Unity - Abandoned - R-Life [v0.8.5f Fix Patreon] [SEGameX]

While the game lacks a lot of features, and its clearly unfinished, I think it has a lot of potential, the main problem is that there really hasn't been an update in so long, but I still have some hope the dev will comeback someday

EDIT: While the review on the game itself still stands somewhat, I had to lower the rating to a 1 star because the developer is a pathological liar who for 4 years straight promised to release an update (on multiple occasions saying it was nearly finished) to only then delay it for vague and arbitrary reasons. Do not support this guy.

[General Summary]

This game is obviously a hobby, with stuff like purchased or free assets being everywhere in the game, and it shouldn't be taken too seriously. Especially since this game is developed by one person. However, there are some ideas and directions that I really enjoy and want to see further improved upon in future updates. Meanwhile there's some really odd stuff that can make the experience pretty awkward.

[Likes/Pros]
- Dream World. It's a pretty fun hidden game where you don't need to worry about survival as much, you just have to fight off goons. There are a couple of female enemies you may encounter, which you can have sex with after defeating them and dragging to a specific location. This seems to be a popular feature, as later updates plan on integrating female enemies with the same mechanics into the real world.
- Continuing on, you can have a Girlfriend follow you around and help fight enemies in the dream. You can have sex with her at any time, doing so will heal both of you. If she "dies", you can revive her with sex. Failing to do so will send her back to her house, where you either need to feed her to revive or see a special sex scene with her (this doesn't revive her).
- Difficulty is acceptable, not too hard but not too easy
- Sex scenes are decently animated

[Dislikes/Cons]
- Survival. Despite it being the main focus of the game, it's sadly not that enjoyable. It simply amounts to wandering around in random places and collecting whatever is on the floor. It doesn't help that they're hard to see or pick up. I often forget that it's a survival game because I can simply cheat my way through this part.
- The dungeons are either too cryptic or frustrating. Dungeon 1 is infamous for its invisible walls, while Dungeon 2 has issues with its platformer sections. The fact you cannot save in dungeons is annoying, especially since Dungeon 2 is a pretty long one if you make a lot of mistakes.
- The inventory and equipping system is pretty weird and unconventional. There's no hotbar to access weapons, so you need to press caps and manually select the tool
- Story / Relationship Progression just amounts to continually feeding girls until they give you a quest. Would be nice if there were other ways to progress the story or increase relationship.
- In its current state, the island barely has anything to do. Aside from a couple of enemies, the static NPC girls, and a random Monster Girl to capture... yeah not much to do here. Future updates intend on adding more stuff, however
- DreamWorld also suffers the same issue, but even worse. While it's fine to have few NPC's and enemies in the smaller parts of the city, it's just not fun when there's barely anyone in the BIG city. I think it would be better if everything took place in the big city, and with more characters to interact.
It's also unfinished, with some supposed to be accessed areas being blocked off and some NPC's lacking interaction.
- Speaking of, DreamWorld has an unforgiving early-game difficulty. What makes this annoying is that when you die in the Dream, you're booted back to reality. This means you wait 1 load screen for the island, wait a couple of seconds to be able to access DreamWorld again, and then another load screen to visit DreamWorld.
- The Zombie Minigame is not so fun, you don't even get to begin with a gun (guns show up randomly instead)
- The Touch System for Girls is unusually stiff, as things like patting or groping is animated at like 5fps. There doesn't seem to be any other incentive to touch girls, unless it's for girls sleeping under the influence of mushrooms. Also this is more of a preference rather than a legitimate issue, but I think there should be some manual input in sex scenes overall.
- The enemies are pretty basic as of 0.8.5f and a bit inconsistent in some areas (The Enemy Monster girls use a different combat system than the Enemy Dream Girls)

Overall, a game with some good ideas but it still needs further work in order to be better.

+Interesting concept.
+Big variety in the sex scenes with relatively not a small number of different characters, poses, and, most importantly, the presence of animation.
+-Gameplay seems interesting on the one hand: building, crafting, doing not complicated quests, catching monster girls, sex... But it's too poor and underdeveloped to spend many hours of grind.
-Some of the monster models look weird, given the general stylistics.

[v0.8.5f Fix Patreon] 4gigs of unexciting exploring... I don't know how this has so many stars in here. You have to able cheats to see a bit of content in this game because you'll get bored or won't know what to do after 30 mins of gameplay. The sound effects seems unnatural as well. The creator literally made those sounds and implemented them. If the game had some unexpecting events or some sort of interesting combat system, i would've continued it. But at this current state, i can't recommend it.

This game had absolutely no level of difficulty (was easy as hell) until the second dungeon. There was only the grind in earlier parts of the game, but luckily the game comes with cheats so you don't have to spend countless hours gathering resources. I liked the game. The girls in the sex scenes look like badly drawn anime characters, and the sex scenes are ridiculously simple and boring and not at all fapworthy. But I would have still given the game 5 stars because of the beautiful, huge, open word with a 3D environment that you can move in using WASD keys and you can even jump. It was very fun following the walkthrough and progressing in the game, completing missions, and improving relationships. And even though the second dungeon was hard at first and it took some time to figure things out, I didn't mind it. It wasn't until I got to the last chamber of the second dungeon that I became disgusted with the game. I must have wasted 3-5 hours in the last part of the second dungeon already. It's too hard. Mind you, the entire game was so freaking easy, so this ridiculously hard platform area at the end of the second dungeon made the game extremely unbalanced. I don't feel like playing anymore. Before it was just a fun fantasy game with goofy parody anime characters and almost no sexual reward. Now it just makes me angry because I can't beat this dungeon and I'm sick of trying. There is a screenshot below of how far that I got before giving up. This second dungeon should have been the 50th dungeon. The developer should make it so that the second dungeon progress is saved on every second platform that you jump on. I won't be playing this game again until a new game version comes out and the second dungeon is fixed. But I doubt that he will make any changes to the dungeon, so I might as well uninstall the game now. I don't want to lose my progress, but I don't feel like keeping a game that takes two years for an update. I did try to mod the Assembly-CSharp.dll file to make the jumps higher, but I couldn't figure out how to edit the code and recompile it. I also used Save Editor Online to edit several Save Data files, but nothing I tried worked. I give up. Sure, if I try one billion more times, I may eventually succeed and get that big key in the second dungeon. But it isn't worth it to go through that much trouble!!! Damn, I am so mad. Okay, I won't uninstall the game. But I won't play it again for a long time. If only there was a jump, fly, or teleport cheat that will take me to the top right away!

insanely grindy, very unfun to play with broken English and 0 direction on what you are supposed to do . The sex stuff is pretty lame as well.
There is really nothing more to say this game does literally nothing right

Genuine 1/10 game

It plays like an actual modern survival game. So it has actual gameplay. I give it 5 stars for dynamic crafting functionality in a porn game alone.
I only hope that most the characters are placeholders. The mom and sis is fine, the anime/game characters I hope are just placeholders.

If this is expanded on it could be a fun actual game. Being stranded on an island with your (siblings/friends) where you survive and bang with actual survival gameplay is something that I would give money to. Right now though IDK what route it will take, just what I hope.

Not sure why this has such high reviews. The animations are OK, but otherwise this game isn't great. It's pretty clunky and broken, personally I don't think it's worth the time required to actually be able to do anything. Perhaps in the future it'll be better, but as of writing this I wouldn't recommend playing it unless you really like the characters in the game.

Pros

+ Interesting, unique and well executed idea for a full 3D 18+ incest game, I saw nothing similiar to it so far, it's a real treat for the people who are fed up with the mundane state of the incest games out there.

+ Basic survival system with crafting, hunting and fighting monsters with magic and weapons you craft. Threat of monsters change by the day and night cycle, at night, it is more dangerous to wander around, different monsters spawn at night and they are far more formidable.

+ World map is full of encounters, events, exciting collectibles etc.

+ Satisfying H-Scenes with several ways to approach.

+ Although not a huge fan, half human half animal npcs you can interact, with several options what to do with them. Didn't blow me off so I find it very interesting.

Cons

- Exteremly grindy and slow going. Without cheats and walkthrough, I'd stop playing the game half way.

- Even with cheats activated, grind does not ends. There are levels that are designed to frustrate you with it's little platformer mechanics. They're called Dungeons. It is cryptic, it is foul, it is pointless and it is maddening. They are just there to extend the play hours of the game. This is a Japanese game I presume so when it comes to challange, there is this all or nothing additude that Japanese games usually has.

- Translation to English would be better if google translate were used. Yes, it is that bad. Even with my limited English, started skipping conversations because it become to cringy to bear.

- Models are not consistent with each other. The ones you go H-Scenes with are good looking and has a certain art style, feels like they are from the same artist but others, like monsters or anmials does not feel right or compatible with the whole world. Not a huge con but it bothered me a little.

I really like this game better than pretty much all the others ive played despite the buggyness. I really like the dances you can have some of the characters do and the options you can unlock for them. My only nitpick outside of bugs is the maids boobs are a bit weird cant quite put it into words but they arnt consistent with all the other characters.

there aren't many actual "games" here. most games, even the highest rated ones, are just over glorified power point presentations with occasional animations. this is an actual game! you walk around in an open world, you interact with objects and NPCs, you beat dungeons, etc. it's a legit game!

This game... This game. I dont even know what to say about it. You have characters from famous anime and mangas who are your family that you want and have to fuck obviously, and at the same time you try to survive on the island. You will quickly discover that a battle is raging between hentai demon and hentai goddess, and you have to complete fantasy dungeons and capture monster girls, including one that is actually not a monster but a robot. Then you can find a dream world by eating sleeping shrooms, and its actually a separate game inside a game. its a simulator of life in Japan where you fight gangs, pick up your favourite GuP tank commander or Kantai warship by beating her unconcious with baseball bat and then dragging her into dark valley (notice the realism) when at the same time fucking dreamworld imaginary characters and members of your family.

You surely already noticed. Its total mess and chaos. But its excellent made and fucking top quality mess and chaos with awesome sex scenes in full 3d, , unique madness climate and i doubt you will ever find anything better.

It had some pretty decent animation and I love that there is a first person and third person view too. Also the use of sound in the sex animation, it's always better with sound. It's really coming along well in my opinion and combat ain't bad either. That D2 level is annoying as hell but not terrible. Might take a bit of skill but thats it.

That damn dream tho, let me get a few more chicks to beat down and smash cause I enjoyed that. Also the goddess, a scene with that tits would be the shit. And the chick dancing at the bar, can we at least walk up to her that'd be great.

a good idea/concept, challenging, nice h scenes, overall entertaining, not perfect (needs a few bug fixes) but still really enjoyable (except for the people who likes to get everything in a easy/lazy way)

This game is great It is fairly buggy and there is no walk through or tutorial but the graphics make up for these issues. Another thing is these issues and bugs can easily be resolved by reopening the game. I recommend playing this game to people who like anime character

This game looks great and its fun to explore. It is a little challenging at first but once you understand it its great.

It does need a little polishing tho..

PROS
- Good amount/quality of sex positions and characters
- The dreamworld has fun mechanics: leveling, quests, farming gold, combat
- For newer sex scenes, the camera controls are much better

CONS
- VERY grindy. Gathering resources and quests on the island is boring. Nothing like the dreamworld (I strongly suggest to use cheats or you won't enjoy the game)
- The map is very big, but it feels too empty
- No voice acting

I'd like to go in depth on what makes this game interesting, and what makes this game not so interesting. However this review must maintain a medium tone because it's still early access.
For what is already available at the time of this review, (v0.6) this game has potential. It seems like a lot of time and thought went into the creation of the game, which I can appreciate.
However, as the comment section will tell you, this game is not easy. The survival aspect is tolerable, and in fact somewhat enjoyable. The monster girl genre is part of the game as well, which I don't mind one bit. It adds some spark. What I don't like, is the lack of direction for the player. I spent more time being clueless as to what I'm supposed to be doing than anything else. Finding the three girls wasn't all that difficult, except I thought all three of them would be on the coast, which killed a LOT of time on the third. There really needs to be a tutorial section with basic information such as crafting, and what certain materials can and can't do. Even combat, it took at least 10 mins to figure out how to draw the bow. It's not even listed on the control map.
The platforming in this game makes me want to bang my head into a wall until it's bloody. It's not difficult, it's not really skill based, it's just fucking tedious as hell. I thought D1 was fun, except needing to read through 20 pages of comments to discover there is no-collide walls which you can walk through. Then I stumbled into D2 and just continuously said fuck that, fuck that, hell no. Thanks to the guys who uploaded their save, I got to see what all that pointless effort and energy was building towards.
To the guys who enjoy the platforming in this game, you have a sick mind xD

That being said, the game itself is not bad. It has an amazing foundation to keep building on. And I would love to see future releases. However if they don't tone down D2 platforming I will be downloading someone else's save again. I would like to see more of a puzzle / problem solving theme, rather than repetitive platforming.

R-Life is a super fun game
Scenes are done really well, especially the H - Dance scene
The game has a few buggy flaws but only when you start cheating, hope the game turns into something great!, will be waiting for updates and supporting on Patreon
