under orders not to harm Carmen.

As for the hypnosis, she's just very persuasive. She's good at reading people and working out what they actually want, and then finding a way to give them a taste of that. We see this in Crow's Shift when Crow initially despises Carmen, but a few hours later is corrupted.

Ouch haha. That's a fair criticism. I think any work of fiction has characters which are as strong as they need to be, whether that's physical strength or any other kind of strength. Establishing a plausible reason for that strength is secondary. In Carmen's case, it's because she's spent the majority of her life training amongst soldiers, learning from seasoned warriors, and studying the battles of past generals. Even before she joined the Sanguine Rose militia, she was a deceptive child. I think if we had more time and resources, I'd want to show more of Carmen's early life, so that her skills are better established. But in a porn game, making more porn scenes is usually what the people want.
Actually, I think that Carmen is a Grey from "50 Shades of Grey". I haven't read that book or seen the movie, but as far as I know, the guy is so handsome, charismatic, attractive, rich and powerful that "charms" females into submission, or something like that :idontcare::idontcare::idontcare:

Yes, I´m afraid Carmen is too perfect and that makes her unpleasant as character (IMO, of course). I'm hoping that, at some point, someone spills a bucket of frozen water on her head and takes her ego down a peg or two. :closedtongue::closedtongue::closedtongue:

She's not only extremely beautiful, intelligent, manipulative and cold blooded, she's also a highly skilled warrior... I'm sorry but it's too weird to read that a seasoned mercenary that weights 20 Kg. of muscle more than her (according the drawings) and could put her to sleep with a single punch, is so scared of her even when she's unarmed. I know is a fantasy world, but even in a fantasy world must exists plausibility.

Seriously, I hope later in the game we'll find that she has some flaws, weaknesses, that she can make mistakes, or something that makes her look like a human being and a better character. Unless she's actually a vampire :p:p:p

PD. I don't want to sound too critic with the game. Is a GREAT game. Better art than Good Girl Gone Bad and pretty good dialogues and situations. It's just that there are some specific things about the character of Carmen that take me out of the game immersion.

Interesting story, fantastic art style, I'm waiting for further updates! :D
Thanks! I hope you both continue to enjoy the game as we develop it.

Interesting! We've actually never received feedback like this before, although we did experiment with making a introduction video of sorts that eventually was pretty much scrapped. It's possible I put a bit of my own bias into the game, since I generally like stories that begin media res and let the audience work out what's going on, but you could be on to something about making a prologue. Thank you for saying so.

I'd be interested to know if anyone else in the thread agrees?

That's fair, I think immersion is always a tricky thing to get right when it brushes up against the themes which a dev can be aiming for. Like, if we wanted to ground Sanguine Rose in more realism, Glasha would be the prisoner, since she has the strength to actually overpower her captors, but then it couldn't really be a porn game since nobody would let their guard down around Glasha (well some people would) and she isn't really a smooth talker. It's kind of like how a realistic war game would either be pretty boring or a slaughterhouse where you die within ten minutes and never respawn - depending on which war the game is based on. If Carmen could easily be physically put in her place, it wouldn't be the game we wanted to make :coldsweat:

Well, actually, I think it makes sense. Carmen doesn't need to be a skilled warrior to be a General. To be a General she needs to be a tactician and strategist. So, it makes sense that she uses her brains, manipulative skills and sex appeal and not her physical force to break free. But making her as strong as a man, without being an orc, a vampire, or something like that, is like if she's able to fly.

Well, the best feedback would be the one from the people that have forget about the game after the first ten minutes, and I'm afraid that that's pretty difficult feedback to obtain since most of them are not here already.

PD. Also, don't trust fanboys. They'll only tell you what you want to listen. I know I'm not going to make friends by telling this, but it's a loyal advice.

Personally, I like to discover the background and the characters as the story progresses. One of the things that makes me look forward to the next release is to know things like the past of the characters, if the group was betrayed, more than where they are (until now we only know the place, the tavern and the forest) or the magnitude of the forces that are facing. I don't think knowing more at this point would be good, as I said, the knowledge as the game progresses is better.
I also really like the semi-claustrophobic environment in which the action is developed so far.

That's fair, and yeah you're probably right. Asking people who've stuck with the game isn't gonna do us much good really. Thanks.

Thank you for saying so! I guess some things work for some people and don't work for others. I might put a screen on the main menu that gives people a bit more information and context about the world if they want/need it, and leave the core game to slowly reveal the backstory as it goes. Hopefully that can please everybody (it probably won't but it's worth a shot haha)
